We knew it was just a matter of time. So, apparently the Obama administration has decided it IS time.
How many times have we warned that ObamaCare would punish American gun owners? We were shouted down each time.

Now, we can see the attempt by the Obama regime to tie guns into some sort of health issue in order to make gun ownership fall under the auspices of Obamacare where gun control will be a huge issue.

Simply put, under Obamacare there is a strong likelihood that if you own a gun you will not get healthcare insurance. Read the article at the link above for a better understanding of how the Obama regime is going about this.

Why else would the national HEALTH agency (NIH) be studying gun control issues -- or any issue having to do with guns? To fix solidly in the collective mind of the public that guns (and gun control) is really, is actually, a HEALTH issue. Tell a lie long enough and people begin to believe it.

Thirteen years ago Congress cut off funds to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), which was used for studies pertaining to gun control. So far that has not slowed the NIH. (National Instututes of Health)

Now we have ObamaCare grinding it’s way through Congress and we can’t help but notice the strong possibility that with the extension of government control into the everyday lives of American citizens, which ObamaCare will certainly do, it provides the perfect vehicle for gun control. By establishing gun violence as a health issue it will fall within the purview of the universal health care laws. Once that is done, it is a very simple step, indeed, to declare that an Obama Policy holder who owns guns, even for self-protection in the home, does not qualify for national healthcare. Turn in your guns and get your healthcare, or keep your guns and don’t get healthcare. Wait a minute! It will be against the law not to have healthcare, so you must turn in your guns or be fined, and not have healthcare, or heaven forbid, go to jail and not have healthcare… or simply turn in your guns and have healthcare -- and all is well. See? Is it clear now? OK. So maybe not. But I think you begin to understand why it has gun owners across the nation, and a few in Congress, worried.

There is an excellent article by Karen De Coster entitled “Stealth Agencies for Gun Control" in which the author states: “But in the end, even the CDC couldn’t make its research work in favor of its agenda. Its own studies could not link gun control laws to the reduction of crime. Nevertheless, any time the government studies “gun safety,” you know that in spite of the fact that all the research in the world will not support its end goal of the necessity of disarmament, the aim is to produce enough information, studies, and opinions to influence the public against gun ownership and persuade them to internalize the emotional aspect of the issue, thereby leading them to despise guns, distrust gun owners, and desire more government intervention to make gun ownership more difficult.

The anti-gun movement is built on pure emotion – hating guns and being afraid of guns – so building perception among the masses through fear mongering and emotional coercion is much more essential, and uncomplicated, than actually proving a hard case through a mishmash of statistics.” We recommend this article to you. The point is – the leftist "gungrabbers" of America have not been resting; they have been very busy making ready for the possibility of a leftist President and a leftist Congress, which they now have. They also have the perfect vehicle to carry their plans for the disarmament of American citizens into federal law – ObamaCare.

ObamaCare is not about healthcare. It is about POWER. It will be the largest transfer of power from the people of the United States to the government of the United States in the history of the country and could, very well, cause the collapse of the United States.

A huge percentage of the American citizenry will resist any disarmament. They will not give up their guns. If forced to choose between the US Constitution and the US Government, they will choose the Constitution every time. A great conflagration can be expected to ensue. Only a fool swaddled in a fool’s vanity can claim ignorance of a future America ripped in twain by the lust for power of elitist, leftist, utopians in search of a society that has never existed, does not now exist, and never will exist.

The National Healthcare bill must be stopped, cold, in the US Senate. It is time to pressure your senators to vote against any National Healthcare bill. They need to hear from you. They need to hear from you NOW!

One Apology Too Many

Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina should never have apologized the first time.

As a resident of North Carolina for nearly fifty years, and a native of South Carolina, I qualify as a “Carolina Boy.” I am as much at home in one Carolina as the other. Thus, you have my "bona fides."

If you paid attention in history class, you may have noticed that we “Sandlappers,” of South Carolina, are famous, or infamous, depending upon your viewpoint, for our hot tempers. It doesn’t take a great deal to set us off and then we tend to burn hot for rather a long time. The last time the men of South Carolina lost their collective tempers it took four years and a lot of blood, sweat, and gunpowder to quench it.

Nobody is completely sure of the source of all that passion. But never doubt it, we are a passionate people. We may speak a little slower than you folks in the cooler climes but we think and act just as fast. Our slow speech can be a little off-putting and disarming and we often use it to charm our way to a sought after goal. It has been said that if America had a natural warrior class it would be the southern male. South Carolina is justifiably proud of her son’s performance in all the wars America has seen fit to involve herself in whether within her borders or without.

