STILL a Nationalist?

Back in 2005 I wrote an article entitled: “I’m a Nationalist.” Over the weekend, while doing a bit of light research, I came across the piece -- and read it again. Honestly, I can’t see that anything has changed my mind. If ANYTHING I am MORE of a nationalist today than I was 5 years ago. Why? One word: “OBAMA!”

The dictionary defines a nationalist as: One with “Devotion to the interests or culture of one's nation.” (Free on-line dictionary)

The dictionary defines a nationalism as: “1: loyalty and devotion to a nation; especially: a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups.” (Free Merriam-Webster dictionary)

I have been a nationalist from my youth. In fact, until I became active in politics, I thought ALL Americans felt that way about their country. Then I had the epiphany! Liberals/Progressives do not! (Gasp!) I must tell you that was a difficult thing for me as a young activist to get my mental arms about.

Understand – I grew up in an America where “American Exceptionalism” was not only understood, even taught in our public schools, but was simply a way of life! We were unashamedly, unapologetically, AMERICANS!

Even today I do not consider myself a citizen of the world, as does our President. I am a citizen of the United States of America. I am a staunch opponent of “Global Governance” often referred to as a “One World Government.”

A nationalist government, in Washington, DC, would have, long ago, secured, and sealed the southern border of the United States, as well as the northern border. Nationalists believe that national boundaries and borders are important, and that they DO matter -- IF a nation is to maintain its identity. So don’t fool yourself. It will NEVER happen as long as we have the Liberal/Progressive/Socialist/Marxist government at the helm of this country.

Back in 2005, I wrote the following:

If you have ever run a business, especially a business that “sells” anything, then you know, to be successful, you must create a “Team Spirit” among your employees. That team spirit must include pride in the team, and a feeling that your team is the best, at what it does, and be ready, and able, to prove it to all comers.

If you have no team and everybody does “their thing,” at “their pace,” when they “feel like it”, then you have a mess on your hands. Any progress will be purely accidental. Plus your “people” will lag behind everyone else. In general, you will have a disorganized mess on your hands with lethargy as the ruler of the day.

Where am I going with all this rambling? Some of you figured it our before you finished the first paragraph.

I’m a Nationalist. Unapologetically. I cannot conceive of being an adherent to any other philosophy. Nothing else makes practical sense to me.

I am of Northern European stock. That may have something to do with it. I frankly, don’t know. And I care even less.

I was a Nationalist before 9-11. I will be a Nationalist when the dirt is shoveled into my face.

I have no love of “globalism.” None. I cannot conceive of a “one world government.” Even the phrase sends chills up my spine.

I see the US as THE Nation. It is MY nation; therefore it is the BEST nation of all the nations on the earth. Even when we screw-up, as we do often, we still lead the pack.

Regardless of what you may have been taught in school, we DO have a National Culture. There IS a single American Culture. I do not believe there is room within any single nation state for more than one culture. You can readily see that I do not adhere to the philosophy of multiculturalism. If you come to live among the people of my nation, then you will adhere to the culture of my nation. Else wise, you will never be a member of this nation. Legally, you may become a citizen, but you will never become a member of my society until you conform to the culture of my nation.

As a Nationalist, my allegiance is to the US. No other national, or international, entity will have my allegiance.

The United Nations, to me, is an abomination. I would like to see it disbanded and done away with… completely. It was an unworkable idea even before Woodrow Wilson dreamed up his “League of Nations.” The UN is, simply, another adversary to the United States.

Down deep, I believe most Americans feel this way, although it is not fashionable to say so out loud… or in public.

On a drive through the American Southeast you will see multiple flagpoles in the front yards of many homes flying Old Glory from high atop the pole. Granted, you may see a state flag, or even one, or more, of the Confederate national flags, or even the Confederate Battle flag flying BELOW Old Glory… on the same pole. To a Southerner that is not the least bit confusing. We are proud Americans, Southern Americans, to be sure, proud of our heritage, but our allegiance, first and foremost, is to the United States. And, as a Nationalist, that is where my/our allegiance stops.

So, do not attempt to sell me on “multiculturalism.” I ain’t buying. No need to bother yourself trying to sway me toward “globalism.” I want none of it. I’m not interested in embracing the remainder of the world. I’ll happily trade with other nations and lend a hand when they need it, but my nation, America, comes first. Period.

