Back when I was much younger, I didn't put much stock in such things, but as I have grown older and, hopefully, wiser, I have begun to see traits in people which can be explained no other way. Yes, I am convinced that we tend to display our heritage. I, personally, tend to lean toward me Irish ancestors... while my wife leans more toward her Scot ancestors. So, I would be inclined to buy a round, ... if the wife would let me have the money!

You can't help your French heritage anymore than I can help mine! I very carefully "forget" to mention that part of my lineage! HA!

Best regards!

LongstreetLongstreethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06712980841544338388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9871253.post-82475580354209983612007-03-23T17:25:00.000-04:002007-03-23T17:25:00.000-04:00Pretty much the same blood line here, but a bit mo...Pretty much the same blood line here, but a bit more recent.
All countries over here are ‘mongrel’ nations.

Are we stating that there are ‘genetic traits’ from certain groups/nations and these show through into our daily actions? I presume if you two gents have Scottish ancestry that you are not the quickest at buying a round of drinks? It is better to keep your mouth shut and not whine when you are offended! The main thing to remember is… do not whine! Strike, if you must, but do not whine! What I forgot was… my size disadvantage. Quite often the attacked was physically larger than me and I got the tar beaten out of me!
*********************************

Well I'm kinda like you on this one, except rather that keeping my mouth shut I built up a preson aresnal of "equalizers" for the over 6 footers, and I just ay to people who are offensive, "Be carefull your stupidity is starting to show." And if the baffoon keeps up I substitute stupidity with "up bringing", "inbrededness" or plain out "red neck".......

I am a mixed bag myself, minute amount of scottish, English, and German, mixed with 50% Italian or (Roman as I prefer) I usually say I'm a lot Of Julius cesar, with a little "Martin blood", a hint of "Braveheart" for good measure.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9871253.post-88784889835061541332007-03-23T07:27:00.000-04:002007-03-23T07:27:00.000-04:00This is rife throughout society here and it can be...This is rife throughout society here and it can be traced back to schooling.

Team sports are frowned upon because teachers are afraid of the ‘damage’ of being on the side that does not win (cannot say the ‘L‘ word.) There are people that will realise their goals and those that will be unsuccessful in every aspect of life, and removing this from the education curriculum can only damage the child’s development. I played rugby at school, and as you stated “a few bloody noses and split lips, and broken teeth, I managed to get a grip on myself and I learned a valuable lesson.” I could not agree more.

Seeing oneself as downtrodden and worthy of pity is self defeating. You will achieve nothing in life with that attitude.

regards,
Wha Wadna Fecht for Charlie.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
