Are We Looking at the Beginning of Another World War??

(Israel granted a 48 hour "conditional" cease-fire to allow for Humanitarian Aid to make it's way to the civilian population of southern Lebanon... and to allow an investigation of the events at Qana.)

The events of the past nearly three weeks resemble, in many ways, the world of the late 1930's with Hitler rampaging thru Europe.

The world was told Hitler was rounding up the Jews and murdering them. The world refused to believe. In some cases nations believed, but chose to turn their backs and allow millions of Jews to be murdered. Even the US, having evidence that Hitler was slaughtering the Jews, dragged its feet and allowed the killing to continue. The final tally… somewhere around 6 million Jews killed…men, women, and children. After the concentration camps were liberated, the evidence was laid out for everyone to see.

Shame drove the United Nations to grant Israel statehood in 1948 as a way to salve the world's own wounded ego. The world reasoned that if Israel came under attack again, they, the world, would have the excuse that Israel was a nation now and, as a nation, Israel would be responsible for it's own security.

From 1948, up to this past weekend, Israel has fought a near continuous battle with the "Jew hating" nations around her. Until this weekend she has been able to hold them off. Her only ally has been the US. Until this weekend. Now, her only ally is about to turn it's back on her, as well.

It now appears the US will join it's voice to the chorus of anti-Semites, in the United Nations, calling for a "cease fire" between Israel and the Hizbollah.

Make no mistake... any cease fire will be touted as a "flat out victory" for the Hizbollah and… for Iran and Syria. The terrorists, the "Jew hating" Islamists, the Persians, the Moslems, the anti-Semite Europeans, and even the American Left, will rejoice at the victory accorded the Hizbollah by the UN. A victory Israel's enemies could not gain anyway else.

Indeed, the cease-fire will be read as a victory over, not just Israel, but over the United States, as well. There will be repercussions, to the US, as a result of this Terrorist Victory, which will be tallied in the blood of innocent Americans on our own shores.

Approximately 150 miles from where I sit, in the US, there is reported to be an active Hizbollah cell. I fully expect that they will be heard from shortly.

Israel is about to face it's first loss in war. A loss handed to, arguably, the finest military in the world, after the US Military. It will be a crushing defeat for the men and women of the IDF. Their morale will be unquestionably damaged. The US saw what can happen to a military when it's troops are not allowed to win a war in which they are called upon to bleed and die. All for naught! Further, a cease-fire may purchase a few hours of quiet, but it will be the opening shot of the Third World War.

Here's why:

Israel has an ace card it has not played yet. The nuclear card.

Israel has no intention of being overrun. When the situation becomes such that Israel is staring at a defeat by her hatefilled neighbors she will employ her Nuclear Arsenal. Teheran, Damascus, Mecca, will sprout mushroom clouds, simultaneously.

The war will, overnight, spread all over the globe. Terrorist cells, long dormant and awaiting orders, will suddenly come alive and wreak havoc wherever they can. The US military will have it's hands full reinforcing and supplying Israel while, at the same time, sitting on the Iraqis, and the Afghans, who will surely want to join their Islamic brothers in the fight to rid the earth of Israel.

In days, London will be aflame, along with Paris, Berlin, Madrid, New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, not to mention the cities in South America, Africa, India, and lesser nations all over the globe.

While we have been sleeping, Islam has spread its cancer throughout the world. As I have said, so often before, this will be a fight to the death. There will be no co-existence. It will be them or us!

So watch, carefully, the events about to unfold in the UN, and in Washington, and in Tel Aviv.

We have arrived at the cusp of global war. The next 48 to 72 hours will set the stage for the greatest struggle in the history of mankind on this planet.

There will be no winner. Only survivors.

What... Me? An Extremist???

This Post ran the first time in May of 2005. However, I seem to find it necessary to run it, again, every few months. So it is today.

Definition of an Extremist.

Let’s see… so far I have been called an extremist, a Nazi, a 3 year-old child, a nutcase, crazy, a dictator, red-neck, ignorant…and these are just the names I can print! WOW! And all the name-calling is coming from the political Left, those wonderful folks who gave us “tolerance”. We, here at Insight, must be striking in the ‘quick”. Which means we are right on target.

Gosh, it really troubles me that all these years, when we thought we were just average folks, we were so out of touch with the “average” Joe.

So let me take stock:

Let’s see…. I’m Southern American male, Caucasian, (Of Northern European Ancestory) 65 years old, a military veteran, a Lutheran, a member of the American Legion, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a Republican, a writer, a wood worker, a 30 year retiree of the broadcasting business, A husband, a father, and a grandfather. I shop at Wal-Mart and K-mart. I drive a pick-up, which is parked, beside my wife’s GM sedan. I own my own home. I have a fairly good education, including a trade school and some college. And I vote… in every election.

I support the death penalty.

I believe there are absolutes… absolutely right and absolutely wrong. I believe in good and evil. I do not believe in “relativism”.

I do not support abortion, except… to save the life of the mother, or in case of rape, or incest.

So far as homosexuality is concerned … what you do in your own bedroom is YOUR business. Just stay out of my face, with it, and don’t insist that I like it.

I believe the Constitution was written by a group of men who meant what they said and said what they meant. I think the Supreme Court does us no favors by ”finding” rights in the Constitution what clearly are not there. I believe the constitution should be interpreted as it was originally meant…which is simply… as it was written. I’m an “Originalist”.

Separation of Church and State…if it was in the Constitution, I would have no problem with it. As it is, there is no such clause and the clause so often referred to… is meant to prevent the establishment of a State Church. I believe religion and politics should remain apart. I also understand that each will influence the other and there is no way to insure that does not occur.

I believe in a strong military. I could easily become an isolationist, but I know the remainder of the world will not allow that. So we must keep our guard up and as we have one of the smallest military forces we have had in a very long time, we may often have to strike first. I’m OK with that. I hope the draft will not be necessary, but I believe it will… and this time it will draft both men and women.

I have a rock solid belief that Americans have a right to bear arms. As long as the citizenry of this country is armed we have less to fear from our government.

Now, these are just a few of the attributes of an “extremist” like me… at least according to the Political Left.

Now, I leave it up to you to decide, exactly where the line falls between the Political Left’s view of “extremism” and that of the Political Right.

Which presents the least threat to America?

Bolton Up Again. Nothing Much Has Changed.

Well, Ambassador John Bolton
is up for another vote of the Foreign Relations Committee and the full Senate.

If you remember… he was “recess appointed” by the President when the Senate dragged it’s feet on approving his nomination. That appointment is only good through early 2007.

I see no reason to believe the Committee, nor the Senate, will act any differently this time around.

Here is what I wrote, back in May of 2005, about the Bolton nomination and the UN:

“The problem we had in the Foreign Relations Committee, and the problem we have in the full Senate, is that the Democrats and the “moderate” Republicans are satisfied with the UN, just as it is, and they do not want to rock the boat. The President is not satisfied… at all… and wants to REALLY rock the boat at the UN. John Bolton is the man to state the US position and present it as immovable and unchangeable. He will plant the US flag and not be swayed by the wheeling and dealing of the diplomats in pinstriped suits.

The UN is a mess! It is currently self-destructing. There may be a slim chance of saving it, and the appointment of Bolton, as the Ambassador, is the President’s way of making an attempt at reform… before it is entirely too late. Frankly, I believe it is too late and that the US should pull out of the UN at the earliest possible moment.