Yep, I guess that makes me a nationalist.

The weeping, and wailing and gnashing of teeth you are hearing is coming from the political left. They cannot abide the idea that a person, especially a citizen of the United States, could love their country, especially THIS country (The US). But there are millions of us abroad in America. You will see most of us at the polling places on November 2nd, 2010.

We believe America is in desperate need of rescuing from the clutches of the Liberals, Progressives, Democrats, Socialists, and Marxists who came to power in 2006 and 2008 as a result of the greatest blunder in the history of America. That national mistake must be set aright and we intend to do so at the very next election.

A Citizen of the World, NOT!

A recent commenter on one of my articles took me to task for not realizing that I am a citizen of the world FIRST -- and a citizen of America SECOND!

How wrong he is! If you subscribe to world citizenship first, then you, too are wrong.

My allegiance is to America. I don’t give a rat’s behind what the remainder of the countries on this globe does. It is none of my concern -- right up to the point they insist on making trouble for America. It is then that we must send the “United States WORLD Police Force” to clean up the mess the offending country, or countries, has made. I sometimes think our US Navy aircraft carriers should be painted black and white as are our police cruisers. Maybe we could install a gigantic blue flashing light on the carrier’s tallest radio mast. Impressive, what?

I am an admitted isolationist. If I could, I would build a wall around the US and invite the rest of the world to take a hike. Alas, I cannot. I am also a realist and I understand the interconnectedness of America with the rest of the world. I don’t like it, but I understand it. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Look, individuals who prized their independence and self-reliance settled America. They had no desire to be citizens of the world. Our forefathers warned us of “foreign entanglements.” The original America was designed to stand-alone. It was during the war for Independence from Great Britain that we began “entangling” ourselves with European countries as we sought allies to assist in our fight with the British world superpower. We have not been able to disengage since.
Last June, at a fundraiser in Washington, DC, Newt Gingrich is reported to have said: "I am not a citizen of the world. I think the entire concept is intellectual nonsense and stunningly dangerous!"

I agree with Gingrich. It s one of those “warm and fuzzy,” emotion inducing, expressions so favored by the useful idiots of the left. It is also, I have concluded, a result of the brainwashing of America’s youth in that left-wing indoctrination system we refer to, laughingly, as the Public Education System.

Why brainwash our kids into believing they are citizens of the world FIRST? Simple. It will make it much easier for Americans to accept becoming a part of a Global Government which would negate the US Constitution, strip Americans of all their rights as American citizens and render them serf’s of an elite globe spanning Marxist ruling class.

We all know by now that Obama is “a citizen of the world.” He tells us he is. Obama is, or at least was, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, “the organization that represents those who want globalism, nations without borders, a North American Union, a Godless U.N. Charter that can be changed according to political whims of unelected elite bureaucrats to replace the U.S. Constitution; a new, universal currency to replace the dollar controlled by the central bankers of Europe…” The preceding is from an excellent article by Joe Kress at “News with Views” entitled: “Obama: I’m a Citizen of the World.” You will find it HERE.

There has been, for a very long time, a movement behind the scenes, in the shadows, so to speak, to create a Global Government. A single One-World Government to which all people on earth would pledge their allegiance. The current governments of the various countries on earth would be suppliants to that Global Government. The earth would be under the power of an elite, unelected, oligarchy. A nameless, faceless, group of power-hungry individuals who will decide how everything, I mean EVERY THING, is run. They still believe in the Socialist/Marxist Utopia, which has never existed -- and never will -- so long as human beings are at the helm.

Obama belongs to that group of elitists who believe that they are the “anointed ones” charged with insuring the emergence of Global Governance on earth. They are the people who use phrases such as “a citizen of the world.”

Those of us who consider ourselves citizens of America first place our hands over our hearts when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the US. We do this because our allegiance is to America and ONLY America – FIRST! NOW do you understand why Obama did NOT? (Remember the Photo?)

So, if you are inclined to take me to task for not considering myself a citizen of the world first and America second, you can stand down. Your efforts will be totally wasted. You see -- I live in the REAL world -- not in your fantasy world of Socialist/Marxist propaganda and sloganeering. I am an American, First, Last, and Always!
