INDEPENDENCE and GUN CONTROL in the USA.

Tomorrow is July 4th. The Day Americans celebrate as the day we won our independence from Great Britian.

Now, if you want to talk about truth being inconvenient, then allow me to remind you that America won her independence with the GUN!

I'm not a shill for the NRA, I'm not even, currently, a member. But, I have to tell you that The Gun made us free and the gun will keep us free... as long as we do not allow our government to take them away.

Back in January of 2005 , I pennned the words below. I thought it would serve as a very good reminder as we approach the celebration of our Independence.

So, tomorrow, as you enjoy your picnics and your fireworks, remember how you got your freedom.

Gun Control…Controlling the Citizenry

A government cannot control its citizens without gun control in the extreme. I mean… taking away the guns of those citizens.

The founders of the US understood this and they thoughtfully granted the citizens of the US the right to bear arms. So long as the citizens exercise that right we will be free. Soon after giving it up, we will be a totalitarian nation. It is just that simple.

I have heard all the arguments for taking away our guns and they all ring hollow when presented side by side with the facts.

Look, if you want to reduce gun deaths in America, you have to change people’s conduct. The gun is just a cold piece of machinery. It does what it is commanded to do.

The silly argument, which says the founders intended only members of the Militia to possess arms, is ridiculous. OK, who is the militia? Huh? No, it is not the National Guard. No, it is not the Reserves, and no, it is not the organized Armed Forces of the United States. Let’s look at the Federal Law on the militia. Paraphrasing the US Code title 10, section 311: “all males born in the US are automatically members of the US Militia from age 17 through age 46”.

I’m not a member of the NRA. But, I wish them well.

Our freedom is far too precious to allow the anti gun lobby to take it away. The gun bought us our freedom and it keeps us free. Take away the gun and those with murder in their hearts will still murder… by other means. Remember, Cain had not a single gun.

In the Nation’s capitol, where gun ownership is illegal, they have more murders than any other place in the country. How can that be? Murder comes from the heart, not from the gun.

A wise man once said: “Freedom stands on five boxes: The Soap Box, The Ballot Box, the Jury Box, the Witness Box, and… the Cartridge Box".

There can be no compromise with those who would disarm our populace. We must fight to keep our second amendment rights, for nothing less than our freedom is at stake.

One of our founding fathers had this to say on our right to bear arms:
[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation...(where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. ---James Madison,The Federalist Papers, No. 46.

Finally, no less a person than “founding father” Patrick Henry said the following:
“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined.”

Never give up your gun for... it is your freedom.

Are We About to Lose Another Historic Site?

Fort Johnston, near Southport, NC, is in danger of become a homeless shelter.

This Fort has a long and colorful history and should be preserved for the people of North Carolina and, indeed, the people of the US.

But today, we must wonder if the Fort Johnston will long survive.

"History Challenged" could so easily be used to describe the citizens of the US, today. To lose this Historic site is simply another symptom of a people, with no anchor, drifting in the currents of time and bound to wind up on the rocks. How can one know where one is going, if one doesn't know where one has been?

Preservation of "Historic Sites", in the US, should be a priority of the American people. Instead, historic sites are being bulldozed with shopping malls, apartment building, motels and hotels, and now, the possibility of a homeless shelter, defacing their sacred history.

(Now, before I am deluged with hateful comments about my "insensitivity to the homeless", let me say that homeless shelters, unfortunately, are necessary. But, I fail to see how destroying a genuine Historic Site, to provide one, is necessary.)

America is adrift. Is it any wonder?

The Chicom cars are coming!!!

Be the first on your block to own a Chicom car!

Oh, yes! the Chinese are coming… in cars. The cars are expected to be ready for sale to the US public in 2007.

Now, somehow, I find it almost impossible to see US citizens tooling around town in a car made by an enemy of this country. True, we are, if not the largest trading partner of Red China, surely we are in the top half dozen, or so. But, it’s somehow different to buy a product for several dollars, at one of the Big Box stores, which has the label “Made in China”, and buying a several thousand dollar car with the label: “Made in China” on it.