We can no longer continue to pour US dollars down a rat hole. For that is what the UN has become. It is a farce. It should be dissolved and another institution built from the ground up to replace it. The new institution should be supportive of democratic nations. The UN has allowed itself to be taken over by non- democratic nations and it is being run as they run their third world countries. There is greed, and avarice, and the lust for power and for money is rampant. Spying is also rampant at the UN. Diplomatic immunity covers a host of sins. Ask the City of New York about how easy it is to collect on parking tickets given to the cars of diplomats from the UN.

Their troops, in countries all over the globe, are uncontrollable. For the most part, they are ineffective as a military force.

There is extremely bad accounting for the millions of dollars flowing through the UN complex each year.

The whole place is in a tee-total mess. It’s time to bulldoze it and start anew.

One suggestion: Next time, put that building someplace besides the US…please. We’ve about had our fill of diplomacy… UN style.

Will US Civilians Retaliate against Moslems within the US?

Hard question.

The short answer is… yes.

When the bombings begin anew and malls, shopping centers, athletic arenas, schools, mass transit systems, and such, come under attack, yes, Americans civilians will begin to fight back.

We Americans believe the right to self defense is God-given and no government can take that from us. We also hold that we have a God-given right to exercise the right of self-defense when we deem it necessary.

Now, nobody wants to say this publicly. We all KNOW it, but nobody wants to say it.

I have been accused of generalizing when I say it is Moslems bombing us. It is hardly generalization when one knows it is ONlY Moslems bombing us!

Even with the Left’s drive to disarm Americans, we are still one of the most well armed civilian populations on earth.

Though we appear a plum target for the Islamofacists, it is an appearance, which is deceiving.

It takes a bit of doing to get America’s ire up. But once the anger begins to race thru the national blood stream, we step from behind the façade of peace lovers, to expose our true warrior nature. A nation doesn’t survive, as long as the US has, while being the target of every scumbag, and scumbag nation, on the planet, by being “Peace Loving Pushovers”. We survived by being able, and willing, to rip our enemies throat out.

We are quickly coming to the realization the enemy is among us. We have also learned how to discern the enemy.

Both sides in this war are marked by our religious faiths. Our religion is our uniform.

This is a war about religion. To call it anything else is simply not facing facts. It is Moslems against those of the Judeo-Christian faiths (Jews and Christians).

I’m afraid the day is not far off when the adherents to both religions will go at each other in the streets of the US. It won’t be pretty. A religious war never is. But it IS coming. Some on both sides are looking forward to it.

We have reached a point in our life, as a nation, when a portion of our constitution is working against our very survival. The First Amendment. It needs changing. We need to remove protection for the practice of all religions and stipulate that the Moslem religion is outlawed in the US. If we don’t, (and we won’t) we will have a huge price to pay.

It is really difficult not to see that it is Moslems who want us dead. Why then, are we allowing Moslems to practice their religion within the borders of the US? I KNOW it is because the constitution says we must. And we have come full circle. It is time to change that.

I have said, from day one, this is a war, which will last many decades. I have seen nothing to change my mind on that, at all. It is going to get very bloody before it is finally over.

We Americans have met our Carthaginians. The conflict will necessarily end the same way. As legend has it, the Romans utterly destroyed Carthage… burned it to the ground, plowed up the land Carthage once sat upon, and sowed the ground with salt so that nothing would ever grow on that site again.

This is the attitude we must take toward our modern day enemy. We must utterly destroy them.

The planet is no longer big enough for both religions.

US Airlifting War Fighting Supplies to Israel!

"Debka File" reports that huge US C-141 transport planes are flying bombs, missiles and spare parts for the Israeli Air force aircraft, and helicopters, in an airlift of war fighting materiel to Israel. The re-supply began over the past weekend with the big planes dropping in, unloading, and taking off again quickly.

This response from the US comes after Iran began replenishing Hizbollah’s stocks of arms on Wednesday July 19th.

It is also interesting to note, as "Debka File" reports, that an Iranian General Officer has assumed command of the Hizbollah fighters in Southern Lebanon.

It would appear the US, and Iran, are, currently, at war with each other using proxies as combatants. This is not new to the US. We fought the Soviet Union for 40 years with proxies all over the world.

If there was any doubt as to where the UN’s sympathies lie in this war, consider the Secretary General’s remarks; reference Israel firing on a UN position earlier this week. Reports from the region tell us that UN position, along with a string of other UN positions, along that border, were, and are, being used by Hizbollah to fire upon, or direct fire upon, Israel civilians or troops. Israel was well within its rights to fire upon that UN position and any other UN position, which the terrorists have been allowed to use.

Now we have reports that an Iranian Republican Guard commander has arrived on scene and taken command of the Hizbollah terrorists.

Isn’t it time to move a US Navy task force into the Med off shore of Israel? Our carrier aircraft could act as backups to the IAF. Not that they need us, necessarily. But it would send a strong message to Iran, and to Syria, that we have Israel’s back.

In any event, we are now at war with Iran. Maybe not officially, but heck, we haven’t had an “official” war since the Second World War. That did not prevent us from fighting the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Gulf War One, and whatever this thing in Iraq is called.

We are hearing rumors that Syria has ramped up her military alerts as well. This must scare the “bejesus” out of Syrian pilots. The last time they clashed with the Israeli Air force the Syrian losses were something on the order of 100 Syrian aircraft shot down to every one of the Israeli jets to fall. It was like unto a “turkey shoot” for the Israeli pilots. If memory serves, the IAF was flying French “Mirage” jets in those days. Now they are jockeying the hottest fighter-bomber aircraft in the world… made, of course, by the US.

I must tell you… it is somewhat amusing to watch and listen to the press on the ground in Israel, and Lebanon, talking of the “war” now underway along the southern Lebanon border. Those of us who recognize war, when we see it, understand the WAR hasn’t started yet. Israel is preparing the battlefield. That’s all. There are some ongoing skirmishes along the border and some strategic, and tactical, bombing of communications centers, command centers, and re-supply routes, as the Israelis isolate Hizbollah from their backers… Iran and Syria. Once the battlefield is prepared to Israel’s liking, then the war will begin.

When it does… it will be unmistakable. It will rev up quickly and the juggernaut, that is the Israeli Defense Forces, will cut thru the Hizbollah like a hot knife through butter. The six years Hizbollah has had to prepare entrenchments, tunnels, fighting positions, and bunkers, are slowly being unraveled, identified, and destroyed, methodically day by day. The days of static fighting positions have been long gone since Vietnam. Somehow, the armies of the Middle East (and I use the term “armies” loosely) have not picked up on that. On today’s battlefield, if you stand still… you are dead. Dig in, if you must. But understand, if you do, you are only digging your own grave. Don’t believe me, ask the vaunted Republican Guard of Iraq!

So now we wait.

The new, longer range, missiles, Iran has shipped to the Hizbollah, will only heighten the blood lust of the Israelis. At some point, Israel will strike the Iranian homeland. Expect to see Iranian airfields blown to smithereens, soon, in an effort to abort Iran’s airborne re-supply shipments of rockets and missiles to Hizbollah.

Once the balloon goes up, I see no way to confine this war to Lebanon. It almost certainly will become a regional war.

