Approaching America's Moral Crossroads

Who said this and when?
”…it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official act my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the universe, who presides in the councils of nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that His benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the people of the United States a government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes…No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the Invisible Hand which conducts the affairs of men more than those of the United States.”
It was George Washington during the course of the first inaugural address. Having led the army of the Revolution from June 15, 1775 to December 23, 1783, eight long years, Washington had returned to Mount Vernon to live out his life as a private citizen, but he was called back to public service as the nation’s first President from 1789 to 1797.
In so many ways, Washington set the tone for the presidency and the nation as someone guided by his faith garnered from the Old and New Testaments. This is in sharp contrast to our present President who invariably refers to “the holy Koran.”
America has always worn its belief in the Creator as a badge of honor and was established, as the Puritan leader John Winthrop said, to be “a shining city on a hill.”
The Constitution, however, was achieved only with a major compromise regarding slavery; one that would require a Civil War to end the abhorrent practice. Most of the Founders knew this. Many had been born into or ascended to the planter class in an era when slavery was the accepted order of the day and they opposed it. It deeply offended their personal sense of morality even if this source of labor was deemed necessary at the time.
Thomas Jefferson said, “Bigotry is the disease of ignorance or morbid minds…Education and free discussion are the antidotes of both." It is the unfortunate legacy of his era that racism remains a potent force in American life to this day.
Men are imperfect creatures, subject to their passions, and through civilization’s long history of Judeo-Christian beliefs they have turned to religion to tame their baser instincts and to reinforce their better ones. Americans most affirmatively embraced faith-based religion and, in particular, tolerance as a national religion.
We have seen that Islam accepts no tolerance and demands global submission. Western civilization has been is locked in a war of survival with Islam since the seventh century.
For 236 years America has sought to set the example to the world of the blessings of liberty and freedom as “one nation under God.” The nation began with the Declaration of Independence that asserts that “all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights…”
The tens of thousands who turned out for Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day are testimony to the push-back occurring in America today. It troubles many Americans that there are dark forces at work to diminish their freedom to express their faith in God and their religion’s codes of ethics and behavior.
A moment of prayer, a simple act of piety, has been banished from our schools. Demands that symbols of faith be removed from the public square have increased. Efforts to silence the clergy who minister to our armed forces are underway. Separation of Church and State—found no where in our Constitution—has been twisted into efforts to diminish the public role of the churches and synagogues when it most emphatically does not mean freedom from religion.
The most solemn belief in the sanctity of human life, particularly of the Catholic Church, has come under attack with the passage of Obamacare.
Many faithful believe that a president who endorses same-sex marriage is endorsing the destruction of the moral heart of our nation and society.
As American principles, anchored in religious faith and commonly held moral teachings, come under attack, Americans are increasingly aware of the two forces that remain the greatest enemies of morality as defined by Western civilization. One is communism and the other is Islam, the antithesis of Judeo-Christian values.
As Americans of all faiths approach the national elections in November their vote may prove a tipping point toward America’s continued slide into the darkness, into the slavery of communism, into the further encroachments of Islam, into a moral abyss, or it can be the day that Americans renew their faith in what America stood for in the past and the values it can champion in the future.