When secession became imminent, back in 1861, South Carolina was the first state to vote for secession – and -- South Carolina was the only Confederate state to vote unanimously for secession. You see, in South Carolina, it is 100% -- or nothing. We don’t do anything half way.

I tell you this so you will not be surprised when Joe Wilson, the Congressman from South Carolina who called the President a liar, in public, does not apologize again. Many of us think his one and only apology was one too many.

I, for one, believe Congressman Wilson was correct. Why? Well, it seems that some of the folks over at the White House admitted, late last week, that ObamaCare would, in fact, need a verification system of some kind to keep illegal aliens from receiving free healthcare under ObamaCare. Now, here’s the problem. It seems that every time a verification system comes up in the discussions -- the democrats oppose it – effectively killing it. Last we heard, no verification system had been agreed upon. So, as it stands, illegal aliens WILL receive free healthcare under the current plans for ObamaCare! Of course, that is subject to change. Yeah. Right!

In an article titled: “Tea Party Crowd Stands Behind Republican Rep. Joe Wilson” CNSNEWS.COM reports the following: “The House bill -- in Title II, Subtitle C, Section 246 – states that there will be “no federal payment for undocumented aliens.” However, the legislation provides no mechanism for verifying the legal status of beneficiaries, making it difficult for insurers and medical personal to know who legally qualifies for federal subsidies under the plan.” You can read the entire article HERE.

Well, there IS another way to “fix” the problem and that is for Obama to kick his “amnesty for illegal aliens plan” through Congress and -- Walla! No illegals aliens, and -- they get free healthcare, too!

So – what is there for Congressman Wilson to apologize for -- the truth? Wilson told reporters: “"I've apologized one time. The apology was accepted by the president, by the vice president, who I know. I am not apologizing again."

Sen. James DeMint (R-S.C.) is reported to have said: “Joe apologized for saying what he did in that setting, but he proved to be right,”

Of course, the Democrats are having their usual conniption fits. They vowed to propose a resolution of disapproval this week if Wilson did not publicly apologize to Congress. Earlier this week the US House formerly rebuked Congressman Wilson. If a “rebuke” by THIS Congress were not so ridiculous it would be funny! If anything, Congress ought to be apologizing to the American people! Many of us REBUKE THEM daily!

As we have learned over the decades one can always count on the Democrats to play the “race” card at every opportunity. This incident presented a terrific opportunity for them to do so. They trotted out former President Jimmy Carter who promptly tossed the race card into the mix by reportedly saying: “I think it's based on racism. There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president." Carter, apparently upset at recent demonstrators who had compared Obama to Nazi leaders, is reported to have said: “Those kind of things are not just casual outcomes of a sincere debate on whether we should have a national program on health care." Carter went on to say: "It's deeper than that."

Just so we are clear here, if Jimmy Carter was still in the White House and was proposing the same healthcare program as Obama, I, as a conservative southerner, would be opposing him every bit as much as I oppose Obama! Further, if his actions and proposals resembled those of the Nazis, as a part of the loyal opposition, I would be derelict in my duty if I DID NOT point that out to the American people!

It certainly appears the democrats are extremely delicate. They suffer from a malady known as “thin skin.” It is manifest by the easily observable fact that they can dish it out – but they can’t take it!

Mr. Carter referred to “a sincere debate” over Obamacare. Mr. Carter KNOWS the last thing Obama and the democrats want is a REAL debate. The fact is, and they are fully aware of it, they cannot win by debating their proposals on ObamaCare! A debate will only allow the American public to learn more about ObamaCare. We already know the more Americans learn of the power grabbing, socialist, program called ObamaCare the less they like it.

According to a Rasmussen Reports article -- "... one week after President Obama’s speech to Congress, opposition to his health care reform plan has reached a new high of 55%. The latest Rasmussen Reports daily tracking poll shows that just 42% now support the plan, matching the low first reached in August.

Seventy-four percent (74%) of Democrats now support the plan while 80% of Republicans are opposed. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 67% are opposed." You can read the entire report HERE.

Many, many, questions about the constitutionality of ObamaCare are waiting for the Supreme Court to answer. When one compares ObamaCare to the Bill of Rights, one can readily see that a number of amendments are in jeopardy.

We southerners were expecting this kind of reaction if Obama was elected President. More than once, long before the election, I heard southerners lamenting the expectation that if they opposed a “President” Obama they would be derided as “racists.” You see, we KNEW it was coming. As a southerner, I do not hesitate to tell you that choosing between Wilson and Carter is not a difficult task. While Carter is an embarrassment to me as a southerner, I am proud to support fellow southerner Congressman Joe Wilson.

Now, I admitted that I am a Carolina Boy at the beginning of this piece and proudly so. As a result, I am sure that it comes as no surprise to you that I would defend Congressman Joe Wilson. At the same time, it should not surprise you that what troubles me about the entire incident is not Congressman Wilson’s conduct, but the less than honest conduct of the President of the United States.