Once again, the US military is being underestimated. There belief that America cannot fight on two, or more, fronts is a fallacy Iran is about to be disabused of. It has been beneficial to our cause to allow the world to believe that America’s military is stretched too thin. We’re not there yet.

I must tell you that American troops fighting back to back with Israel will be a sight to behold!

The hour is quickly approaching for the “Cowboy” President to saddle up again.

We have one request of the US military. While we’re in Syria, and Lebanon, lets take a very long, and protracted, “look about”, in the Bakaa Valley, for those lost WMDs of Saddam’s. Those Russian aircraft flying out of Iraq, ahead of the invading US troops, certainly took them somewhere. The Bakaa Valley is a darn good candidate for their hiding place.

A Break-In !

I received this as a forwarded e-mail. I did not write it.

It represents itself as a "letter to the editor" of some publication, or other. I have no idea who wrote it, and no idea of the editor who may have received it, and no idea of the publication within which, it may have appeared.

Having said all that, the letter, itself, describes, so well, the situation America finds herself in with illegal aliens today, that I simply had to pass it along to you, the readers of this blog.

Here is the "Letter to the Editor":

"Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the U.S. might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.

Let's say I break into your house and that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest, (except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there. It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard-working and honest ... um, except for ... well, you know.

And what a deal it is for me! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being anti-housebreaker.

Did I miss anything? Does this sound reasonable to you? If it does, grab a sign and go picket something. If this sounds insane to you, call your senators and enlighten them because they are stumbling in the darkness right now and really need your help!"

Does this not sum it up beautifully?

Why do you suppose it is that the everyday, common, citizen in America, can see, and define, the problem so well while the men and women we pay so much to represent us in the Congress cannot see this at all.

There is a disconnect between the citizens of this country and our lawmakers.
The fact that the disconnect exists, at all, is a danger to the country.

We urge you to write your Congresspersons and Senators and explain it to them as the author of this "letter to the editor" has done so beautifully.

Get their Attention... First!!!

Minimalist Wars are Made to Lose!

I am furious that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice promised Lebanon 30 million dollars to help rebuild that county’s infrastructure!

Why?

Look, if Lebanon had the testicular fortitude of 4-year-old boy, they would have been out there, in boondocks, at least TRYING to root out Hizbollah. But, no, they don’t do that. They sit on their hands; allow themselves to be intimidated by a bunch of armed hoodlums, and wait for Israel to save their sorry asses! Then they turn right around and “hate” Israel and the US… as always!

Oh, come on, folks! The Moslems, we have learned, are afraid of their own shadows. They will attack from ambush, or set off bombs in locations with high concentrations of civilians, and even stoop to killing their own civilians, and swear, to the press, that either the Israelis did it, or the Americans did it! Does that sound like brave people to you? If it does, you have a warped sense of bravery, and NO sense of honor, at all.

You know, the more familiar I become with that area of the world, and the peoples of that area of the world, the more I become convinced that Saddam Hussein was on to something. Granted he was a dictator. But he kept those people under control. He used raw fear.

The US is attempting to us tender loving care… and it ain’t working!

Reminds me of the old tale of the farmer who was searching for a new mule to plow with. He inquired at another farm, where he had seen a sign declaring the farmer there had a mule for sale. As the prospective buyer looked the mule over, he asked how the mule responded to orders. The owner of the mule said the mule responded well, but you had to use tender loving care to get the mule to respond at peak performance. If you did that the mule was up to any task. Asked by the buyer to demonstrate, the owner hitched the mule to a plowshare and snapped the reins over the mules back and commanded “gid-UP”. The mule didn’t move. Didn’t even flinch. Three times the owner repeated the command and the mule didn’t move. Finally the owner stepped over to a pile of cast off wood scraps, picked up a four foot section of 2 x 4 and, swinging it with all his might, smacked the mule right between the eyes! The astounded buyer shouted: “I thought you said the mule would respond to tender loving care!” The owner replied: “He will. But you got to get his attention first!”

The kernel of truth in that old story can be applied to the Middle Eastern Moslems. We haven’t gotten their attention yet! As long as we use the tender loving care, BEFORE the 2 x 4, we will NEVER get their attention.

Frankly, I’m not convinced that democracy will work in that part of the world. It doesn’t carry the implied threat that a strongman dictator does. Plus, I am not convinced that all people want to be free. You see free people have responsibility for themselves. Many people, on this planet, do not want to be responsible for themselves. We learned that the hard way right here in this country. We have an entire class of people who appear content to remain wards of the US government. Have we learned nothing from this? Apparently not!

The US may find that we are forced to install another strongman dictator, in power in Iraq, and forget about democracy until the Iraqis grow up.

Meanwhile, back in Lebanon, Israel’s attempt at a minimalist war is failing. If Hizbollah is given even the smallest reason to claim a victory, it will bring more death and destruction down on Israel.

When Gen. Douglas Macarthur led the US troops in Korea against the North Koreans and the Red Chinese, he had the idea that once he had driven them back across the 38th parallel he would sow the land, five miles deep, with radio active cobalt, to insure there would not be another land invasion from North Korea into South Korea. President Truman thought Mac was crazy and eventually fired him. The fact that Mac was planning to run against Truman as the Republican candidate for President in the next election had absolutely nothing to do with Truman’s decision to relieve the good general! Nothing!

Now, think about it. If Israel unloaded a few battlefield “tactical” nukes, into the area of southern Lebanon, the Hizbollah terrorist are using to launch their stove pipe missiles from, seems to me that would create a “sanitary zone”. Anything moving about in that zone would die of radiation sickness in fairly short order. It might prove a deterrent to terrorists and end the fighting in that area for many, many, years to come.

The point is… the fighting in Southern Lebanon, now, is useless. Even if Israel drives the Hizbollah back, oh, say, 20 miles, Hizbollah will simply request, and receive, longer-range missiles from Iran and/or Syria. So nothing is to be gained by simply driving the Hizbollah back. However, killing as many Hizbollah terrorists, as is possible, will certainly be looked upon, with favor, by Israelis and Americans alike.

Unfortunately, the US, and now Israel, it seems, have both bought into the lie that minimalist wars win hearts and minds. They don’t. What a minimalist war does do, however, is cause wars to drag on, and on, and in the process, cause more soldiers to die needlessly. A lightening fast, sharp as a razor, military strike followed by another, and another, until none of the enemy is left standing is the proven way to gain victory in any conflict. Lightening War, invented by the Nazis, proved it’s worth, as a war-fighting tactic, as far back as September 1st, 1939 when Hitler’s army flooded across Poland’s border and wrapped that entire country up in a matter of days.

And finally, minimalist wars are interpreted, by a hostile media, as “quagmires”.

It is apparent, and has been since the Vietnam War, the mainstream media, worldwide, is hostile to America and to Israel. Even in the US, itself, it’s own homegrown media is hostile to the US. As a result they look for any, and all, reasons to portray the US and Israel in a bad light. They jump on a minimalist war and interpret it to their readers, and viewers, as a loss for the US and for Israel. That is exactly what is happening on the front pages of the newspapers across the world, and on the TV screens around the world, today.

When America or Israel goes to war, it must gear up to fight both enemies; the ones shooting at them and the ones writing about them.

