Freedom of Speech a Fantasy in America

We have known for some time that the government was listening to our phone calls, landlines and cell phones, and we have suspected they were doing the same thing to our e-mail and to our blogs.  Now we KNOW.

How much longer will Americans allow our freedom to be eroded … taken away?  How long are we going to allow the desecration of the US Constitution? 

Since September 11^th, 2001 we have been trading our freedom for security.  It never works.  The end result has always been that a people who trade freedom for security eventually wind up with neither. 

“The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) recently obtained close to 300 pages of documents, as a result of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, detailing the federal agency’s “intelligence gathering” practices on the web.

Among the documents were guidelines from DHS instructing outside contractors to monitor the web for media reports and comments that “reflect adversely” on the agency or the federal government.

As Reuters reported last month, in early 2010 contractors were asked to spend 24 hours monitoring news media coverage on popular websites, including Facebook, Twitter, Hulu, WikiLeaks, as well as news sites including the Huffington Post and The Drudge Report.

The documents obtained by EPIC indicate that following the exercise, a procurement official awarded an $11.3 million contract to General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems in order to carry out the monitoring on a “24/7/365 basis”.” (SOURCE)      

What has happened to America’s guarantee that its citizens have “freedom of speech?”  Has that guarantee been revoked?  Indeed, it has.

Look.  America has a government run amok.  Like a giant vacuum cleaner, Washington is sucking our freedom up and leaving us vulnerable to a tyrannical central government with a socialist agenda.

The Bill of Rights, the leash our founders placed around the neck of government in America has been slipped and like a ravenous junkyard dog, that government is devouring the liberty and freedom of all Americans. 

The Obama Regime has been the worst violator of the government restraints placed on them by the constitution since the Lincoln Administration.

The corruption within the current government is as bad, or worse, than that of the Grant Administration.  Government -- and the power of government -- has grown exponentially under Obama’s leadership  -- and he is asking for another term to complete the job.

Consider this:  As we observe the degradation of American liberty under the Obama Regime’s first term, what do you think will happen when Obama is not restrained by an impending election?  Can America survive as a free constitutional representative republic with a capitalist society?  In my opinion, the answer is an emphatic, resounding NO!  America cannot survive.  At least a FREE America cannot survive.

America is facing the very real threat of becoming another socialist dung heap where all its citizens suffer “fairly” or, as the socialists and Marxists say, … equally.

Ginger McCall, the Director of EPIC is reported to have said:  “The idea that the government is constantly peering over your shoulder and listening to what you are saying creates a very chilling effect to legitimate dissent.”  (SOURCE)  

I agree with Ms. McCall, except that I would take it a step farther.  Not only does government eavesdropping chill freedom of speech … it THROTTLES it!    

This whole mess is just another indication of how America has slipped into the Post Constitution era.  The “fabled” US Constitution is a thing of the past.  It is a myth born in the dim mists of yesteryear and is no longer applicable today. 

Just as history records that Nero burned Rome, history must record that Obama presided over the destruction of America. 

Look.  A nation like America can only be successful if it has a God-fearing populace, not a people who celebrate infanticide and behavior that God has proclaimed an abomination. America is more like the latter than the former today.  As a result, we have sold ourselves into slavery.

The distant bell we hear is tolling America’s death knell.  The last best hope of mankind is breathing it’s last, felled by it’s own hand.

The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic.

As we see today, Teddy was absolutely right.  We have become the very thing he warned we would become if we did not drop the hyphen – both mentally and physically.  Indeed, we have “become a tangle of squabbling nationalities.”

Even President Woodrow Wilson regarded "hyphenated Americans" with suspicion, saying, "Any man who carries a hyphen about with him carries a dagger that he is ready to plunge into the vitals of this Republic whenever he gets ready.” (SOURCE)

At no time is it more obvious than during an election cycle when the politicians begin their pathetic pandering to every hyphenated group of so-called Americans in the country… both legal and illegal.

