Singing Trio Still Feeling Public's Rage!

A while back, the "Dixie Chicks" made a stupid error and "dissed" the President from a "live" stage performance overseas. That just isn't done… if you expect your fans, in Dixie, to buy your records. As was expected, there was a huge backlash and the Chicks lost loads of money.

They hastily issued an apology. But the damage was done.

Now, here they come, again, with another restart of their career and wouldn't you know it, they retracted their apology! Of course, fans are shrinking back from them AND their products. A number of performances have had to be cancelled due to low-ticket sales and the sales of their records have dropped off precipitously. It would seem the old adage: "some people never learn" actually IS true!

Robert E. Meyer, over at "The Reality Check", has a post expressing the feeling of many Americans towards the "Chicks" these days. It's well worth a read. You'll find it at:

Yes, we have freedom of speech in this country. But, never forget, we also have the freedom to disagree with the content of anyone's speech and to refrain from aiding the speaker in spreading his, or her, message, even… if that means doing without whatever it is he, or she, is selling. The trio seems to have forgotten that.