If I could offer any advice, at all, to the US government, and the Israeli government, it would be two things: Do not fight minimalist wars! Strike with overwhelming force… and do it from day one. And secondly… bar the press from the theatre of war…period! No press, no press conferences… no nothing… until the fighting is ended.

Do it Now, or Do it Later?

The argument rages, among Americans, whether we should take the leash off our Armed Forces and allow them to mop the desert, and mountains, up with the terrorists, or put it off in hopes they will learn to love us and drop their warlike ways toward us.

Historians tell us that when the 13 American colonies, of Great Britain, went to war for their Independence from the mother country, roughly 1/3 of Americans were for the war… 1/3 of Americans were against the war… and … roughly 1/3 of Americans could not have cared less, one way or the other. Yet all benefited from the successful conclusion of that war… as has the entire world.

I was born before the Second World War. My formative years were the war years. Then, as I entered my teens, the US became embroiled in the Korean Conflict. Then, as I donned the uniform of my country, the secret war in Vietnam, in which the US had been involved since the 50’s, (to one degree or the other) went public. So, by the time I was a middle-aged man, I had experienced three wars.

Now, I mention this only as a means to express the fact that my experience has left me totally puzzled at the attitude of those Americans who are afraid of war. I cannot fathom the depth of that fear. It is one of the most often heard topics of conversation among my age peers. What happened to the "Brave"?

Nobody likes war! Well, maybe some do. But generally speaking, the vast majority of humans don’t like it. Unfortunately, war is a part of living on this planet and it will continue to be as long as the earth holds together and continues it’s spinning journey around the sun. It is the way of things.

Americans must get over this “scardy-cat” mentality and attack the future as we used to do. If that means we have to go to war to realize one, or another, of our goals, then so be it.

Look, great nations don’t quaver when a threat to its security is made... by anyone. If they do, believe me, it will not be a great nation for long. Once that chink in a nation’s armor is made visible, it is the open door through which all that nation’s enemies will seek entry.

Here in America, our weak link, our chink in the national armor, is the Political Left. Their quavering has caused more deaths of Americans, and American servicemen, and servicewomen, than any other single cause. A country cannot hesitate when confronted with danger. It must reply to that threat immediately and with irresistible force. Half-hearted military forays into to the homelands of our enemies only leads to unnecessary American deaths. The sooner America attacks, with overwhelming force, the sooner the battles, and the war, are over and battle deaths are minimized.

Unfortunately the American Left has control of our Public School System and our institutions of “so-called” higher learning. They are turning out carbon copies of themselves every year. With every graduating class, the future of America, as a great nation, a free nation, grows dimmer. As the Scriptures teach us: “As the twig is bent, so growth the tree!”

I have advocated the abolishment of the American public school system for some time now. Home schooling, and private schooling, is the only way to win our children back and to secure a future for America.

This is not the America I knew neither as a boy nor as a young man. The America I knew bowed to no one. We were a great nation. We were a great people. We feared no man. We had confidence in ourselves that we could do anything, go anywhere, and be anything we wanted. Then the cancer of Leftist Politics took hold. And like the cancer, that it is, it has eaten away America’s soul and her will to live. It has robbed us of a future as a Great, Free, People.

So, if you have been asking yourselves why America hesitates these days, in my humble, or not so humble opinion, (as you choose), the answer lies above in the text of this post.

Someone has said that we are the first generation, which will not leave America a better country than we found it. Unfortunately, I must agree with that!

About that International Peace Keeping Force which will be Going to Lebanon… It’s a Joke!

Wafting about the airwaves, this past weekend, was talk about a multi-national force to be inserted into southern Lebanon between Israel and Hizbollah, (including the Syrian and Iranian troops as well).

First, I don’t like the idea. I want to see Israel given the “go ahead” to clean out Lebanon. Else wise, they will simply have to do it all again and again and again.

But the Euro-weenies, and the UN, and the Left, all over the world, is so upset over the drubbing the terrorists are taking, that a pitiful wail has gone up begging for mercy for the terrorists. On one side is the Left wing of the world, the UN, the brother terrorist nations, the socialist nations, the communist nations, nations with no working governments, the anti-war crowd, and sundry other kook organizations, including the Mainstream Media. On the other side are the Conservatives, Israel, and if one believes the Scriptures, God.

The Bush Administration has about used up its diplomatic “foot-dragging” time and the moment to “get off the pot” has nearly arrived.

Now… I’d like to be able to say that I feel that my government will “do the right thing” and come out, publicly, in full support of Israel and commit troops, and war fighting materiel, to Israel to assist her in the fight.

As I said… I WISH I could. But, I can’t.

I fully expect the Administration to “go through the motions” and finally get behind some sort of “cease fire” agreement, which will do nothing toward solving the problem… at all.

I expect we will soon be told there will be an international force sent to Lebanon to insure the “cease fire” doesn’t break down. It would be funny, if it were not so serious.
So… who’re we going to send, huh? The UN? Oh, come on, now! NATO? You have to be kidding! Both of these organizations are filled, to running over, with Israel haters and ant-Semites. No, neither of them will do.

If, and I say, IF, we have to send a “so-called” peace keeping military force then it should be a force headed up by a Jewish-American General Officer and made up of troops from the US, Australia, Great Britain and Canada (well, Canada is a "maybe"!) That is, if the international community actually wants a “serious” attempt at stopping Hizbollah. If not … then send in the UN, or NATO, and the whole festering boil will continue to plague the region for a few more decades.

Hey, I’m biased! I actually want to see Israel given half a chance here!

Now, if the international community is not supportive of such a force, then the US should give Israel the nod to “clean it out” then, back up, and let the IDF do the job.

I am not so naive as to believe that this is going to actually settle anything. This battle has raged since the days of Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael. It isn’t over yet… not by a long shot.

And here’s another heads-up for you. We can send all the Secretaries of State, we want, to that part of the world, to negotiate a “lasting peace”… and it will not happen! This is a family fight. These are Half Brothers fighting over a birthright and a perceived “injustice” done one party by God himself! Now tell me… do you really think we are going to actually affect the outcome in this mess??? Hardly.

So, all we can do is provide Israel the moral support, and the munitions she needs, to hold her own against her blood relatives as the brawl continues.

Anything else is just “blowing in the wind”.

On the other hand, if the US really wants to do something helpful, to itself, and the remainder of the free world, it will cut off US funding of the UN and kick the UN out of the United States.

In the meantime, I won’t hold my breath!

WHAT IS A VETERAN?

Some Veterans bear visible signs of their service: a missing limb, a jagged scar, a certain look in the eye. Others may carry the evidence inside them: a pin holding a bone together, a price of shrapnel in the leg. Or perhaps another sort of inner steel: the soul’s ally forged in the refinery of adversity.
Except in parades, however, the men and women who have kept America safe wear no badges or emblems.

You can’t tell a Vet just by looking.

He is the cop on the beat who spent six months in Saudi Arabia sweating two gallons a day making sure the armored personnel carriers didn’t run out of fuel.

He is the barroom loudmouth, dumber than five wooden planks, whose overgrown frat-boy behavior is outweighed a hundred times in the cosmic scales by his four hours of exquisite bravery near the 38th parallel.

She – or he – is the nurse who fought against futility and went to sleep sobbing every night for two solid years in Da Nang.

He is the POW who went away one person and came back another – or didn’t come back at all.