Since Teddy made his remarks we have embraced the hyphen ad infinitum.  Now we have:  African American, Arab American, Asian American, European American, Latino American, Native American, Chinese American, English American, Filipino American, Greek American, German American, Irish American, Indian American, Italian American, Japanese American, Jewish American, Korean American, Mexican American, Norwegian American, Azerbaijani American, Polish American, Russian American, Spanish American, Swedish American, Ukrainian American, Vietnamese American, and the list just continues to grow.

America is more divided today that she was during The War Between the States.  We each seem to have our own little tribe to which we belong.  The once famed “American culture” no longer exists.  We have submerged it in a sea of multiculturalism and it has become the victim of something called “diversity.”  Both Multiculturalism and Diversity were begat by Political Correctness, which has its roots in Marxism.  Yes, I am saying America is becoming a Marxist country.  The evidence is overwhelming.  For exhibit number one, look no farther than the current occupant of the Oval Office of the President of the United States.

We are drowning in a sea of hyphens!

Whatever happened to plain ole Americans?  Only a cursory investigation will reveal that they have been relegated to the dusty corners of our society where they can speak of such things as loyalty to one’s nation, honor, patriotism, and worse, GOD! … and not offend the purveyors of political correctness -- the practitioners of Marxism.

The past few generations of Americans have been indoctrinated in our government schools so that they believe that multiculturalism and diversity are GOOD.  These are the same government schools that replaced prayer with policeman, psychologists, chain link fences, and metal detectors. 

What did we expect?

America is in such hopeless shape that we cannot manage to convince anyone capable of leadership to even stand for election.  Instead, we republicans have this gaggle of second and third stringers who have done nothing but embarrass half of the GOP while the other half is praying to God that he provide a miracle and produce a leader (quickly) we can have, at least, SOME confidence in.

America has lost its identity.  We no longer know who we are. This is the result of hyphens, multiculturalism, and diversity.  Until we can reclaim our real identify -- and coalesce around that identity as one people -- we cannot hope to heal our nation.

I am asked, occasionally, why I harp on ObamaCare so much. The answer is simple. America was sold a bill of goods. I should probably qualify that last statement. Only those Americans who bought into the idea of Obamacare, as Obama and the liberal-socialists who make up the modern Democratic Party presented it, were hoodwinked. Most of us who are clear-thinking adult human beings saw through the scam from the beginning and warned and warned and warned against it. We TOLD you what it was -- and is -- and we told you what it would do to America, as a whole, and to you and I as individuals.

Many did not believe us, choosing, instead, to believe they could have something for nothing -- when the truth is – THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH! Everything costs something and in the case of ObamaCare the cost is the freedom of the American people.

ObamaCare is a lie, one of the biggest lies ever told the American people and one of
the biggest lies/hoaxes ever perpetrated upon any nation on the globe. It was -- and is -- a grand “CON.” It is founded on Marxism and is, in fact, Socialism. But it is more than that – much more. It brings America to the threshold of becoming a police state.

In an editorial piece at the Washington Examiner entitled “Obamacare is even worse than critics thought” the writer says the following: “Six months ago, President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rammed Obamacare down the throats of an unwilling American public. Half a year removed from the unprecedented legislative chicanery and backroom dealing that characterized the bill's passage, we know much more about the bill than we did then. A few of the revelations:

Obamacare won't decrease health care costs for the government. According to Medicare's actuary, it will increase costs. The same is likely to happen for privately funded health care.

As written, Obamacare covers elective abortions, contrary to Obama's promise that it wouldn't. This means that tax dollars will be used to pay for a procedure millions of Americans across the political spectrum view as immoral.

Obamacare won't allow employees or most small businesses to keep the coverage they have and like. By Obama's estimates, as many as 69 percent of employees, 80 percent of small businesses, and 64 percent of large businesses will be forced to change coverage, probably to more expensive plans.

Obamacare will increase insurance premiums -- in some places, it already has. Insurers, suddenly forced to cover clients' children until age 26, have little choice but to raise premiums, and they attribute to Obamacare's mandates a 1 to 9 percent increase. Obama's only method of preventing massive rate increases so far has been to threaten insurers.