Back in “the day” there was an expression that went something like this: “When you can fake sincerity, then you’ve really got it made!”

I think of this expression, and the absolute truth it represents, every time I hear that Obama is making, or is about to make, a speech. Well – truth be told -- I have NEVER heard Obama make a speech. No lie. The man hasn’t a thing to say that I want to hear -- other than “I resign.”

I have to admit – he IS one of the all time great ones. I mean, it is really difficult to look another person in the eye and lie through your teeth, but Obama has mastered that skill. Combine that with faked sincerity and the gullible of America will stampede just to get in line to hear his lies. And do not DARE to call him a liar! Why that is pure blasphemy! In other words -- do not dare to speak the truth about all the glib promises he is making especially about socialized medicine in America.

When you step back and survey the way the country is divided over ObamaCare you quickly see the folks supporting Obama are the folks who want, oh so badly, to be made fools of. You can point out the truth to those people all day long, until you are blue in the face, and it will do no good. They have made up their minds. They will follow the empty suit in the Oval Office right off the cliff of the looming socialism. They resemble, for all the world, the followers of Jim Jones as they guzzle down Obama’s kool-aid.

Obama’s promises cannot be kept. It is IMPOSSIBLE. He cannot supply healthcare for everyone in America without raising your taxes and rationing healthcare at the same time. Even the government agencies charged with checking such things say it is impossible. Yet, the “true believers” kneel at Obama’s feet and worship as they chant, “Yes, we can! Yes, we can!”

Look, The US is B R O K E! We are W I T H O U T F U N D S! We are, temporarily, financially embarrassed. Call it what you will, the fact is -- we cannot afford ObamaCare. We cannot dredge up the money it will take to pay for it – PERIOD!

Try a little experiment. Next Friday and/or Saturday evening pay a visit to the Emergency Department of your local hospital. Look at the crowds waiting for medical help. Take note of who those people waiting are. They are being treated at no cost to them. You and I, the folks with insurance pay for them as the cost is spread out over my hospital bill and yours when we receive medical treatment at that facility.

The crowds at some Emergency Departments have been so large the hospitals have been forced to close that department down completely. They simply could not afford to stay open. The financial drain was too much for the hospital.

Now, just imagine the size of the crowds awaiting treatment under ObamaCare when there is no “apparent” cost to the recipient of those services. There is NO WAY the existing hospital staff will be able to handle those crowds. SOMEBODY is going to be turned away, or given a number and told to report back in a week, or a month, or six weeks, or even a year. THAT is called healthcare RATIONING! It is not just a possibility -- it is a certainty!

And another thing: Where are all the doctors and nurses coming from to man those ER departments and where are the funds coming from to build the new hospitals and clinics that absolutely will be required to handle the hugely increased demand for free healthcare? Where? Some reports say we can expect as many as 50 million new patients increasing the drain on our existing facilities and the few primary care doctors we now have. Considering the fact that we are already experiencing a shortage of those primary care doctors today, many, many, more primary care doctors are going to be needed almost overnight. Where are they coming from?

When considering thatnearly half of America favors ObamaCare, I must tell you that leads me to believe that we need some sort of National Mental Healthcare Program – and that’s for certain. Sane people don’t act this way. Sane people do not accept a continuing flow of lies from anyone without question.

"Something for nothing" is the most welcome promise of all and really good con men know that. They use it all the time. Obama is no different. He is making the same empty promise with his offer of free healthcare for all without costing the recipient anything. There it is: “Something for Nothing."

There is no doubt in my mind that before the year 2009 is ended the US will have some sort of Socialized Medicine. It is the price we will pay for electing the socialists of the Democratic Party to power. Already, in barely seven months, the democrats have raped, and sacked, and looted our country. They have bankrupted the treasury and caused every man woman and child, now alive in the US, to bear the burden of some $40,000.00 debt to the US government. And that is BEFORE they slap us with Socialized Medicine!

The plain truth is, dear reader, if America is to survive the damage done by the democrats we must begin at the ballot box in 2010. We must vote out every democrat seeking re-election and those seeking office for the first time must be turned away. The very survival of the USA depends upon it.

Editor’s note: Back in July, of 2007, I wrote the following missive. Of course, at the time none of us knew just how deeply into our private lives ObamaCare would eventually reach. Now that we have had a glimpse of the bill, it turns out I was far too conservative in my predictions.

What follows is the article I wrote in 2007. A ways down the page you will see a list of some of the freedoms we Americans will lose if ObamaCare actually passes into law in it’s current configuration. Notice how deeply into your personal life ObamaCare will reach. Your life, and that of every member of your family, will be an open book to the government.