He is the Quantico Drill Instructor who has never seen combat, but has saved countless lives by turning slouchy, no-account rednecks and Gang Members into Marines, and teaching them to watch each other’s backs.

He is the parade-riding Legionnaire who pins on his ribbons and medals with a prosthetic hand.

She is the career Quartermaster who watches the ribbons and medals pass her by.

He is the anonymous heroes in The Tomb of the Unknowns, whose presence at Arlington National Cemetery must forever preserve the memory of all the anonymous heroes whose valor dies unrecognized with them on the battlefield or in the ocean’s sunless deep.

He is the old guy bagging groceries at the supermarket, palsied by now and aggravatingly slow, who helped liberate a Nazi death camp and who wishes all day long that his wife were still alive to hold when the nightmares come.

She is an ordinary and yet and extraordinary human being – a person who offered some of her life’s most vital years in the service of this country, and who sacrificed her ambitions so others would not have to sacrifice theirs.

He is a soldier and a savior and a sword against the darkness, and his nothing more than the finest, greatest testimony on behalf of the finest, greatest nation ever known.

So remember, each time you see someone who has Served our country, just lean over and say “Thank You.” That’s all most people need, and in most cases it will mean more than any medals they could have been awarded or were awarded.

Two little words that mean a lot, “THANK YOU”.

“It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us Freedom of the Press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us Freedom of Speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the Freedom to Demonstrate.

It is the soldier, who salutes the Flag, who serves beneath the Flag, and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who allows protesters to burn the flag.

Exit Strategy for the War on Terror!

Good news for our friends on the Left. The Administration, with assistance from the conservative “think tanks” through-out the land, have put their collective heads together to create an exit strategy for the “War on Terror”.

After much consideration, and airing of opposing ideas, the spokesman for this group announced today they have reached a conclusion and it will be referred to the President for action.

Asked my media representatives for a hint of the report’s contents, the spokesman would say only that the entire strategy is encapsulated in one word: Victory!

Pressed for more detail the spokesman returned to the lectern and summed the report up thusly:

“Victory will be achieved when the last terrorist is… dead”. He then turned and strode from the pressroom amid the gasps of surprised and mortified journalists.

The story above did not happen. I wish it had, but the truth is, it did not.

The truth alluded to in the story, though, is the fact that this war will go on and on until, at some point, we have killed the last of those would be killers of Americans.

Now, I’m not so naive as to believe that there WILL BE AN END. There will be periods when the action will not be as obvious and there will even be short periods of rest. But, by and large, this war will have no end.

I know you don’t like to hear such things… such pessimistic things, but this is a reality check, if you will. You see, there is no exit strategy, because there is no exit.

This so called war on terror began in the 1970’s and will continue into the unseeable future. As long as the United States of America exists there will be those who would bring her down. Call it envy. Call it what you like. The fact remains that are people out there who want us dead. They don’t much care how they do it, even if it means their own death, or the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocents. They simply do not care!

In the parts of the world where we DO care, we’re called civilized. As a result, we’re called the Great Satan and such by those who do not care. There is something spectacularly wrong with this picture.

I have contended, from the beginning of this War on Terror, that the US is not being aggressive enough. I still believe that. I’d prefer to see the US military in one long continuous attack leveling everything before it. I’d like to see punishment meted out.

I will never, so long as I live, be able to erase the pictures, in my mind, of those Twin Towers collapsing and the desperate “death jumps” made by people in those buildings, whose only choice was a slow, painful, death by fire, and smoke, or a fairly quick death by jumping from that great height. They should never have been placed in such a position as to have to make that choice.

A videotape of those planes crashing into the Twin Towers, of those jumps, and of those buildings collapsing, should be aired every other hour, 24 hours a day, on all the TV networks in America, cable and broadcast. Americans need to be reminded that we are living under a constant death threat. Our death warrants have already been written. The terrorists are only waiting for a chance to execute those warrants.

And… I am supposed to be upset by the US torturing some AQ prisoners??? Don’t make me laugh!

Now add to the mixture another madman in the middle east in a race to build an atomic bomb, which he will use at his first opportunity on Israel, or lay off shore of the US, in international waters, and lob a Chinese made missile with a crude, but workable, atomic warhead on it fired from the deck of a rusty old freighter, into New York City, or Washington, DC, or Charlotte, NC, or… oh well, you name the city.

Those of you who think the negotiations, within the UN, will actually matter are delusional. The UN is an unworkable body. It is as screwed-up, itself, as is the Middle East.

So we are back to square one. It is kill or BE killed. We have to get serious about this war. Kill the alligators and drain the swamp. Stop holding back. Unleash our military and let them do what they do better than any other military in the world… kill people and break things.

The US should adopt the slogan of the Israeli Defense Forces… “Never Again!”

US Looks the Other Way as Israel and Hezbollah Fight.

Finding something for Condi to do on the other side of the globe, from Israel, is a great strategy, at the moment, for the Bush Administration. This Israeli/Hizbollah fight needs to rage on for a few more weeks, anyway.

Look, if we don’t allow those people to fight this thing out, we’re only delaying the inevitable.

By now, everyone should know that this is a fight between Iran and Syria on the one side and Israel and the US on the other.

It would appear that Israel intends to drive the Hizbollah back about 20 miles from the Northern Border of Israel. Liberating land, again, which they just turned over to Lebanon after occupying it for some 18 years.

Looking at the situation on the ground today, as opposed to 18 years ago, I don’t believe 20 miles will be deep enough. If Iran continues to provide Hezbollah with improved rockets it most certainly will not be far enough.

Back, many moons ago, when I was in the artillery, we had a battery of guns, with which, we could lob 208 pound shells 17 and ½ miles into a 55 gallon oil drum… sight unseen. That was in the late 50’s and early 60’s. And, those guns were Korean War vintage 8-inch howitzers. Some of the rockets being employed by the Hezbollah have a range of 100 miles.

So, Israel may be forced to push through Lebanon and take Syria. Once they do that… maybe they can swing back to Lebanon and wipe out the Bakaa Valley.

The point is… Israel is not finished yet. She is a long way from slowing down her drive. He ground troops are being carefully husbanded and prepared for a huge ground push when the time is right.

Now is not the time for the US to interfere. It is not the time to try for any kind of cessation of hostilities. The job is not finished. Israel has much to do and the US should stay on the sidelines and allow her to get the job done. As of this moment… the best thing the US can do is … don’t interfere!

Now, for those of you who feel the current administration is disconnected from the events in northern Israel and southern Lebanon, please understand the Bush Administration knows exactly what is going on there, and in many cases, BEFORE it happens. We have that kind of relationship with Israel.

So, while the Media pounds us with body counts in an attempt to prove those mean ole Israelis are just stacking up bodies of those poor helpless Hizbollah terrorists, just remember… each dead Hizbollah terrorist is one less we will have to face at some point in the future.

As I view the determination, displayed by the Israeli defense forces, the difference becomes clear, between the Israelis and the Americans.

The Israelis understand they are fighting for their very lives. The Americans do not. Until America understands, as do the Israelis, we are going to continue to be tied up, indefinitely, in little piss ant countries, like Iraq, when we should have flattened it in a matter of hours and moved on.

The US involvement in wars in the Middle East could have been reduced by simply winning the First Gulf War... and winning it BIG! By stopping US forces, some 30 miles from Baghdad, we set the stage for the Iraqi War, in which we find ourselves today.