Obamacare will force seasonal employers -- especially the ski and amusement park industries -- to pay huge fines, cut hours, or lay off employees.

Obamacare forces states to guarantee not only payment but also treatment for indigent Medicaid patients. With many doctors now refusing to take Medicaid (because they lose money doing so), cash-strapped states could be sued and ordered to increase reimbursement rates beyond their means.

Obamacare imposes a huge nonmedical tax compliance burden on small business. It will require them to mail IRS 1099 tax forms to every vendor from whom they make purchases of more than $600 in a year, with duplicate forms going to the Internal Revenue Service. Like so much else in the 2,500-page bill, our senators and representatives were apparently unaware of this when they passed the measure.

Obamacare allows the IRS to confiscate part or all of your tax refund if you do not purchase a qualified insurance plan. The bill funds 16,000 new IRS agents to make sure Americans stay in line. (SOURCE) We suggest you read the article at the Washington Examiner in its entirety.

ObamaCare is socialized medicine through and through. In an article posted on April 4th, 2010 by Austin Miles at Great Minds Think Right.Com and entitled “We did it!” Communist Party Newspaper on Obamacare” Mr. Austin says the following: “The People’s World is a direct descendant of the old Communist newspaper, the Daily Worker, first issue published by Long View Publishing Co.in1924. Like The Daily Worker, People’s World states that they, “are unashamedly Communist.” They acknowledge their affiliation with the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) and the Young Communist League. When Obamacare was rammed through, the People’s World proclaimed, “We did it! Yesterday’s historic vote on health reform sets the stage for future victories.” Catch that? WE (The Communist Party) did it!...and sets the stage for future victories, which means of course, Marxism for America.” (SOURCE)

According to a recent Rasmussen Poll 61% of US voters favor repeal of ObamaCare. (SOURCE) Rasmussen also says: “A strong majority (60%) feel that under the new law, the cost of health care will go up. Only 13% say costs will go down, and 18% say they will stay about the same.” (SOURCE)

As we were writing this commentary we learned the President has contacted a number of religious organizations and asked them to help sell ObamaCare to their parishioners and members, etc. I cannot speak for you, but if my pastor were to take to the pulpit and begin to expound upon the benefits of ObamaCare for me and for the country, I’d leave the pew and head for the door! (Where are the “separation of church and state” zealots now, huh?)

What we have, dear reader, is a socialist government in power in Washington D. C. It must be excised just as one rids one’s body of a cancerous tumor. If it is not removed from our body politic it will kill it as surely as that cancerous tumor will kill the human body.

Thank goodness, surgery is scheduled for November second.

Recently, I watched a conservative commentator on TV declare the America we used to know is dead.

I immediately thought: “Well, where has HE been?” Of course, America, as a constitutional republic, IS dead! We have been saying so for well over a year now -- actually approaching two years. There is a little life left in her -- but VERY little.

Ever since Obama dropped his hand, after taking the oath of office as President of the United States of America, the systematic disassembling of America has been underway.

You have to give Obama his due. He has kept his promise to “fundamentally change” America. THAT he has done.

Ron Ewart, in an article at the Canada Free Press, recently said the following: “Comes now a man who participated in a Chicago church for twenty years that preached “Black Liberation Theology”, a theology that believes, with vehemence and much gnashing of teeth, that white America is evil and white America is still trying to keep black Americans in a state of perpetual poverty, if not slavery. “

Mr. Ewart continues: “Obama’s whole background, from the day he was born, is filled with communists, socialists, Marxists, community activists and others who seek a massive redistribution of American wealth to those who have not found their way to, or have not taken advantage of, unequaled in any country... In an article at Uncommon Sense the following statement is made: “So America, can you connect the dots? In just 18 months we have watched the tightening of federal controls on states and citizens that is unprecedented in American history. Our freedom and our liberty is being usurped by an over reaching federal bureauracy that has put us on a fast track to socialism or maybe even communism.”

The writer points out the following:

“We allowed the passage of a $787B economic stimulus bill.

The federal government has taken over two-thirds of the domestic auto industry.

