Definition of an "Extremist".

(From May of 2005)
*******************
Definition of an Extremist.
*******************

Let’s see… so far I have been called an extremist, a Nazi, a 3 year-old child, a nutcase, crazy, a dictator, red-neck, ignorant…and these are just the names I can print! WOW! And all the name-calling is coming from the Political Left, those wonderful folks who gave us “tolerance”. We, here at "Insight on Freedom", must be striking in the "quick”. Which means... we are right on target!

Gosh, it really troubles me that... all these years, when we thought we were just average folks, we were so out of touch with the “average” Joe.

So let me take stock:

Let’s see…. I’m Southern American male, Caucasian, 64 years old, a military veteran, a Lutheran, a member of the American Legion, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a Republican, a writer, a wood worker, a 30 year retiree of the broadcasting business, A husband, a father, and a grandfather. I shop at Wal-Mart and K-mart. I drive a pick-up, which is parked, beside my wife’s GM sedan. I own my own home. I have a fairly good education, including a trade school and some college. And I vote… in every election.

I support the death penalty.

I believe there are absolutes… absolutely right and absolutely wrong. I believe in good and evil. I do not believe in “relativism”.

I do not support abortion, except… to save the life of the mother, or in case of rape, or incest.

So far as homosexuality is concerned … It goes against the teachings of my Christian faith, which is Scripturally based. I believe it to be, as my faith teaches, a sin. But, what you do in your own bedroom is YOUR business. Just stay out of my face, with it, and don’t insist that I accept it.

I believe the Constitution was written by a group of men who meant what they said and said what they meant. I think the Supreme Court does us no favors by ”finding” rights in the Constitution which, clearly, are not there. I believe the constitution should be interpreted as it was originally meant…which is simply… as it was written. I’m an “Originalist”.

Separation of Church and State…if it was in the Constitution, I would have no problem with it. As it is, there is no such clause and the clause so often referred to… is meant to prevent the establishment of a State Church. I believe religion and politics should remain apart. I also understand that each will influence the other and there is no way to insure that does not occur.

I believe in a strong military. I could easily become an isolationist, but I know the remainder of the world will not allow that. So we must keep our guard up and as we have one of the smallest military forces we have had in a very long time, we may often have to strike first. I’m OK with that. I hope the draft will not be necessary, but I believe it will… and this time it will draft both men and women.

I have a rock solid belief that Americans have a right to bear arms. As long as the citizenry of this country is armed we have less to fear from our government.

Now, these are just a few of the attributes of an “extremist” like me… at least according to the Political Left.

Now, I leave it up to you to decide, exactly where the line falls between the Political Left’s view of “extremism” and that of the Political Right.

Which presents the least threat to America?

Get the US OUT of the UN!

(From October, 2006)
______________
Embarrassed that the US is a Member of the UN!

****************

Somebody, somewhere, the other day, remarked that simply because the UN is corrupt is no reason for the US to leave the UN. The writer suggested strongly that the US “fix” the UN!

The first thought to enter my mind when I read that was… “I wish I had a case of whatever that guy is smoking!”

The UN is irrelevant. It has made itself that way. It is corrupt, beyond measure, and it causes far more problems than it solves around the world.

The UN exists only to provide cushy offices and grand homes, for their officials, and… diplomatic immunity while they are here, on US soil. It also provides a headquarters for practically every enemy country on the globe to base their spying operations against the US. It is the only spot on the globe that bloodthirsty dictators can come together with total immunity.

I am embarrassed that my country, the US, is a member of the UN and I take every opportunity to plead with my government’s officials to do all in their power to get the US out of the UN.

There may have been a time when an organization, such as the UN (when it began), was necessary. NO longer. It has become the thing we feared most… an enemy of the US. And that enemy is perched on the riverbank in New York City. Yes, I know the UN owns the land their building stands upon, but the fact that it’s proximity, to US soil, is so close… makes me shudder with revulsion.

So what should the US do? First… get out! Look, we know who our friends are. They are the people we need to bond with in a mutual defense treaty, of some sort, and allow the UN to collapse of it’s own corrupt weight.

I am sick and tired of the UN, and the political Left, insisting that we get that proverbial “permission slip” from them to take care of problems in the world that affect the US. The US doesn’t need the UN and, I daresay, the majority of Americans do not wish to continue our membership in that disreputable organization.

If the US withdrew it’s funding of the UN, I suspect the UN would eventually have to close its doors. We pay 22% of all the expenses of the UN and we provide the finest troops in the world for their peacekeeping (?) missions.