Have we learned our lesson? I doubt it. Soon we will have Secretary Rice in the Middle East putting on a snow of trying to get Israel to stop beating up on those “poor helpless Hizbollah”. The whole act will be for the Israel hating Left and for the UN, which, actually, is the same thing.

In the meantime, Israel should continue it’s attacks, continue it’s push deep into Lebanon, and even Syria, if the opportunity provides itself. If they don’… they know, they will simply have to do it again, and soon.

The US should stay out of it… and allow Israel the time she needs to accomplish her mission.

The Left's dislike of the Jew and of Israel.

I have gained a wonderful lesson in the past few days. As I wrote several posts in support of Israel, I began to get heat, heavy heat, from, of all places, the Left, including the American Left and the European Left.

The hypocrisy of it all was stunning. The lesson I learned… nothing much has changed. The Left is still anti-Jew and anti-Israel.

Now, before you explode all over my blog here… understand, the Nazis were Leftists. They were Socialists… the Nationalist Socialist party… to be exact.

Over the decades, the American Left has become adept at changing the meaning of words, especially inflammatory words, to fit anyone, or anything, they do not like. Therefore in the lexicon of the Left, Nazi stands for Conservative, you see. But then, truth has never been much of a stumbling block to those bent on establishing the rule of the few, over the many, as does socialism. As any mediocre student of history knows the Nazis were socialists. Hitler was a socialist… a Leftist. I mean… I don’t have to try to prove it. It simply IS the truth! Uncomfortable, I imagine, for out Leftist friends, but there it is.

We have another presidential election coming up in 2008. Both conservatives and liberals are casting their eye in the “round about” hoping to spy a likely candidate to carry the emblem of their party.

Well, we stumbled across an article written by Edward Feser back in 2004. He put forth the idea that maybe the Democrats should look for a candidate in the mold of a former winning candidate who seemed to embody everything the Democrat party stands for today.

Here’s what Mr. Feser said:

"A solution for the Leftist might lie in turning one's historical eye back before either Clinton or McGovern, to find a model who was both genuinely radical and a solid electoral success. Then the task will be to find a modern politician who fits this paradigm as closely as possible. Who might serve as such a model?

One example stands out.

Who was he?

He had been something of a bohemian in his youth, and always regarded young people and their idealism as the key to progress and the overcoming of outmoded prejudices. And he was widely admired by the young people of his country, many of whom belonged to organizations devoted to practicing and propagating his teachings. He had a lifelong passion for music, art, and architecture, and was even something of a painter. He rejected what he regarded as petty bourgeois moral hang-ups, and he and his girlfriend "lived together" for years. He counted a number of homosexuals as friends and collaborators, and took the view that a man's personal morals were none of his business; some scholars of his life believe that he himself may have been homosexual or bisexual. He was ahead of his time where a number of contemporary progressive causes are concerned: he disliked smoking, regarding it as a serious danger to public health, and took steps to combat it; he was a vegetarian and animal lover; he enacted tough gun control laws; and he advocated euthanasia for the incurably ill.

He championed the rights of workers, regarded capitalist society as brutal and unjust, and sought a third way between communism and the free market. In this regard, he and his associates greatly admired the strong steps taken by President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal to take large-scale economic decision-making out of private hands and put it into those of government planning agencies. His aim was to institute a brand of socialism that avoided the inefficiencies that plagued the Soviet variety, and many former communists found his program highly congenial. He deplored the selfish individualism he took to be endemic to modern Western society, and wanted to replace it with an ethic of self-sacrifice: "As Christ proclaimed 'love one another'," he said, "so our call -- 'people's community,' 'public need before private greed,' 'communally-minded social consciousness' -- rings out...! This call will echo throughout the world!"

The reference to Christ notwithstanding, he was not personally a Christian, regarding the Catholicism he was baptized into as an irrational superstition. In fact he admired Islam more than Christianity, and he and his policies were highly respected by many of the Muslims of his day. He and his associates had a special distaste for the Catholic Church and, given a choice, preferred modern liberalized Protestantism, taking the view that the best form of Christianity would be one that forsook the traditional other-worldly focus on personal salvation and accommodated itself to the requirements of a program for social justice to be implemented by the state. They also considered the possibility that Christianity might eventually have to be abandoned altogether in favor of a return to paganism, a worldview many of them saw as more humane and truer to the heritage of their people. For he and his associates believed strongly that a people's ethnic and racial heritage was what mattered most. Some endorsed a kind of cultural relativism according to which what is true or false and right or wrong in some sense depends on one's ethnic worldview, and especially on what best promotes the well-being of one's ethnic group.

Who was he? He certainly sounds like the ideal presidential candidate of a Pacifica Radio Network listener or Mother Jones subscriber -- or, to make a more timely reference, a contributor to MoveOn.org. It can only add to his appeal for such people that he was a target of American and British bombing raids and had to flee to the safety of an underground hide-out.

And he was none other than Time magazine's Man of the Year for 1938:

Adolf Hitler."

Why do I bring all this to the forefront today? Well, after months of being plastered with every racial epithet and called every hated name in the book, and some which were just made up on the spur of the moment, I thought I’d shed a little truth on who Hitler really was and... possibly poke an elbow in the ribs of the Left as a not-so- subtle-reminder that they ought not be describing conservatives in terms which, more truthfully, describe leftists/socialists.

This is a War about Religion!

A few days ago, I wrote a piece in which I declared the current war on terror as a religious war… war between Islam and the Judeo-Christian religions. It raised some eyebrows. The truth, uttered aloud, usually does!

I stand by that today. Only someone totally disconnected from reality can say the war the United States finds itself embroiled in, all over the globe, is anything other than a religious war.

We Americans have become so used to our separation of church and state that we have a great deal of difficulty getting our minds wrapped around the idea of "religion as state" and "state as religion". Not the Moslems. No. Islam is just that.

As I write, Israel is in a dogfight with Moslem terrorists funded by the Islamofacists of Iran and Syria and other Islamic states with lower public profiles that the two just mentioned.

Israel is in this war to save herself… and… to save the United States. Israel knows she cannot exist without her big brother, the US, standing by her side. The US knows Israel is fighting our fight.

The commonality between the two nations is the Judeo-Christian faith. Now, I know it isn’t fashionable to speak openly of such things, to speak openly of a religious war, but the truth, Dear Reader, IS the TRUTH.

We simply must stop this charade and face facts. The fact is… The Moslems want you dead. They want you wife, or husband, dead. They want your son and/or your daughter dead. They want your grand kids dead. Simply put, if you are of the Jewish faith, or the Christian faith… they want you dead! Period! You can’t negotiate with them. There is nothing TO negotiate. They want you dead.

So, let’s put aside the flowery language of the diplomat, and forget political correctness, and call a spade a spade. We have come face to face with an enemy who hates us more than he loves life and he is willing to do whatever it takes, no matter how gruesome, no matter how horrible, to rid the face of the earth of Jews and Christians … and anyone else not a Moslem. It is, honestly, the Moslems versus everyone else.

So, what are we to do about it? We can ignore it and continue to think this is some sort of guerilla war and… we will take a hit every now and again and eventually the terrorists will get tired and go away. UH-UH! Ain’t gonna happen. They will go away when you are dead. When the US is dead. When Israel is dead. The end is just that stark.