The T.A.R.P. program passed at the end of the Bush administration was the first step in nationalizing the domestic banking system.

Using the EPA, the government has declared cabon dioxide a harmful gas and is on the path of regulating energy and the environment without regulation to further its’ agenda – bigger, more controlling government.

The FCC is working on a bailout plan for the mainstream media as well as regulations to destroy free speech. Clearly in their sights – the internet and conservative talk radio.

Recently the President signed a land grab order. Using the “1906 Antiquities Act” he ordered the federalization of 10 million acres of land in the west. This land grab will inhibit our ability to gain energy independence by cutting off access to needed resources.

The President continues his focus on “climate change” and “Cap & Trade” rather than job creation and economic growth.

Moody’s has repeatedly warned the government for the past 18 months that if we don’t reduce the debt and curtail government spending we will lose our national AAA credit rating. This will cause our interest rates to sky rocket and eventually our interest service of the debt will bankrupt the country.”

The writer goes on to mention the passage of ObamaCare and government funding for higher education. He says: “Education and Healthcare are not rights! Rights come from God not governments. This bill also includes the funding to hire 16,000 new IRS agents to aid in the enforcement of the new laws.” (Read the entire article (HERE).

If is especially distressing to realize that an entire country can be subjected to the death grip of socialism, in such a brief period of time. Our socialist Congress was elected in 2006 and our socialist President was elected in 2008 -- and that sealed the deal. Elections, as we have been told, so often, have consequences. Unfortunately for Americans the consequences of the 2006 and 2008 elections turned out to be the loss of our constitutional republic created by our Founding Fathers. We swapped it for a socialist government made up of Statists, Socialists, Progressives, Marxists, a few Communists, and a handful of liberals. We also got, in the deal, a President who, much like Julius Caesar, would be a dictator, and -- in fact he has created a cohort of minions around him to do HIS will while at the same time being answerable ONLY to him.

Our new kind of American dictator is using the power of the president’s executive orders to force his will upon the people of the US. Is this an abuse of power? Some say YES! Certainly, if it is not – it OUGHT to be!

“Statism” is now the national religion in America. Some on the American left are declaring the state as sacred and taxes as a sacrament.

Americans were once among the most God-fearing people on the planet. No longer. Now, rather than praising God and turning to Him in time of need or crisis, our government is encouraging us to praise the state and turn to it for everything -- including our sustenance. THAT is a hallmark of godless socialism.

Generations of American children were NOT taught, in our public school system, that the government of the US was founded to be a servant of the people of the states. As voting adults they don’t know the federal government is supposed to act according to the wishes of the people of the states.

They think it is exactly the opposite. Our over powerful central government now insists that Americans serve the federal government -- and it has been that way since my southern ancestors realized where the US federal government was headed, decided they wanted none of it, pulled out of the US, and formed their own country. They were forced back into the union at the point of a government bayonet. Unfortunately, that bayonet has not been sheathed since. The power of the federal government has grown steadily ever since.

Progressivism, Socialism, Marxism, all demand that the individual basically live for the state contributing everything he owns to the god of the left, -- the state.

This is where America is, in its evolution, today.

Men and women in America today have a decision to make. Americans who believe America was founded upon biblical truths, including “rights’ granted them by God, and God alone, are being told there is no such thing as rights not granted by the state. Never mind that our founding documents stress those God-given rights. Our new American socialist government views those founding documents, the Declaration of Independence, and the US Constitution, as too old and too outdated to apply today. And the void left by those documents is being filled by a left-wing dictatorship.

Those of us, of the conservative persuasion, have danced all around creating another political party. We even have the Tea Party, which is doing a good job at educating the masses of Americans dissatisfied with this new socialist America. Truth be told, I don’t think the GOP, in its current iteration, is capable of doing much better than those leftists in power today.

I really think the time has come for an “American Party,” a true conservative political party with one goal -- and that is to return America to its founding principles as a constitutional republic -- and keep it there. I don’t think I am alone in this conviction. All one has to do is look at the Tea Party. Could the Tea Party be the foundation for a new political party in America? It certainly could be.