We are continuing to lose our privacy, here in America, at an ever-increasing speed. There is hardly a place in America one can go, these days, without being seen by someone’s security cameras. I recently stood in a parking lot of one of the Big Box stores and counted 22 cameras zeroed in on the parking area, and entrances, and exits, to the store. And that was just on the OUTSIDE, at the front, of the store!

And those red-light cameras? Don’t get me started on that!!!

If you think Big Brother’s snooping is bad now… just wait… it will get worse, a LOT worse, if we allow it.

If you think it’s bad now, wait until we have national health insurance. Our every move will be monitored, and we will be directed, by the government, in every facet of our lives.

Weigh too much? Lose weight… or the government won’t pay for your medical bills.

Drive too fast? Slow down or the government won’t pay for your medical bills if you’re in an accident.

Smoke? The government won’t pay for your medical bills, period.

Have more than (two) kids? Your medical bills will not be paid if you exceed the allowable limit on babies.

Pregnant with a third child and the government insists that you have an abortion, but you really want this third child? Well, either have an abortion, or that third child will have no medical coverage and the cost of the pregnancy, and delivery, will not be covered, either.

Didn’t finish High School? Your medical bills will not be covered if you do not get a High School Diploma.

Take the wrong courses in college? Well, if you didn’t check before you signed up for a course, and you signed-up for a course the government thinks is uncalled for, or that you do not need for your chosen occupation… then your medical bills will not be picked up by the National Healthcare.

Own a gun? Why, everyone knows there is an epidemic of deaths due to handguns in America. So it is a health issue. National Healthcare will not pay for your medical bills until you turn in your guns to the government!

Choose the wrong career, and you are on your own! No medical help from the government.

As promised, listed immediately below are just a few of the freedoms we now enjoy - the loss of which I did not envisage when I wrote this piece back in 2007. Alongside each one is the page number of the bill where the actual reference to each particular item can be found - if you choose to look them up. Here goes:

Get the picture? Almost total control. And you, and I, will have given that power to the government! (Or your employer) After a while, there won’t be much difference, anyway.

So, next time you hear someone calling for National Healthcare, remind them of all the freedom they will give up for that cradle to the grave care.

The founders of this country wanted us to live free - healthy, if we can manage it, but free, in any event. Today, it seems we are prepared to give our freedom up for a form of modern day Marxism - Socialized Medicine.

If you are as old as I am you probably remember those old “Rest Homes.” For those of you who are not as old as me, basically, some of them gave the impression they were nothing more than warehouses where Americans stored old people waiting their turn to die. Some were really bad. They smelled of urine, feces, disinfectant, and death. Well, guess what? Under Obamacare something, which seems very like them, is on the way back onto the American scene… only this time they will be called “Medical Homes.” Oh, and don’t worry about the doctors in these Medical Homes. Under the current plans - there won’t be any. They will be run by nurses and nurse practitioners. You can learn more about the proposed Medical Homes HERE. Before you read it, prepare to be frightened... very frightened!

Back before the War for Southern Independence, Americans understood the power of the tenth amendment to the US Constitution. They understood the people of the states had the power to nullify actions of a US Congress which did not represent the people of the United States as they had been sworn to do… you know, sorta like the crowd we have in the US Congress today.

It was bound to happen. Americans are beginning to consider attacking the ObamaCare HealthCare Overhaul, sometimes referred to as: Nationalized Healthcare, Universal Healthcare, and Public Option Healthcare. (They’ll call it anything but what it is: Socialized Medicine!) through nullification acts of the states.

By the way, you may have noticed the socialists in the federal government have insisted on changing all reference to "Goverment-Run Healthcare" to "Public Option Healthcare." The idea is straight out of "Propaganda 101." Remove any and all reference to GOVERNMENT-RUN Healthcare and replace it with the words: "PUBLIC OPTION HEALTHCARE." It is supposed to help you forget that ObamaCare is, in fact, Government-Run Healthcare and make you believe that it is YOUR CHOICE. It takes the onus (Onus: meaning the burden, or burden of proof) OFF the government and places it solely on YOU! As I said, it is physcological warfare, of a sort. They are playing with your mind. They are treating you and I as the fools they believe us to be!

Yeah, you heard correctly… nullification. Now, that’s a word we haven’t heard tossed around much since the days just prior to the “Late Unpleasantness.”

See, this is what happens when the American people feel they have a government that is NOT REPRESENTING THEM! And frankly, not since the early to mid 1800’s have I read of a US government less inclined to listen to the people it purportedly represents than the current crowd we have taking up space in Washington DC.