Now, we can sit back and await the end, or we can choose to stand and fight, like men, a “no holds barred” fight, and take it to the Islamofacists. They do not fear death, they say. We should not be afraid to take them to their deaths as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will not be safe, you family will not be safe, your country will not be safe, until they are beaten back and made totally harmless.

The fight, of which I speak, is going to be dirty. It is going to be akin to genocide. But we have no choice. When your enemy hates you more than he loves his children, more than he loves his own life, then options available for reducing the threat, or negotiating away the threat, are non-existent.

We did not choose this fight. It chose us. The Moslems brought death and destruction to us. We must stop it by any, and all, means necessary.

But, before we do anything more, we must admit to ourselves... and we must admit openly... this war is about religion. Because… it is.

I received this in the form of an e-mail. So, I went "looking" to try to determine who General Vernon Chong was/is.

He is said to be a retired Air Force Surgeon and past Commander of Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. A little more nosing around and we learn this:

This WAR is for REAL

"To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it.

Our country is now facing the most serious threat to its existence, as we know it, that we have faced in your lifetime and mine (which includes WWII).

The deadly seriousness is greatly compounded by the fact that there are very few of us who think we can possibly lose this war and even fewer who realize what losing really means.
First, let's examine a few basics:

1. When did the threat to us start? Many will say Sept. 11th, 2001. The answer as far as the United States is concerned is 1979, 22 years prior to September 2001, with the following attacks on us:
Iran Embassy Hostages, 1979;
Beirut, Lebanon Embassy 1983;
Beirut, Lebanon Marine Barracks 1983;
Lockerbie, Scotland Pan_Am flight to New York 1988;
First New York World Trade Center attack 1993;

2. Why were we attacked? Envy of our position, our success, and our freedoms. The attacks happened during the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton and Bush 2. We cannot fault either the Republicans or Democrats as there were no provocations by any of the presidents or their immediate predecessors, Presidents Ford or Carter.

3. Who were the attackers? In each case, the attacks on the US were carried out by Muslims.

4. What is the Muslim population of the world? 25%.

5. Isn't the Muslim religion peaceful? Hopefully, but that is really not material. There is no doubt that the predominately Christian population of Germany was peaceful, but under the dictatorial leadership of Hitler (who was also Christian), that made no difference. You either went along with the administration or you were eliminated. There were 5 to 6 million Christians killed by the Nazis for political reasons (including 7,000 Polish priests).

Thus, almost the same number of Christians were killed by the Nazis, as the six million holocaust Jews who were killed by them, and we seldom heard of anything other than the Jewish atrocities. Although Hitler kept the world focused on the Jews, he had no hesitancy about killing anyone who got in his way of exterminating the Jews or of taking over the world _ German, Christian or any others.

Same with the Muslim terrorists. They focus the world on the US, but kill all in the way __ their own people or the Spanish, French or anyone else. The point here is that just like the peaceful Germans were of no protection to anyone from the Nazis, no matter how many peaceful Muslims there may be, they are no protection for us from the terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on doing __ by their own pronouncements __ killing all of us "infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do if the choice was shut up or die?

6. So who are we at war with? There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other than the Muslim terrorists. Trying to be politically correct and avoid verbalizing this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no way to win if you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you are fighting.
SO WITH THAT background, now to the two major questions:

1. Can we lose this war?

2. What does losing really mean?

If we are to win, we must clearly answer these two pivotal questions.

We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound, the major reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not fathom the answer to the second question: What does losing mean?

It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business, like post-Vietnam. This is as far from the truth as one can get. What losing really means is:

We would no longer be the premier country in the world.

The attacks will not subside, but rather will steadily increase. Remember, they want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us quiet, they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks against us, over the past 18 years. The plan was clearly, for terrorist to attack us, until we were neutered and submissive to them.

We would of course have no future support from other nations, for fear of reprisals and for the reason that they would see, we are impotent and cannot help them.

They will pick off the other non-Muslim nations, one at a time. It will be increasingly easier for them. They already hold Spain hostage. It doesn't matter whether it was right or wrong for Spain to withdraw its troops from Iraq. Spain did it because the Muslim terrorists bombed their train and told them to withdraw the troops. Anything else they want Spain to do will be done. Spain is finished.
The next will probably be France. Our one hope on France is that they might see the light and realize that if we don't win, they are finished too, in that they can't resist the Muslim terrorists without us. However, it may already be too late for France. France is already 20% Muslim and fading fast!

If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life will all vanish as we know it. After losing, who would trade or deal with us, if they were threatened by the Muslims. If we can't stop the Muslims, how could anyone else?

The Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We better know it too and be likewise committed to winning at any cost. Until we recognize the costs of losing, we cannot unite and really put 100% of our thoughts and efforts into winning. And it is going to take that 100% effort to win.

SO, HOW CAN we lose the war?

We can lose the war by "imploding." That is, defeating ourselves by refusing to recognize the enemy and their purpose, and really digging in and lending full support to the war effort. If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. If we continue to be divided, there is no way that we can win!

Let me give you a few examples of how we simply don't comprehend the life and death seriousness of this situation.

President Bush selects Norman Mineta as Secretary of Transportation. Although all of the terrorist attacks were committed by Muslim men between 17 and 40 years of age, Secretary Mineta refuses to allow profiling. Does that sound like we are taking this thing seriously? This is war! For the duration, we are going to have to give up some of the civil rights we have become accustomed to. We had better be prepared to lose some of our civil rights temporarily or we will most certainly lose all of them permanently.

And don't worry that it is a slippery slope. We gave up plenty of civil rights during WWII, and immediately restored them after the victory and in fact added many more since then.

Do I blame President Bush or President Clinton before him? No, I blame us for blithely assuming we can maintain all of our Political Correctness, and all of our civil rights during this conflict and have a clean, lawful, honorable war. None of those words apply to war. Get them out of your head.

Some have gone so far in their criticism of the war and/or the Administration that it almost seems they would literally like to see us lose. I hasten to add that this isn't because they are disloyal. It is because they just don't recognize what losing means. Nevertheless, that conduct gives the impression to the enemy that we are divided and weakening. It concerns our friends, and it does great damage to our cause.

Of more recent vintage, the uproar fueled by the politicians and media regarding the treatment of some prisoners of war, perhaps exemplifies best what I am saying. We have recently had an issue, involving the treatment of a few Muslim prisoners of war, by a small group of our military police. These are the type prisoners who just a few months ago were throwing their own people off buildings, cutting off their hands, cutting out their tongues and otherwise murdering their own people just for disagreeing with Saddam Hussein.

And just a few years ago these same type prisoners chemically killed 400,000 of their own people for the same reason. They are also the same type enemy fighters, who recently were burning Americans, and dragging their charred corpses through the streets of Iraq.

And still more recently, the same type enemy that was and is providing videos to all news sources internationally, of the beheading of American prisoners they held.

Compare this with some of our press and politicians, who for several months have thought and talked about nothing else but the "humiliating" of some Muslim prisoners __ not burning them, not dragging their charred corpses through the streets, not beheading them, but "humiliating" them. Can this be for real?