Does the fact that the US pays such a large amount of the expenses of the UN bother me? You bet it does! If former Senator Jesse Helms, of North Carolina, was still in the Senate, I daresay that amount would be nearly cut in half, if we didn’t withhold payment altogether. The latter would suit me. Every time the US treasury cuts a check for the UN it just feels like aiding and abetting the enemy.

The UN does not reflect the values the American citizen holds dear. We have no business in an organization bent so completely toward our destruction. I understand we may be trying to live into the old proverb,” Keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer”. That may be. But the UN is just too close for comfort!

Political Party Gender: Dems = Female, Repubs = Male

Political Party Gender: Dems = Feminine, Repubs = Male

********************
We began to suspect, way back when, that the gender of the Democrat Party is feminine and the gender of the Republican Party is male. This campaign cycle it seems the dems are going out of their way to prove it.

As one of our leading weekly news magazines discovered, not too many years ago, there really is a difference between males and females! That came as astounding news to many Americans who had been taught in the government school system of this nation that women and men were, well, equal, that there was no difference. Our young were taught to turn a blind eye to the obvious differences between the two real genders. It was a campaign by the feminist movement… and… the children of the nation were indoctrinated at taxpayer expense.

But, as there usually are, there were some holdouts. There were, it seems, some people in the US who refused to be bamboozled by all the propaganda and the pop-science, the obvious lies, and distortions of nature, and put some distance between themselves and those who perpetrated the falsehood of equality of the genders. But, a single, weak-willed political party in this nation, bought into the lies … all the way! It was, as usual, the Democrat(ic) Party. That brought on an exodus of male/men from the party. They trekked over to the other party…. you know, “the party where men are men… and the women are glad of it”!

As the years passed the democrat(ic) party has become even more feminized until today it has become the “Party of the Wuss”.

Men have a natural gift, a gift from nature, if you will, that hard wires them to want to protect the feminine gender. The Republican Party, being the party of men, has spent more than a little of it’s time in the transpiring years saving the Democrat(ic) Party from bring harm on itself... or harm on the nation. It has been, and continues to be, a daunting task… one which takes away precious time from doing the nation’s business as a capitalist society.

We, here at IoF, have visited this topic before. But, recently, the truth of the matter has been brought home with the profundity of a hailstorm on a tin roofed shack!

The female party’s leading candidate for the office of President is… what? A female… a woman? Well, yes. Arguably the most popular female on TV is , for the first time ever, campaigning for the female party’s second place contender. A member of the female party… a what? … a woman… is Speaker of the House of Representatives, and... well… you get the picture.

Now, I’m sorta old-fashioned, I suppose, but you see, I like women. My wife is one. My mother was one, my daughter is one, and my granddaughter is one. So, before you begin beating me about the head and shoulders, understand that I come from the old school where men were taught, from the cradle up, to be men. There was no blurring of the genders. There was no question what was expected of a man, as a man. As a result… things got done.

Testosterone is a wonderful hormone for action. Testosterone gets things done. Sometimes it gets messy… as in wars, but things get done. Testosterone doesn’t talk much. (Remember the strong silent type? Well, you youngsters born in the 1960’s and 1970’s probably have no clue what I meant by that question.) Testosterone is not given to much talk, debate, and diplomacy. When real men talk diplomacy, it is at the near end of a war when the opponent has been beaten stupid and diplomacy is… asking him if he is ready to give up. THAT is our definition of diplomacy!

Why, just look at the Democrat(ic) controlled Congress: effete, impotent, and totally useless, given to fits of anger and rage, always whimpering, and whining, about the horrible shape of “things”, lurching from one crisis to another, all the while depending upon the Republican Party to save them. So far, the Republicans have been able to save the country from the foibles of the "Feminized Congress". But that may well change next year.

Now, I’m not the only male writer having seen this Political Party gender split develop. Listen to what my friend, Alan Caruba, over at "Facts not Fantasy" has to say in a piece titled: “Is the Democratic Party Just for Girls”? Alan says:

“The Republican Party benefited from the decision of a large number of white men to leave the Democrat Party. They didn't like policies that threatened gun ownership, that put an end to some men's sports teams at colleges, or a party that kept offering candidates like Dukakis or McGovern whose pacifism seemed to lack manly virtues of courage and grit.

Gore had to hire a consultant to tell him what colors and fashions would make him look manly and, in the end, that silly, endless kiss before his acceptance speech at the Democrat convention embarrassed everyone watching.