One thing is certain. The US is far too deeply split to continue much longer as a nation of fifty states. One does not need a crystal ball to see what lies in America’s future.

Unless American citizens are willing to make the effort to rescue their nation, America will follow all the great nations of the past into the pages of history as a “has been” giant whose people were unable, or unwilling, to live up to the high ideals set for them by the founders of the country. For instance, when a nation will not protect its own borders that, alone, speaks volumes concerning the love that nation’s people have for their country.

To survive, America must right herself, find her true bearings, and stir herself back on course with renewed vigor and determination to clean up her government by throwing off the chains of socialism and restoring those precious ideals that saw her through nearly two and a half centuries of everything fate could throw at her.

President Ronald Reagan once said: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

If we Americans choose to continue on our current course, we dishonor the men and women who founded this country and all the generations since who have loved her, cherished her, protected her, and passed her on to the capable hands of the next generarion. If we so choose, then America stops here.

The soil of this sacred ground, we call America, is soaked in the blood of patriots who gave even their last measure to preserve freedom for us. The souls of those long sainted American patriots watch from the ramparts of heaven to see how we will choose. We must not disappoint them.

Common sense, (unhappily) not very common these days, dictates that under ObamaCare healthcare rationing in the US is a given. Even Obama’s new Czar of Medicare and Medicaid has said so.

Donald Berwick having been installed in the position by the Obama Regime’s “Recess Appointment” (While Congress is out of session) will hold that position, come hell or high water, until the end of the year 2011 (roughly 17 months).

With the use of the Recess Appointment Obama managed to get HIS man in the position HE wanted him without a Senate hearing or even a Senate vote on his nomination.

See how easy it was for tricky Obama to by-pass the Senate and, even more importantly, the American people, to get his way?

You know, I remember when folks used to complain and accuse President Richard Nixon of being an Imperial President! Can you imagine that? I mean, compared to Obama, Richard Nixon was a choirboy and a presidential piker!

Of course, Obama had good cause… very good cause. The very last thing Obama wants is for the American people to actually understand what Obamacare is going to do to the practice of medicine and healthcare as a whole in the United States. So, he HAD to recess appoint Berwick. There was no question of him ever going before a Senate hearing.

You can bet that had Berwick been subjected to a Senate hearing he would have been hit, immediately, by republican interrogators about his support for rationing of healthcare for the American people. Think Obama could risk that? Hell, NO!

Here is the Berwick quote they would have leaped upon instantly: “The decision is not whether or not we will ration care, the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open.” Oh, it gets better (or worse – depending upon your viewpoint!).

Here is a quote taken from a speech Berwick made to a British audience back in 2008: “Any healthcare funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized, and humane must, must redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent healthcare is by definition redistribution.”(SOURCE)

Redistributional? Is that like, you know, S O C I A L I S M?

NOW do you understand why Obama and his regime had to keep Dr. Donald Berwick under wraps until Obama could make the recess appointment a done deal and the American people would have no chance to stop him?

All this time I thought America had no king! How utterly stupid of me! I suspect if you look up “Imperial President” in a dictionary you will find Obama’s photo.

Look, if the American people are to rescue the healthcare system in America from socialized medicine then we have to defund and repeal ObamaCare. We can only get that done if we toss out as many democrats at the polls in November as we possibly can.

One can only conclude that America finds herself in the current mess as a direct result of ignorance. “Ignorance of what,” you ask? I must answer, “Ignorance of practically everything.”

I concluded, early on, the election of Obama was a direct result of ignorance. Ignorance of just how politics works in America as a result of no education -- period. Ignorance as a direct result of education received in the government schools, and just plain old willful ignorance – choosing to be ignorant of politics in America, by electing not to involve oneself in the distasteful, and sometimes less than sanitary job of maintaining America’s freedom.

Ignorance of America’s colorful political history, and that of the world, is much to blame for the Obama Regime’s continued acceptance by vast numbers of Americans. But, I am happy to report that number is growing ever smaller as each day passes.