A State of Palestine = The End

Word is that sometime later this year the people who call themselves Palestinians will hit-up the UN for statehood. THIS time they will appeal to the UN General Assembly and there is every reason to believe they will be recognized as a state, a country.
If you think things are bad in the Middle East today, You ain't see nothing yet!
The creation of a Palestinian state will do nothing to bring stability to the region. In fact, there will be more war, more instability, and more suffering.
A Palestinian state would effectively open up a front that starts ten miles from Tel Aviv and reaches 1,000 miles deep across the Arabian Peninsula to Teheran. That, alone, will be cause for Israel to go on their highest military alert and stay there 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In other words… all the time.
The buffer zone Israel counts on to give her time to activate her reserves and get them mobilized will no longer exist. That short period of time, so vital for the defense of Israel, will be gone. Therefore, Israel will have no choice but to adopt what, for all practical purposes, will be a “state of war” as a normal, everyday, lifestyle.
And it won't just be Israel in the gun sights of the Arabs who call themselves Palestinians. Little Jordan will be toast!
If you are among those who have bought into the school of thought, which says Israel would be the first target of a Palestinian State military, then may we respectfully suggest that you "think again!"
No. The military minds have another thought on that. They think Jordan will be Target One.
Why?
Think about it for a moment. Eighty percent of Jordan's population is made-up of those Arab refugees who call themselves Palestinians. They HATE the Hashemite Kingdom. In fact, they tried to overthrow the little kingdom over 40 years ago -- in 1970.
Think about this, also: Jordan is the only remaining moderate, western-oriented Arab state in the Middle East. The Palestinian State cannot allow the continued existence of Jordan as it is today. Nope. Jordan has to be brought to heel.
Once Jordan has been taken back, effectively, to the 11h or 12th century, then the State of Palestine's military will be enlarged by the wholesale enlistment/conscription of those Palestinians already in Jordan -- THEN they can turn their attention -- and their guns -- on Israel.
What we can expect is a blood bath in the Middle East. These so-called Palestinians are the people who personify HATE and teach it to their children less their vigor for killing Jews grows dim. Even their children's textbooks teach hate!
Why is no one -- outside the world's banking community -- asking about Palestine's preparations for taking it's place among the nations of the world? It's a legitimate question and one, I think, for which the answer is chilling.
Don't you think the US and other countries should be asking if there has been any preparation for oh, say, industrialization for the new country of Palestine? How far along are they on developing export markets? And, for goodness sakes, we need to know if the government of Palestine has given any thought, at all, to negotiating trade arrangements with their next-door neighbor, Israel?
I think we all know the answer to every one of the above questions is… NO.
So, it is safe, then, to assume that a state of Palestine would be racked with poverty, which will require billions of dollars in foreign aid (A huge chunk of which will come from the taxpayers of the US) from which the chieftains of the new state of Palestine will bleed off their shares -- and get rich -- while piling up hordes of cash in numbered bank accounts far from the Middle East.
Creating a State of Palestine is, itself, a terrorist plot against the world. The UN will be creating a second rogue state in the Middle East. It would better be named "West Iran" than Palestine. The state of Palestine will be run from Tehran, owned and operated by the mad mullahs of Iran.
A Palestinian state will only ensure the continuation of war, terrorism, and bloodshed. The one thing we can be sure it will NOT bring to the Middle East is… peace.
When one stands back and considers, as objectively as possible, the problems caused by recognizing a Palestinian state one can instantly see that the stage is being set for a massive regional war in the Middle East with Israel, Iran, the US, Russia, and China ALL involved.
For my Christian brethren this may sound uncomfortably familiar. Things happen in that part of the world when the ancient markers are moved -- or removed.
Establishing a State of Palestine would not necessarily be the beginning. It could, in fact, mark the end.

"We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.
"We operate as a family business ... our restaurants are typically led by families; some are single. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We are very much committed to that," Cathy emphasized.
"We intend to stay the course," he said. "We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles." -- The preceding was the response of Mr. Dan Cathy president and chief operating officer of Chick-Fil-A a company 1,608 restaurants that had sales of more than $4 billion dollars last year. Back in June, on the Ken Coleman radio show, Mr Cathy said this: "“As it relates to society in general, I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage. Mr. Cathy's remarks were quickly followed by this: "This week, mayors of Boston, Chicago and San Francisco warned Chick-Fil-A and its CEO Dan Cathy, who’s been an outspoken opponent of same-sex marriage, not to pursue new franchises in their cities. Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said he shares his fellow mayors’ concerns and would consider trying to block the chain as well.