I mean… these are the people with nukes pointed at us. These are the people we will most likely be at war with, shortly, over Taiwan. These are the people who have been moving, strategically, all over the globe, for many years now, positioning themselves for the coming war with the US. As an example, they now control both ends of the Panama Canal. So, that door is closed to us whenever they decide to close it. These are the people who gave us all those lasting images of “Tanks versus People” in Tianamin Square.

Heck, I still won’t drive a Japanese car because I cannot forgive them for, nor forget, Pearl Harbor and all the American deaths in the Pacific Campaign during WW-2.

We have very short memories in this country.

We fought the Red Chinese to a standstill at the 38th Parallel in Korea in the early ‘50’s. Technically, we are still at war with North Korea, as no peace treaty has yet been signed. We maintain thousands of troops on the border between the two Koreas, even today, to act as a trip wire should the North Koreans and Red Chinese decide to try their luck once again.

Taiwan is the next flash point; it would seem, between the Chicoms and the US. As soon as Taiwan declares its independence we will be at war with China. We have a treaty with Taiwan to come to their defense should this happen. We cannot “not honor” that treaty! We must put the US forces between China and Taiwan. Do not underestimate the Chinese military. What they lack in technology they make up for in sheer numbers.

So, now they want more of our money by selling us cars? Oh yes, people will buy them. Those with loyalty only to their pocketbooks.

Me? Oh sure, I’ll buy one. Just as soon as hell freezes over!

Democrats and Grown-ups!

Democrats and Grown-ups !

(Impeachement is rearing it's ugly head again. Some of the MSM outlets were speculating
recently whether the Dems would try pushing, once again, for impeachment after the most recent Supreme Court ruling concerning military tribunals. Back in February, This post ran for the first time. It seems timely to run it again!)

Something has been scratching at me until it has created a sore spot and I need relief. So I’m going to unload.

Those of you who are insistent upon impeaching the President… listen closely!

You go ahead with your plans and the Republicans can guarantee you that your next President will find himself, or herself, in the dock of the Senate being impeached and hounded from office. Two can play at that game.

I’m gonna break my own rule here, because I am royally P.O’ed.

You Democrats are forgetting the most important aspect of any fight, political, or otherwise. Down South we spell it out explicitly: It is: “When you go after ass… you take ass with you!The Military puts it this way. “When you find the enemy within range of your guns, remember… you are within range of theirs!”

Look, you can’t impeach a president because he embarrasses you! You seem to forget that he may embarrass you… but not the remainder of the country! You see, everything is NOT always about you!

I disagree, a great deal, I mean... a great deal, with this President. But I am not going to make a fool of myself by calling for the impeachment of the President just because he does things I don’t like! Mr. Bush never again has to face the voters. Neither does Mr. Cheney. Remember, a knee jerk reaction to Mr. Nixon's antics gave us Jimmy Carter. Carter proceeded to make the Oval Office a joke. The next Democrat President made it a "DIRTY" joke. Yes, the Democrat Presidential record is less than sterling.

But, if you insist on pressing the ridiculous impeachment plans, it is going to blow up in your collective faces and you will find yourselves out of power in this country for an even longer period than the generation (30 years) I see now. As of this moment the American voter is less than pleased with either party. They continue to wait for the Democrat party to put forth some plans for America, just one plan, on anything would do for a start! But, you see, that would take intelligence and sober thinking, and the Democrat party finds itself frighteningly short on both! Not to mention... it is a lot less work to stand on the sidelines and snipe away at those who actually try to work for America rather than against her.

You are on extremely thin ice, as it is. The American public, by and large, are fed up with your bitching and moaning, and “woe is me” attitude, and your constant, continuous, efforts to belittle and embarrass this country at every turn.

If the Sedition laws, which were repealed in the 1920’s, were still in effect, the jails would be packed with you.

Now, let me make this as clear as I know how. I take responsibility for my vote! Yes, I voted for President Bush! Yes, given the same choice as the Democrat’s provided in the past two elections, I’d do it again… in a heartbeat… and so would the majority of Americans. So, DEAL WITH IT!

I’m tired of the whining, the childish behavior, the threats, the obfuscation, your hate of our military, your lack of faith in America, your tolerance of ONLY THOSE WHO AGREE WITH YOU, your bigotry, your racism, your smarmy “we’re smarter than you” attitude, your animalistic moral code of “anything goes”, your hatred of religion, your tree-hugging paganism, your human secularism, your vacuous, empty platitudes, your filthy-mouthed ranting, and… well, I could go on, but that’s enough for now.