Back to Nullification:

Nullification is an American tradition. It dates from as far back as the late 1700’s. Some of the states are looking at it for protection from the US Congress and the current presidential administration. What has them fired up? Plainly put - it is ObamaCare, or “socialized medicine.” They don’t want it in their states. And, they do not want the federal government forcing it on them.

In Florida, State Senator Carey Baker and State Representative Scott Plakon, recently , filed a proposed State Constitutional Amendment (HJR37) as a means to prevent Floridians from being affected by any Federal Health Care Legislation. If approved by the legislature, Florida residents could be voting on it as early as 2010.

The bill includes the following:

(1) A law or rule shall not compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in any health care system.

(2) A person or employer may pay directly for lawful health care services and shall not be required to pay penalties or fines for paying directly for lawful health care services. A health care provider may accept direct payment for lawful health care services and shall not be required to pay penalties or fines for accepting direct payment from a person or employer for lawful health care services.

Out in Arizona they have ALREADY passed a piece of legislation titled "The Healthcare Freedom Act" and there are reports that at least ten other states are expecting to have similar legislation introduced in their coming legislatures.

What is happening here is… the American people are questioning the legality of the federal government to force this socialized medicine on the people of this country. They say the tenth amendment denies the federal government that power. They may well be correct. Here’s the text of the tenth amendment:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

So, when a state nullifies a law passed by the federal government that state is saying that that particular law has no effect within the boundaries of that state. They nullify that law.

These nullification acts date all the way back to James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. These two National Forefathers drew-up the first nullification acts both in Virginia and in Kentucky. It was thought then, and is still thought by many today, that states are sovereign entities and that the states have the constitutional power to make a decision for themselves as to whether the federal government has exceeded it’s authority under the terms of the US Constitution. If the states decided that the federal government has, in fact, overstepped, then the states had/have the power two simply refuse to obey those laws passed by the federal government that were/are outside the constitutional boundaries set by our forefathers in the US Constitution.

We warned over and over again that socialism would tear this country apart. Now that our federal government has decided that socialism is the way to take the country, even though socialism has a proven record of failure time, and time, and time again, the US has begun to disassemble itself. State legislatures have already begun to reassert themselves as sovereign states and have now begun to nullify federal laws within their states. It is going to get a lot uglier, dear reader, when the federal government decides it must use force to motivate the states to obey those laws the states say are unconstitutional. But, just as we warned in 2007 and 2008, THIS is what a nation gets when it opts for socialism and elects a socialist as President and hands over the reins of the Congress to socialists as well.

So Many Questions. So FEW Answers!

The Urban Dictionary defines “Bum’s Rush” as: “To be jostled or hustled to move you, or get rid of you, or get you to do something that someone wants you to do - that you don't necessarily want to do.”

Now that we have everyone up to date on that portion of the lexicon most nearly associated with what the Congress is doing to Americans these days, let us now speak of ObamaCare the socialized medicine legislation the democrat/socialists are ramming through Congress and down the throats of the American people.

First I want to urge you to write, e-mail, fax, phone, or even send a telegram to your congressperson and senators demanding that they fight ObamaCare and vote no on any portion of the legislation that may come before them. Believe me, the dems are going to throw this legislation at the congresspersons and senators as fast as they can, in the dead of night if they can. In other words - they intend to do whatever it takes to get this ObamaCare legislation passed through the Congress, if it is humanly possible, by the end of July.

We warned you this was coming. Well, it is here. ObamaCare and Cap and Trade - both are coming up at Americans fast and furious - along with the full Senate’s consideration of the President’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor. ALL of this is coming at the American electorate like the Bum’s Rush we spoke of above. Rest assured… more is on the way.

For now, though, lets focus on this “Healthcare Overhaul,” as the President likes to call what you and I refer to as… ObamaCare.

Have you considered just how complicated a bill like the ObamaCare proposal would, of necessity, have to be? I mean, just think about it. Think of all the things a bill similar to ObamaCare would have to be. The intricacies of such an all-encompassing bill are staggering. It boggles the mind. Yet, the democrats want the Congress to vote on it, without ever having read it. Now, you and I both know that reading something, anything, and considering that same thing are two entirely different things. Why, reading one of your old healthcare insurance policies is so complicated you need an attorney by your side to interpret much, if not most, of it and the layman, unskilled in the law, is lost within a few paragraphs. And THAT, dear reader, is only a single Insurance policy for a single person, or, at most, a single family. There is just SO much to be considered!

I happen to be one of the millions of Americans cursed with a chronic disease, which rendered me “uninsurable.” Believe me, when I tell you, I know the value of having insurance. I also happen to be a former insurance salesman back in my misspent youth. So, my concern over the intricacies of ObamaCare is very real. For instance: I wonder if Obama Care cover diseases like Crohn’s Disease? Oh sure heart disease, diabetes, and such will be covered, but how about the little known, less “sexy” diseases such as the one I mentioned a sentence or two before this one. Will they be covered? And, who will make the decision(s) about what is covered and what is not?

