I have to say, it doesn't look "too purty-good" from my side of the aisle, either!Longstreethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06712980841544338388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9871253.post-38502159206402654492007-07-06T09:59:00.000-04:002007-07-06T09:59:00.000-04:00Frank, there are 535 other folk, in DC, who worry ...Frank, there are 535 other folk, in DC, who worry me every bit as much as the White House worries you!
******************************
"the gang of 546" if you throw in the supreme court Pres. and vice pres. We need none of them! And the power should not go to the states it should go to the people, people not corporations..... These stupid tactics to keep us safe, IE patriot act, domestic spying are not design to keep us safe, they are design to keep them, "the 546" safe and in power.
I had a wonderful fourth, really looked at the state of nation today and am verry p.o.'d.
Hope you had a lighter one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9871253.post-51886564934248681712007-07-05T18:08:00.000-04:002007-07-05T18:08:00.000-04:00Frank, there are 535 other folk, in DC, who worry ...Frank, there are 535 other folk, in DC, who worry me every bit as much as the White House worries you!

What we are seeing now is that dreaded "BIG, Powerful,Central Government" my ancestors went to war to leave. What we have now, right now, is a direct result of the Lincoln Adminstration, not the forefathers who signed that Declaration and certainly not those who also placed their names on the Constitution.

Folks laugh at the thought of those ragged guys in gray who proudly proclaimed they were fighting for "States Rights". We're not laughing now! THEY saw where the country was headed in the 1840's and 1850's and decided they wanted no part of it. THAT'S what the war was about. Slavery was brought in later as an "excuse" for the war, not a "reason" for the war.

My Southern ancestors did not want to be a part of this mess, but to have a country as the forefathers constructed it. The STATES held the power over the Federal Government. The federal government was answerable to the STATES. What we have today is totally backwards from the way the nation, and government, was planned by those guys who laid the foundation of the country. They would not recognise it now, if they saw it.

Hpe you enjoyed the Fourth!

Best regards!

LongstreetLongstreethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06712980841544338388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9871253.post-88437117422826435192007-07-05T12:04:00.000-04:002007-07-05T12:04:00.000-04:00We really need to defend this now more than ever f...We really need to defend this now more than ever from the ideologs now in control of the whitehouse...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9871253.post-42905452399873086152007-07-04T23:31:00.000-04:002007-07-04T23:31:00.000-04:00Yes.