The politicians and pundits have even talked of impeachment of the Secretary of Defense. If this doesn't show the complete lack of comprehension and understanding of the seriousness of the enemy we are fighting, the life and death struggle we are in and the disastrous results of losing this war, nothing can. To bring our country to a virtual political standstill over this prisoner issue makes us look like Nero playing his fiddle as Rome burned __ totally oblivious to what is going on in the real world.

Neither we, nor any other country, can survive this internal strife.

Again I say, this does not mean that some of our politicians or media people are disloyal. It simply means that they are absolutely oblivious to the magnitude, of the situation we are in and into which the Muslim terrorists have been pushing us, for many years.

Remember, the Muslim terrorists stated goal is to kill all infidels! That translates into all non_Muslims __ not just in the United States, but throughout the world.

We have been criticized for many years as being 'arrogant.' That charge is valid in at least one respect. We are arrogant in that we believe that we are so good, powerful and smart, that we can win the hearts and minds of all those who attack us, and that with both hands tied behind our back, we can defeat anything bad in the world!

We must be united on this war or we will be equated in the history books to the self_inflicted fall of the Roman Empire. If, that is, the Muslim leaders will allow history books to be written or read.IT IS YOUR future we are talking about! Do whatever you can to preserve it. We all must do this not only for ourselves, but our children, our grandchildren, our country and the world. Whether Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal and that includes the Politicians and media of our country and the free world!"

Bet You Haven’t Heard About This!

The US Army had a fantastic interceptor missile test, this past week, with the new THAAD missile, which was built to intercept, and completely destroy an enemies in-bound missile and it’s payload. The test went swimmingly. Much better than expected, or even hoped for! It indicates that we have arrived. All the research, and development, and testing, has given us an end product that works… and works so well that we have a one on one capability with inbound enemy missiles. That mean simply, that if one missile is headed for us … we can send one missile up to take it down and not a whole raft of missiles… as in a shotgun blast.

Now, why haven’t you heard about this? Huh?

Well, the people who edit what you read, and hear, on the news networks, and in the newspapers, do not want you to hear anything which might actually sound like, or lead you to believe that, the Bush administration has, or can do, ANYTHING RIGHT!

Information is power, Dear Reader. And the more information you have, the more power you have, and you become a threat to the mainstream media. It is in their interest to keep you, and I, fat, dumb and happy! And they are busting a gut trying to do just that.

If you kept up with the news, over the weekend, you know that the UN has tapped North Korea on the wrist (Note… I did not say “slapped” . No, it was much lighter that a slap!). Of course, North Korea is delighted and told them to “go scr*w themselves”! Iran, long ago, flipped the bird to the UN. So, there is no other country, on the planet, able to deal with these two rogue nations. Nobody but the US. The entire planet has become a ward of the US and that includes that rat’s nest of thieves and rogues in the UN.

So… now that we have a missile, and several interceptor missile systems we know will work, lets keep them to ourselves. I know, I know, President Reagan offered to give it to Russia. But I don’t think we should. I think we should keep it to ourselves and allow the threat to build up over Europe until they either fold to the Moslems or, decide to get off their scared duffs and fight like anyone with an ounce of common sense and backbone would. In other words, by withholding this technology from Europe, we make it a fight, or die, situation for them. Some of us call that “Tough Love”!

Now that we have the means, let’s build “Fortress America”. Pull our troops back from all over the world and let all those nations we have been standing between all these years to have at each other, as they have wanted to do for many decades. The last nation standing gets to deal with us. Either fight us to the death, or trade with us… and co-exist with us.

I am tired of spending our blood and our treasure to insure the safety of some limp wristed Europeans and have them stick it to us every chance they get… like France for instance.

I have often thought, in recent months, there appears to be only one friend to the US left with the masculinity to stand by our side and fight. One nation, which has not forgotten the blood Americans shed to keep them free. That nation is Australia!

Thanks, Aussies! Thanks for being a friend. When the chips are down, the Aussies are the folks I want at my back!

In the meantime, lets get those missiles into mass production, off the assembly lines, and into service. I have a huge back yard here on the mid-Atlantic coast. The US government is welcome to it if they want to place a missile battery here. Heck, I’ll give it to ‘em!

Do Not Try to Restrain Israel! Urge them ON!!!

Restraint! Restraint! Israel Must Be Restrained????? Has the world gone mad???

The idiots calling for Israel to restrain from hitting the godless enemies of their state are the reason Israel has to fight this war, to begin with!

The problem has been far too much restraint, on the part of Israel, and, I happen to believe, the restraint they had employed, up to now, has been as a direct result of urging from the US.

Now, all bets are off!

It’s about time!

If the US wants to do something useful, get the heck out of Israel’s way and allow them to fix the problem, once and for all. Further, the US should be employing it’s satellites to locate the launching point of the rockets hitting Israel and give those coordinates to the IDF, and let the Israeli pilots take them out!

I am convinced that the main reason, and there are many, but the main reason, this “war” drags on and on, across generations, is that the US will not get out of the way and allow Israel to clean out the territory around them.

I mean, we have a country, in Israel, ready to fight, ready to secure their part of the world... and… between the UN and the Euro-weenies, and the American Left, and even the “Bleeding Heart Libs” on the American Right, the "weeping and wailing" has been nothing but an impediment to any kind of peace in that area.

So long as the Moslems know they have nothing to fear from the remainder of the world, and as long as they know that when Israel attempts to defend themselves the American Left, and the aforementioned accomplices in the UN and Weenie-Land (Europe), will throw themselves beneath the treads of the IDF tanks and protect the rabid terrorist… why the hell SHOULD they stop killing Jews??? It happens every time. The terrorist can count on it… and they do!

I am overjoyed to see Israel give the finger to everyone and say to the world: “by God, we will live in our homes, we will protect what is ours, and we will secure our little patch of the planet earth… whether you like it or not! So deal with it!”

That’s what freedom-loving people do. That’s what people who actually love their country do. That’s what people who actually love their families do. That’s what brave warriors, thankful for what their country has provided for them, do. That’s what REAL men and Real women do! They fight for their country. They fight for their families; they fight for their freedom. The Israelis know, and they understand, the cost of freedom… and they know what happens, from first and second hand experience, what happens when you don’t fight for your freedom.

So, no, do not restrain your troops, Israel. Urge them on! Your actions provide hope to country’s like mine . Countries which have grown fat, and lazy, and whose leadership is weak and spineless and have lost their love of freedom and their understanding that out here, in the hinterlands, where THIS writer lives, are people who DO still love this country… people who will STILL put their lives on the line, in a heartbeat, to maintain the freedom our ancestors bled and died for.

Israel is a shining example of all the things a democratic warrior nation must be. (It is impossible to be a democratic nation and NOT be a warrior nation!) She is kind and loving toward her people and... merciless and unforgiving toward her enemies. THAT is the way it should be. That is the way it must be if a democratic nation is to survive.

If the US military were allowed to fight, as the IDF does, the war in Iraq would have been over in less than a week! Iran would be a blackened ruin on the face of the earth. The mountains of Tora Bora would be a memory recognized only by their blackened, radio active, heap of ash.

So… Go Israel! The American citizen is pulling for you! Forget the anti-Semitic UN and the “Jew hating” countries of Europe. Ignore all the self-serving whining coming for the gaggle of (so-called) Leaders meeting at the G-8. Listen only to the voice of your God and your people, Israel. Do what you must to ensure your survival.