If your Chronic Disease is not covered by ObamaCare… What Then? That is just ONE of the questions nobody has answered, at least to my knowledge, YET, about the President’s new Healthcare Overhaul proposal… and there are so many more! What size bureaucracy are we talking about here - huge, maybe? How about humongous!?

What about medical research and medical innovations? Up to now, the government has participated in medical research and development with taxpayer money as grants, etc, to development labs all over the country. But, one must ask, what happens when the government is insuring everyone and their primary concern has turned to holding the costs of that treatment down? All that R&D money will have dried up as it is sucked from the treasury by the costs of treatment.

Of course, the really BIG fight is just now beginning to elbow its way to the forefront. That’s the fight over whether, or not, ObamaCare will cover the costs of abortion. This fight is bound to get down and dirty, and do so quickly, once the bell rings and the bout begins. Of course, they could always decide NOT TO DECIDE, at least for now, and revisit the issue at a more favorable time in the future, for one side or the other.

By now, you should be getting a glimpse of just how incredibly intricate devising a socialized medicine scheme is for America - a country which has not, until now, actually considered socialism as a form of government for ourselves. It is here that we must bring ourselves to understand that we will be replacing our “republican”(The US is a Representative Republic.) form of government with a “socialist” form of government.

In the meantime, Americans are being herded toward acceptance of this HUGE piece of a Socialistic boondoggle at near record-breaking speed. But, thank goodness for small favors. The Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Thursday (07-23-09) that there will be no vote on “ObamaCare”, in the US Senate, until AFTER the August recess.

The more Americans learn of ObamaCare the more they become convinced thy do not want it! That explains the “Bum’s Rush” we mentioned at the beginning of this commentary. The democrat/socialists (in charge of the US government these days) KNOW if they have a chance of winning this fight, they MUST get ObamaCare passed through the Congress and signed by the President BEFORE American citizens wake-up to what they (The Congress and the President) are about and what is in the bill and what is NOT in the bill – and - just what it means for our form of government.

I cannot stress this enough: It is extremely important that Americans become involved in this fight! If you who wish to maintain the democratic Representative Republic the US has enjoyed since it’s founding, and you want to guard against a socialist take-over of our government – then you MUST become involved.

The country asked very little of its citizens. Mostly, it asks that you obey the laws and defend it. We have arrived at one of those occasions when you, as an American citizen, are accorded the privilege, yes, I DID say privilege, of standing up to be counted among the hosts of those Americans who value their country which was placed in their care by a group of men and women, the likes of which the world has never seen the match.

We have reached a point in this struggle, which suggests the need for supernatural interference. I am suggesting, here, that prayer be employed as a weapon in this conflict. As I said above, it is impossible to stress enough how much power this bill will place in the hands of our government. This is power that could be used against all Americans, even those Americans yet unborn, on the whim of a Congress or a President at sometime in the future. Already you are beginning to realize the financial strain it will place on the country and on its citizens.

ObamaCare must go down to defeat. In my humble opinion, that defeat can be made a reality ONLY by Americans working together to, once again, defend this great land from a threat that is decidedly domestic.

In the words of that American hero, Todd Beamer: “Let’s roll!”

This “Healthcare Overhaul” the Obama Administration and the democrat/socialists are trying to ram down the throats of Americans has more politics in it than the entire US Congress put together!

We have somewhere between 12 million and 20 million illegal aliens inside the borders of the US right now, today. Under ObamaCare they would receive free healthcare just as the Americans who live here legally, work in the US, and pay their taxes. That’s right! 12 million to 20 million illegal immigrants will receive taxpayer-subsidized health insurance coverage. And consider this: The Healthcare plan now in the Senate Finance Committee actually exempts illegal aliens from the mandate to buy insurance. You may recall that a part of the bill would make it mandatory that LEGAL citizens of the US have Health Insurance or be fined. But, hey, if you are in this country illegally, having broken in and violated the law, you can receive the same healthcare as the legal folks who are paying for it with the hard-earned money they gave to the federal government in taxes. Oh, of course, even though you are illegal you will be expected to support the Democratic Party. Oh, that last part (about supporting the Democratic Party) isn’t written down anywhere, but it is understood , even so.

We taxpayers of the US are already paying through the nose for medical care for illegal aliens - even though the folks who want the US borders thrown wide open try to sell us the garbage that illegal aliens do not cost US taxpayers anything in medical costs. That is unmitigated Bovine Scatology! Recently, USA Today reported that here in my own state, North Carolina, the cost to the people of the state for emergency Medicaid for illegal aliens increased by 28%! And that is just in ONE STATE!