When you Democrats get your house in order, if you can, and decide to join the “grown-ups” in governing this great land, then we’ll deal with you. Until then, we’d appreciate it if you’d just keep quiet and allow those with the attitude, and the aptitude, to run the country.

When you have something to offer, and can present it in a less than juvenile way, then we’ll listen. Until then, forget it!

400 Years Ago, the Earth Was As Hot As It Is Today!

So the Earth hasn’t been this hot in 400 years, right? Well that’s what some experts are saying. (Some even go further and say 2,000 years. Seems to be it must not have been a problem 2,000 years ago, as the Chief Weather Man, for the universe, was here, on earth, and could have turned the universal thermostat down a bit had He chosen to.)

Now, doesn’t that mean that 400 years ago (or 2,000 years ago… you pick.) the earth WAS this HOT! You betcha! And that bears out what we have said over and over on this site… that earth’s weather is cyclical!

So, the experts tell us this increase in the earths temp is caused by man. Ummm. Let’s see, 400 years ago was the 1600’s, right? I guess all those factory smoke stacks belching smoke into the air contributed to THEIR increase in temp, and all the automobiles fouling the air with their exhausts… all the hair spray, and all the air conditioners, and all the… wait a minute! They had NONE of that stuff in the 1600’s! And they damn sure didn’t have it in the year one… or six… or whatever! Yet they were just as hot then as we are today! If, of course, you believe this latest data.

And these folks never miss the chance to tell us how much this affects the hurricanes and they go on to predict the growth in size, and strength, of the storms even though the “actual hurricane experts” say they are flat wrong. Those super storm hurricanes come around, every so often, and have throughout history.

But the global warming experts are dead set on scaring the hell out of the public.

And for goodness sake… I wish they’d stop throwing up the damage Katrina did to New Orleans and stop trying to tell us it was some sort of a super storm. Katrina was NOT A SUPER STORM. Katrina was a CAT 3 when she came ashore! Why was there so much damage? Well, first of all, MAN chose to build a city next to the ocean in a SINK HOLE!!! That’ll get you multi-millions of dollars in damage every time!

Most of damage done in New Orleans was as a result of human failings… not Katrina! How many times do we have to say it!

Plus, the Global Warming weenies have just decided to forget the Atlantic Multi-Decadal Oscillation. Every few decades ocean currents move warmer water, than usual, into the Atlantic, and we get more frequent hurricanes, some of which are more powerful than others. Happens like clockwork.

I am more convinced, than ever, that the so-called Global Warming crap is a politically motivated boon dogle of the public. What else could it be? I mean, look at the facts yourself. The experts cherry pick facts and totally ignore the findings of men of science who have studied the climate since before there were computers.(GASP!)

Many in the science community are frightened not to agree with the heavyweights in the Global Warming Cabal. They are frightened their government grants and government funding will be pulled... effectively placing them in the unemployment lines. They’re scared to death!

The gullible American public and the Euro-weenies are getting the “Bum’s Rush” on Global Warming. They are coming at us so fast and with so much... that the average lay person cannot digest it all and we just decide to accept what they tell us a truth.

Well, some of us ole knot-headed Bubbas don't do that! I mean, I don’t do that. I have some wiring screwed-up in my head and my reaction is just the opposite. When I’m hit with seemingly insurmountable piles of data, rather than accept the findings, I balk, and I begin to question why I’m being covered up with this stuff in the first place! Can’t help myself. As I said, I’m hard wired that way!

I am convinced there is a political movement underway to strip American citizens of their constitutional rights under the blanket of environmentalism and global warming. What a great cover under which to take away your rights, little by little!

Sounds paranoid, doesn’t it? Well, dear reader, when this kind of crap is going on, paranoia is just GOOD THINKING!!!

Yes!!! The globe warms up, and the globe cools down. It’s been that way since oh, about day five or six! That’s how we get Ice Ages. None of us, alive today, have seen an ice age, so we have nothing to base an experience on save the pabulum we are fed in school and by the enviro-freaks. An entire generation grew up, and is about to draw their social security, and THEY think history began the day they were born!

Good Lord, people! Get a grip! You’re being railroaded with all the malarkey about Global Warming!
