The Media

The mainstream media in this country has sold us out. No longer do we get the news, and only the news, we get opinion as well. Trouble is… the opinion is mixed in with the story (being written or broadcast).

The other problem is… the left leaning bias of the major news media outlets in this country. Both Print and Broadcast. The left-leaning bias instantly leaps off the page at the reader.

The New York Times owns a regional newspaper, which happens to be near me. The paper is so left-leaning, in its reporting and on it’s editorial pages, that it has become a laughing stock to the readers of the region in which it circulates. Nicknames abound for this paper. All have some socialistic connotation. We conservative subscribers have no "print" alternative to this paper.

The national media has given up even attempting to look unbiased. They have openly declared their colors for the Democratic left in this country. That’s fine with me. Their help was invaluable in electing President Bush to his second term and insuring the Republican hold on the Congress for many years… well into the future.

They seem to have no idea their ranting, against the conservatives in this country, only serves as a demonstration of all the things conservative parents warn their children about. Abortion on demand, same-sex marriages, inclusiveness, diversity, political correctness rather than honesty, indecisiveness, lack of leadership, the inability to take a stand and not be moved, their instant flexibility, the ranting about the National Guard. (Boy, did this one really PO a few million former, and current, members of the Guard and Reserve.) Do you begin to get the picture?

Well, if you do, they haven’t. They cannot pass up a chance to talk down to those of us among the great unwashed. So, they continue to do it. It is nearly unbelievable. But, it is, as I said above, invaluable to us as conservatives. This is a great service they are rendering. We cannot thank them enough!

As conservative parents we no longer have the Soviet Union to point to as a demonstration of the failure of the socialist system. But, thank goodness, we still have the press in this country, and their sycophants in our government. They have not let us down. They continue their undiminished diatribe against religion, the family, the military, and business. Business because they still can’t stand the fact that we are a Capitalist country. Our business is business.

I religiously (no pun intended) read the editorial pages of the leftist publication in my area. (With glee) I read the “Letters to the Editor” from the loony leftists in that city, which has become known, in my area, as “San Francisco, East”! It is clear they haven’t a clue as to why they lost the election, nor why they will lose the next one.

So, as we begin a new year, and the second term of President George Bush, please allow me to express my deep appreciation for the incalculable assistance of the Media, in this country, and the world.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press… keep up the good work!

Longstreet

An excellent conservative newspaper would be Human Events. It's very good, and several prominent Republican authors have served as editors and contributors.

Also, why didn't you mention that quote; you know the one.

Walter Kronkite, "If you get republicans out of the way, I beleive that democrats will find a way to run a decent TV Station." (He said this IN THE BLOODY 1970's!)