What do you think is going to happen when the folks, who are south of the border, learn that ObamaCare passed into law and they learn of the FREE MEDICAL CARE in the US provided by the gringos? Why, there’ll be a stampede north! The Border Patrol will have to get out of the way - or be trampled! If you want to get a taste of how bad it will be, pay a visit to the Emergency Department, or ER, of the hospital nearest you on some Friday or Saturday night and just stroll through the waiting area and see for yourself who is there.

WAKE UP AMERICA! YOU ARE GETTING SCREWED BY THE DEMOCRATS… AGAIN!

It is maddening to watch my fellow Americans bend over, assume the position, and take, with a smile, what the democrats are offering.

A number of years ago Ronald Reagan said the following:

“As if we’re not already overextended enough financially, the issue of National Health Care is now on the table once more vote. Here’s some perspective you might find interesting.

Now back in 1927 an American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate for president on the Socialist Party ticket, said the American people would never vote for socialism. But he said under the name of liberalism the American people will adopt every fragment of the socialist program.

One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.

Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it. We had an example of this. Under the Truman administration it was proposed that we have a compulsory health insurance program for all people in the United States, and, of course, the American people unhesitatingly rejected this.Let’s take a look at social security itself. Again, very few of us disagree with the original premise that there should be some form of savings that would keep destitution from following unemployment by reason of death, disability or old age. And to this end, social security was adopted, but it was never intended to supplant private savings, private insurance, pension programs of unions and industries.

Now in our country under our free enterprise system we have seen medicine reach the greatest heights that it has in any country in the world. Today, the relationship between patient and doctor in this country is something to be envied any place. The privacy, the care that is given to a person, the right to chose a doctor, the right to go from one doctor to the other.

But let’s also look from the other side, at the freedom the doctor loses. A doctor would be reluctant to say this. Well, like you, I am only a patient, so I can say it in his behalf. The doctor begins to lose freedoms; it’s like telling a lie, and one leads to another. First you decide that the doctor can have so many patients. They are equally divided among the various doctors by the government. But then the doctors aren’t equally divided geographically, so a doctor decides he wants to practice in one town and the government has to say to him you can’t live in that town, they already have enough doctors. You have to go some place else. And from here it is only a short step to dictating where he will go.

This is a freedom that I wonder whether any of us have the right to take from any human being. All of us can see what happens once you establish the precedent that the government can determine a man’s working place and his working methods, determine his employment. From here it is a short step to all the rest of socialism, to determining his pay and pretty soon your children won’t decide when they’re in school where they will go or what they will do for a living. They will wait for the government to tell them where they will go to work and what they will do.

What can we do about this? Well, you and I can do a great deal. We can write to our congressmen and our senators. We can say right now that we want no further encroachment on these individual liberties and freedoms. And at the moment, the key issue is, we do not want socialized medicine.

Former Representative Halleck of Indiana has said, “When the American people want something from Congress, regardless of its political complexion, if they make their wants known, Congress does what the people want.”

So write, and if your representative writes back to you and tells you that he or she too is for free enterprise, that we have these great services and so forth, that must be performed by government, don’t let them get away with it. Show that you have not been convinced. Write a letter right back and tell them that you believe in government economy and fiscal responsibility; that you know governments don’t tax to get the money the need; governments will always find a need for the money they get and that you demand the continuation of our free enterprise system. You and I can do this. The only way we can do it is by writing to our congressmen even we believe that he is on our side to begin with. Write to strengthen his hand. Give him the ability to stand before his colleagues in Congress and say “I have heard from my constituents and this is what they want.”

Write those letters now; call your friends and them to write them. If you don’t, this program I promise you, will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow, and behind it will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country. Until, one day, as Normal Thomas said we will awake to find that we have socialism. And if you don’t do this and if I don’t do it, one of these days we are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children, what it once was like in America when men were free.”

It was excellent advice then and it is certainly excellent advice today.

So the big push has begun! The big push for socialized medicine in the United States. Altho, there is little funny about this boondoggle, it is sorta funny to watch the socialists in the US government, including the Obama Administration, tie themselves into knots to avoid using the words “socialized” and “medicine” in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence. Nevertheless, that is exactly what they are proposing… socialized medicine. And again, I expect ignorance to overcome logic and sound reasoning as the government shoves socialized medicine down the throats of American citizens and, in so doing, bring about the collapse of the best healthcare system in the world.

If you are one of those who actually think they are doing this because they care about you, you really need to see a shrink about your mental health, I mean your “delusions.”