Ignorance of history, as well as of current events, among the populace of any country, can lead to consequences that are truly awful. Take the election of America’s first socialist government, for instance. The election of 2006 turned our national legislature into a socialist machine bent on creating an even stronger central government with all the power it could grasp. Then, in 2008, the capstone of socialist victory in American politics was the election of Barack Hussein Obama. He promised fundamental change in America. The politically savvy in America understood he meant to lead America into out and out (pure) socialism. And he did.

Even today, the average democrat voter will deny the existence of a socialist government in America. They simply do not recognize it. I am convinced that ignorance stems from the fact that they were not taught the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the genius of America’s founders, and the love of a free constitutional republic that led their ancestors to lay down their lives to protect and preserve the freedom granted by that constitution. That is ignorance.

Back in the day, before teacher’s unions, American students were taught the fundamental concepts of American democracy and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. We learned, as students, that life in America is a priviledge. We learned that freedom is not free, it is preserved by Americans who know its value, even if it means laying down their lives in its defense.

Students also leaned the immeasurable value of The Founding Documents, the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and the all-important Bill of Rights. They learned that The Founders said what they meant and meant what they said when writing the constiturtion. Students also learned that the US Constitution is a document for the ages. It is not a living breathing document subject to change at the whim of those citizens who live under its protection.

No longer. Today we graduate students wo cannot read their diplomas, who cannot find Canada and Mexico on a map, and have no idea what the Constitution or the Bill of Rights are! They have no clue that the Bill of Rights limits the role of government in the daily lives of Americans. If they did, there would be riots in the streets all over America today.

These are the Americans who placed the "so-called" democrats in charge of America’s government. I say “so-called” because those of us who have dabbled in politics, all our adult lives, understand that those in charge of the US government today are not democrats as they would have you believe. They are socialists, Marxists, communists, and progressives.

So – how WERE they elected? They were elected by people who genuinely thought they were voting for democrats, and by people who don’t care what kind of government we have so long as their place on the government dole is protected and their “hand outs” continue to arrive every month, and by those who were interested only in the power that would accrue to them if socialists controled the US government. The latter could not have accomplished this feat without the ignorance of the former, whose votes they knew they could count on.

Ignorance is a dangerous, dangerous, thing. We, here in America, are only just re-learning this lesson.

This is truly the Golden Era of Ignorance in America. If we survive the damage it has done, we must begin all over again teaching our children what it means to be an American under the protection of the original US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

If we cannot repair the current public education system in America then we must trash it and build a new one in which the federal government and federal dollars have no part – and -- unionizing teachers is illegal.

We Americans must purge our Congress and the White House of socialist, Marxists, communists, and progressives at the ballot box and reclaim our country. If we do not -- America will have earned its place on the dust heap of history.

Dear US Reader:

Repealing ObamaCare will be a HUGE task for Americans. Can we do it now that so much damage has been done to our country?

There is no doubt that the Obama Regime has so damaged the US that it will take generations to repair those damages and recover. Some of the damages are permanent.

I remain of the opinion that the US will not survive another two decades as a single fifty state entity. The differences are much too great for Americans to continue to live together in harmony as we have in the past. The wounds are too great and much too deep.

Mr. Obama has delivered on his promise to “fundamentally change America.” In his short time in office he has managed to drive a wedge between us that can never, in my opinion, be removed.

I now accept that Obama is a “transformational president.” The physical evidence is such that I can no longer deny it. All one has to do is look about. American went from a constitutional republic to a socialist state in just a few months under Mr. Obama’s Marxist rule.

Next time you have access to a dictionary, please look up the word “socialism.” The definition you see there will match what Obama has done to America to a “tee.” I checked several dictionaries before I used the word in the first article I wrote about the changeover in America to socialism.

Reflections on a National Disaster

There is no question in my mind that I have lived long enough to see everything the nation once stood for in our own eyes and in the eyes of the world begin to disintegrate and fail.

John Adams, for those who slept through history class, was America’s second president, and one of the Founders who participated in the writing of our Constitution. If you worry about deals made behind closed doors, you are herewith reminded that the Constitution was written behind closed doors. Though the room in Philadelphia had its share of lawyers, the man who presided over the process was a soldier and farmer called George Washington. Others included farmers, physicians, and even clergymen.