Today, the total feminization of the Democrat Party finds its fulfillment in Hillary Clinton, the first woman to truly have a shot at the party's nomination. Her qualification? She is the wife of a former President."

You can read Alan’s entire article at:
http://factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com/2007/12/is-democrat-party-just-for-girls.html

Some of you will read this piece and laugh. Others will read it and become incensed with anger. Others will blow it off as the rantings of “a caveman”. That’s OK. Pointing to the obvious almost always embarrasses the masses. And that is all I am doing with this article… pointing out the obvious…. you know, “the elephant in the room”.

I have often thought God must truly love America for He has saved us, from ourselves, so many times in our history. It may well take divine intervention to save us again from those who would foist the feminine idea of society upon us. We call it “socialism” and socialism is a pretty, warm and fuzzy, feminine idea of how society should operate. It does not work, of course, but the idea is just, well, so pretty! If the Democrats have their way in 2008, this nation will be lead directly into socialism by “the touch of a woman’s hand”.

We may well find that the scenario, from the Bible, of Adam and Eve and the apple in the Garden of Eden is more than just a pretty story, after all. It may well have been intended as a warning. I’m just saying……….

Those Pesky, Impertinent, Bloggers show no respect for REAL Journalists!

Those Pesky, Impertinent, Bloggers show no respect for REAL Journalists!

***************

The Modern Blogger is the equivalent of the early American pamphleteers. George Orwell has said of Pamphleteers:

“The pamphlet is a one-man show. One has complete freedom of expression, including, if one chooses, the freedom to be scurrilous, abusive, and seditious; or, on the other hand, to be more detailed, serious and "high-brow" than is ever possible in a newspaper or in most kinds of periodicals...” George Orwell

A famous pamphleteer of the American Revolutionary War was Thomas Paine. Another famous pamphleteer was Witte the With. Today a pamphleteer might communicate his missives by way of a weblog, but before the advent of telecommunications, those with access to a printing press and a supply of paper used the pamphlet as a means of mass communications outside of newspapers or full-fledged books. (From Wikipedia)

Understand that pampleteers have been a thorn in the side of the MsM from day one. Why? Freedom to write anything they want. The Pamphleteer‘s torch has now been passed to the Blogger of the 21st century. And the Mainstream Media is furious!

In the past week I have read three articles, all in the newpaper, and all written by members, or contributing members of, the MsM. I came away amused by how little they actually know about blogging and how afraid of us they are.

First of all, many bloggers were, or are, members of the MsM or, contribute, at some level, to the MsM. So there is a small amount of intergration present between the two. Independaent Bloggers shun any association with the MsM. Many of us, however, have come out of the culture of the MsM.

A syndicated columnist might write one, maybe two, articles a week for publication. A blogger may well write ten or more!

And yes.. for the most part we do not have editors telling us what to write, what to write about, or the “style” we must use, and then tearing up a piece, with the editing pencil, when we have labored long and hard over it. NO, we do not have that frustration. We are unfetteredby by the millstone of an editor around our necks… or just standing over us.

The problem with Blogging as opposed to a syndicated columnist is… we don’t get paid, as a rule, for our work. So, if there is a downside to blogging, that would be it.

As I mentioned above, we have freedom. That, I think, is the problem. That is the burr under the saddle of our columnist friends and editorial writers, and commentators everywhere. The other sore point is: We reach millions with one publication as opposed to thousands with their one publication. Plus, the reader is not expected to pay one red cent to read our publications.

And then there is the conversation we have with our readers through their abillity to instantly comment on what we have written. Unlike the “letter to the editor” a reader can contact us in short order and can take us to task, or praise us, for what we have written. There is easy acess for the public to the blogger.

It is a fact that newspapers in this country are suffering badly. Bloggers are an easy target for their ire. Problem is, they have been unable to stop our rising popularity while theirs tanks. As a result they are frustrated. And they are beginning to flail about, and swing wildly in our direction, hoping to strike a blow for the “Old Media”. So far, they are about as effective as “shadow boxing”.

At some point, in the not too distant future, I expect the MsM to take their case to a sympatheic Congress and lobby for laws that will curb and possibly silence bloggers. My guess is, they’ll get those laws.

As print publications, namely newspapers, turn more and more to the Internet, they are attempting to apply their old rules to their Internet publications. As they are beginningto learn... those old rules won’t work out here in the ether. If they persist, their internet efforts will suffer just as surely as their hard copy print publications are suffering.