One mayor, typically full of himself, is reported to have said this: “Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicago's values” Considering that the city --over which this "bloviator" presides -- IS Chicago, I have to ask if he isn't over-stating the blatantly OBVIOUS?
Even the fact that Chick-Fil-A is not open on Sundays seems to also aggravate the guilt-ridden mayors. "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy" seems utterly lost on them and, frankly, nearly all of America, which CLAIMS it is a Christian nation.
Come on, dear reader. Let's be honest! Twenty-first century America resembles more a cesspool than a Christian nation.
Chick-Fil-A opened it's first store in 1946. I remember 1946. My uncle bought a brand new '46 Ford that year. He didn't buy it on a Sunday. Why? Because there was hardly a store or restaurant, of any kind, open on Sundays. In America, Christians decided Sunday would be the Sabbath. If you wanted it, or needed it, you purchased it on Saturday -- or you waited until the stores opened for business on Monday. If it was a medical emergency, you called the pharmacist, or doctor, and met them at the store or office, usually through the back door, got what you needed, and you went home.
Today, Sunday in America is like any other day.
Living in America today, for anyone attempting to live by the tenants of Christianity, is akin to slogging through an overflowing septic tank. It is barely possible -- and then -- only with the assistance of a benevolent God.
America's values system is so muddled there are no longer any clear markers of right and wrong. There are no absolutes, anymore, for Americans, as a whole. Only the few who cling to their religion seem well-rooted and actually seem to know what they are doing and where they are headed.
We have done to the Ten Commandments what so many want to do with the US Constitution by proclaiming that it is a living, breathing, document. Do you really think they would hesitate gutting the constitution if they have not a single iota of respect for the law of man's Creator? REALLY?
If America has a single religion to which the majority of its citizens subscribe, it would have to be our popular or "pop" culture -- and it is rotten to the core.
The filth pouring from our movie houses, our TV's, the Internet, even the games we play, are equal to, or exceed, the horror of anything ever seen in the Roman Colosseum.
There is a never-ending sewer of hedonism emptying into our homes 24-7. The endless flow of profane exhibitions of blood and gore have desensitized Americans and blunted our ability to feel guilt at our own inhumanity to our fellow man. We have become a nation of psychopaths devoid of conscience and lacking feeling or empathy for our neighbors. There is no cure for the psychopath.
Today, packs of wild animals, purportedly human, wander the streets of our once great cities smashing, killing, terrorizing, and reveling in the blood spilled as a result of their animalistic behavior. (Truth be told, animals rarely kill for sport.)
Our nation is hurtling toward self immolation -- and we cannot decipher the cause? Surely, you jest!
Unbelievable!
Seems to me, the mayor was correct in his assessment of his city's values compared to the values of Mr. Cathy. Sadly, the same applies to America as a country. We have long since forsaken the values of the Judeo-Christian faith and gleefully embraced the dark values of self destruction. We ate, drank, and made merry -- and lost our national soul.
Unfortunately, Mr. Mayor, you were absolutely correct. The values of your city, indeed, the values of the country, no longer bear any resemblance to those of Mr. Cathy. And America is worse for it, sir.
We haven't even enough national conscience left to feel shame or remorse for our putrefaction. We're numbed by our own overexposure to pleasure, instant gratification, and the total avoidance of anything that might rein in our pathological pursuit of self satisfaction.
There is no longer room in the equation representing our lives for anything as precious and enduring as the values Mr. Cathy holds dear, the very same values that built this country and made her great. The rot of moral relativism has eaten away the framework of our republic and left her an empty shell of her former self.
Each of us is a co-conspirator in the betrayal of America's founders and forefathers. We have, little by little, transformed their dream into a nightmare. We extracted our core values much like extracting a fuse from a fuse box -- and we wonder why America went dark. Now, as the poet so aptly described it -- we curse the darkness.
Often a lier, caught in his lie, will lash out at the person or persons revealing his falsehood. The same holds true for those who live a lie.
Mr. Cathy's recent remarks shone a beam of light into America's deepest and darkest problem. Had we the good sense to apply that light as a solution to our national distress we would be better for it. Alas, that did not happen.
Not only have we cursed the darkness, we also cursed the light.

It’s official or, well, semi-official. The Washington Blade which identifies itself as “America’s leading gay news source” reported on Monday, July 30, that the Democratic Party platform had approved the language of “pro-LGBT positions” to be included in the party’s platform.

The platform is still in a draft phase, but reportedly will include a plank approving same-sex marriage and rejecting the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The Obama administration let it be known that it would not defend DOMA despite the fact that it is federal law. And, of course, Obama came out for same-sex marriage in May.
For those unfamiliar with DOMA, it was signed into law by President Clinton on September 21, 1996 after passing both houses of Congress with large majorities. Ah, for the good old days when Democrats actually supported marriage between a man and a woman.
Marc Solomon, the national campaign director for Freedom to Marry, was one of the witnesses testifying in favor of the “marriage equality” plank. How much marriage equality can the nation handle? There are people who are extremely fond of their pets. Will tree huggers insist on the right to marry an oak or a redwood? The variations are endless.
Solomon is quoted in The Blade saying, “As I testified to the Committee on Friday, the Democratic Party has a noble history of fighting for the human and civil rights of all Americans.”
Whoa! Solomon apparently is unaware that it was a Republican Party President named Lincoln who issued the Emancipation Proclamation or that the opposition to slavery was a major component of the Civil War. For a century after their defeat the former Confederate states not only fashioned the system of Jim Crow laws, but were the steadfast opponents of civil rights legislation right on through to the 1960s. Maybe they don’t teach U.S. history to gay boys and girls in our schools anymore?
A Huffington Post article reported that “The Democratic National Committee had hesitated to push for same-sex marriage as a platform plank as recently as this March, with LGBT sources telling The Huffington Post that they were getting pushback from party officials.”
Aside from the hideous economic, energy and foreign policies of the Obama administration, does anyone—including deluded liberal Democrats—think that including a plank favoring same-sex marriage and opposing the Defense of Marriage Act is going to produce enough votes to retain the Senate and the White House, let alone win back the House?
According to Wikipedia, “As of April 2011, approximately 3.5% of American adults identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual, while 0.3% or transgender—approximately 11.7 million Americans.”
So, to lock in those LGBT votes, the Democratic Party will include their plank. Or not. The final text of the party platform will not be voted on until the convention in September, though the close-to-final draft will be presented to the full platform committee in Detroit from August 10 to 12.
I do hope the plank becomes part of the platform if for no other reason that it is guaranteed to offend the millions of Americans who believe in the institution of marriage, are sick of Barack Obama, and are tired of the non-stop gay propaganda to justify homosexuality as a “normal” lifestyle in a world populated by billions of happy heterosexuals.