America is about to experience something we have never had before in our history. Rationing of healthcare. There is simply no escaping it. Costs of healthcare will have to be brought to heel by the Obama administration and there is only one way to do that… and that is to ration it. In other words you will be placed on a waiting list and your ailment will be treated whenever they get to you, in a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or a couple of years, or maybe never. If you don’t get the care you require and you die, so much the better. That is the other way of bringing healthcare costs down.”

My wife had surgery a few days ago. The surgery was performed by a robot. Yep! A well-qualified doctor was supervising the robot, of course, but the robot did the work. The machine, we were told, costs 2 million bucks per copy. I pleaded with my wife, in the few minutes we had before she was whisked away to the operating room, to take extreme care, and for goodness sake, do not damage or break that 2 million dollar robot.

The machine is so complicated it sometimes takes hours to set it up between procedures and, as a result, it can only perform two surgeries a day.

It took only a few days, less than a week, to have the paperwork, blood work, radiological workup, and the surgery performed and return home, in my wife’s case. I was left sitting in one of those uncomfortable chairs in an ultra-modern waiting room, surrounded with huge TVs with drive-in movie size screens and stereo sound, plus a progress board, all lit up, and hanging on a wall, showing the progress of your patient in the surgical process as the hours dragged by. Those of us waiting had the option of relaxing in an area of the “pavilion” where hot coffee and snacks were offered. We were given a “beeper and every hour or so, the beeper would go off and someone from the surgical team would come out and bring us up to date on where, exactly, our patient was in the process and how, generally, the patient was tolerating the supreme invasion of a knife, even a knife wielded by a robot.

The kind of “express’ healthcare we experienced and described above, will be a thing of the past if Obama and the Democratic Socialist Party gets their way and they create and install a government run healthcare system. Of course, they are going to deny that and tell you that folks like me, who actually tell you the truth about such things, are “full of it” and don’t know what we are talking about. The sad thing about all of this is that by the time you find out that those of us warning against a government system are, in fact, telling you the truth, it will be too late and healthcare in the US will be scraping the bottom of the barrel like so many other socialized medicine programs around the globe. In other words it will be too cussed late to do anything about it!

One other thing: Do not feel secure, if, like me, you have your own private health Insurance, Why? Because the government run plan will run the private plans out of business. The private plans will not be government subsidized. The government plan(s) will. How can the private plans even be expected to compete against the government plans when the deck is so stacked against them? The simple answer is… they can’t. Soon you and I, with our private health care plans, will eventually wind up on the government health dole --- whether we want to or not --- and that’s the ultimate plan!

In an article titled: “Obama's 'Public' Health Plan Will Bankrupt the Nation” Lawrence Kudlow says: “And does anybody believe Obama's new "public" health-insurance plan isn't really a bridge to single-payer government-run health care? And does anyone think this plan won't produce a government gatekeeper that will allocate health services and control prices and therefore crowd-out the private-insurance doctor-hospital system?

Federal boards are going to decide what's good for you and me. And what's not good for you and me. These boards will drive a wedge between doctors and patients.” Kudlow goes on to say:”…. the Obama Democrats are determined to force through a state-run system that will bankrupt the country.” Read the entire article HERE.

Currently, there are four plans under consideration. One would simply expand Medicare. It would be a fully government run program and would not have to remain solvent to remain in business. The second would be set-up by the government and be required to remain solvent while establishing their own networks and payment schemes. Then there is the plan to have each state create it’s own state insurance following government guidelines. And the one with the least chance of making it out of committee is to have no government plan at all --- and instead --- clean up the current private insurance programs and police them better than they have in the past.

If all this sounds like a mess, believe me when I tell you that it IS a mess!

Look, you get nothing for free. Everything has a price, a cost. The cost may be hidden, but, believe me, it is there. The price of socialized medicine in America will be so unbelievably high if will be impossible to hide. The government will have to choose between continuing to raise taxes to pay for it, or reduce the amount of healthcare available to the patients.

There is always the threat of a tax revolt in America if the government continues to raise taxes. Many believe the tax revolt has already begun with the American Tea Parties. The first round if those tea parties saw an estimated one million Americans meeting, all across America, to protest taxes already levied by the government on her citizens. Another wave of Tea Parties are expected on July Fourth, the birthday of the nation, and many in the Republican Party now suspect the American Tea Parties are simply the birth of a third political party in America.

The GOP is between a rock and a hard place here. If they do not put up an extremely good fight against Socialized Medicine in America, there is good reason to believe there will be a mass migration of conservatives from the GOP and into other conservative political parties. The American Tea Party will be perfectly positioned to welcome those migrants into their conservative party.

The Democrat Socialist Party would be well advised to tread lightly on socialized medicine. It could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for them.