The blogosphere is a new medium with new rules. If the print media wants in they will have to adapt to the new rules. To continue with their old ways of publication will only insure their demise on the net.

The Pamphleteers adapted and became the Boggers. What will the newspapers become?

Global Warming Lies Create a Climate of Crisis... by Alan Caruba

Global Warming Lies Create a Climate of Crisis
By Alan Caruba

The United Nations conference in Bali, attended by some 10,000 participants and observers, is likely to make future generations conclude that ours was deranged to be discussing how humans could have any affect whatever on the climate. They will, in retrospect, agree that the global warming theory was a lie whose agenda was to retard anything that might extend and enhance life on earth.

The Protocol is based entirely on a lie that predicts dramatic and imminent global warming. Global warmers insist that carbon dioxide emissions must be reduced, but carbon dioxide does not cause climate change. Climatologists will tell you that any rise in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere does not precede, but follows warming cycles.

The science is well known, but hucksters like the odious Al Gore and those behind the original Kyoto Protocol, with the media as accessories, have created a climate of crisis.
It’s a very good thing that our Senate voted unanimously in 1997 against binding America to the United Nations Kyoto Protocol on Climate Control and that both the Clinton and Bush Administrations refused to act on the proposed limits. The reason for the Senate resolution was to avoid “serious harm to the economy of the United States.”

A November 30 Bloomberg News article by Kristian Rix and Mathew Carr reported that Japan, Spain, and Italy face as much as $33 billion in fines as the result of having agreed to reduce so-called “greenhouse gas” emissions and failed. These three nations are deemed the “worst performers among 36 nations that agreed to curb carbon dioxide gases that cause climate change.”

Among the nations exempt from the Kyoto Protocol are China and India, both of whom represent two of the six billion people on planet Earth. The idea that limits on carbon dioxide emissions could be achieved without their participation is idiotic.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) plays a minor role in determining the Earth’s climate but at the same time plays an essential role in the maintenance of all of the Earth’s vegetation, whether it takes the form of crops, jungles, forests, and just someone’s front lawn. Without CO2 all animal life, including our own dies because of its dependence on food crops.

The Earth’s atmosphere is composed of 78% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide, and trace amounts of other gases, including water vapor. We call this “air” and, humans depend on the oxygen content for life. At the same time all six billion of us individually exhale about two pounds of carbon dioxide every day. By contrast, Nature emits about 30 times more CO2 than humans. The oceans of the world absorb and release CO2 all the time. This is Nature’s balance that maintains all life, animal and vegetable, on earth.

Consider now how many schools, hospitals, bridges, roads, and other benefits to their citizens that $33 billion represents to Japan, Spain, and Italy. Such fines will be transferred to the coffers of the United Nations for having failed to curb CO2 emissions that are actually a benefit to the Earth!

An entirely bogus system of “carbon credits” has been created to transfer huge amounts of money from industrialized nations accused of producing too much CO2 to those nations that, for lack of development—failed economies—will garner funding as they “sell” their excess credits. The same system would allow various industries to sell the same worthless credits to those—primarily producers and users of energy—deemed to be major CO2 “polluters.”

Even though the U.S. Supreme Court has fallen prey to the lie that CO2 represents a form of “pollution” and should be regulated, the known science renders this decision an egregious juridical error

The Earth, over billions of years, has gone through cycles of warming and cooling that are well established. It has gone through periods when the CO2 content in the atmosphere was far higher than today. The latest cooling period is called the mini-ice age and lasted from around 1300 to 1850. The Earth has been warming naturally since then.

There is no dramatic warming occurring. Predictions of this are based on totally flawed computer models, none of which can begin to approximate the sheer chaos and complexity of the Earth’s weather system.

These computer models, put forth by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Control, have been repeatedly revealed to be inaccurate to the point of deliberate deception. The constant assertion that there is a “consensus” among scientists that global warming is caused by humans is yet another part of the lie.

As the anti-capitalist forces meet in Bali, the rest of us must demand that we shall not be penalized and threatened by limits imposed on industries and agriculture around the world.

The people of the world must not submit to a lie of global warming that is intended to deprive them of the future benefits that energy use, improved transportation, technological innovations, and the expanded production of food portends.

Alan Caruba writes a weekly column, “Warning Signs”, posted on the Internet site of The National Anxiety Center, http://www.anxietycenter.com/. He also maintains a blog at http://factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com/.
