Just a passing thought here: This IS NOT COLUMBUS DAY!!! Just because the US government continues to insist on revising history to suit itself in no way changes the fact that Columbus discovered America on October 12th, 1492!
As a Southerner (A Southern American) I am more than a little acquainted with the way the federal government changes history to suit itself. And I still don't like it!