Along with Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, the sharpest mind among them was that of John Adams. After the ratification of the Constitution, he warned that “a Constitution of government once changed from freedom can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”

The healthcare bill is freedom lost forever. I hope I am wrong, but I now doubt it will be repealed, nullified by the states, or reversed by the Supreme Court. While it is true that most constitutional scholars believe it is unconstitutional, taking and twisting the Commerce clause beyond recognition, I believe the damage has been done.

I freely admit that, before the vote, I remained hopeful that, even if enacted and signed, it could be overturned, but I am now less confident of that. In retrospect, the entitlement society that began in the depths of 1930s Great Depression and has been expanded ever since has proven to be the slow poison that will undo our constitutional system of government.

Conservatives have long warned against the excesses and delusions of liberals, but we have also seen self-identified conservatives like former President George W. Bush preside over the expansion of Medicare with a prescription program that defied any manner of funding at a time when Medicare and Social Security was known to be going broke.

In 2005, Bush did try to mend the system for the vast redistribution of wealth by campaigning to allow workers to divert some of their Social Security into private accounts as a hedge against old age and illness. When Nancy Pelosi said this was a plan to unravel public pensions, the voters decided they didn’t like that idea.

I confess I have tried in my mind to dismiss the Speaker of the House as just some lunatic, fringe advocate for liberalism run amuck, but like a lot of Republicans today, it is clear that she was underestimated (along with the Senate’s Harry Reid) for her political skills.

She engineered a political victory that has not only restored President Obama’s reputation as a leader on the domestic front, but has set in motion the destruction of America’s frail financial foundations.

Few believe that the U.S. can continue to borrow the billions necessary to maintain Social Security and Medicare. The alternative, of course, is to tax all Americans to such an extent that it destroys the middle class and drives more corporations offshore.

Speaker Pelosi eat, drank, and breathed Democrat politics from birth. Her father, Thomas D’Alesandro was a congressman and mayor of Baltimore. Her brother was also a mayor of Baltimore. She made her first public speech at age seven at her father’s swearing in ceremony.

I opened with a quote by John Adams and will close with one by Thomas Jefferson:“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”

Americans, however, have long since abandoned the principles of the Constitution, a small and limited central government, for a behemoth that now controls our very lives through a bill that vastly expands the federal government and gives it the power to intervene between our physicians and ourselves.

We have been betrayed by an insurance industry that will be happy to rid itself the high risk and costly need to provide health insurance while continuing to prosper from life, property, and other forms. We have been betrayed by the pharmaceutical companies now salivating at the prospect of future profits funded by the taxpayers. The American Medical Association supported healthcare reform; a betrayal.

Even the States, many of which now want to protect themselves from even greater unfunded mandates, have long since abandoned their sovereignty by allowing the federal government to control education, highways, environment, and a myriad of other local responsibilities.

None of the institutions of government, not the executive, not the Congress, and probably not the courts will uphold a Constitution now distorted beyond recognition. Despite the usual talk of a new revolution, of midterm elections to return power to the Republican Party, the People are essentially defenseless.

Tell me I am wrong. Then tell me why.

Obama’s Ideology Threatens America ...

I began this week with a small remnant of hope that the Democrats/Progresssives/Socialist/Marxists in the US House of Representatives would fail in their under-handed, lowdown, and sneaky attempt to pass ObamaCare into law WITHOUT it ever having passed the House by a vote. But as the days have passed it is becoming ever more clear that that is exactly what they are going to do.

We have warned our readers over and over that America under the Obama Regime has become a Socialist republic, not unlike the Democratic Socialist Republic of the former Soviet Union, or the current Democratic Republic of North Korea. America is no longer a constitutional republic as it has been since The Founders of our nation gave us the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution.

In less than a year and a half, Obama has fulfilled his campaign promise to “FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE AMERICA!”

My friend, Alan Caruba, sees the destruction of America very much as I do. He has written many articles warning of the same dangers. Below is a recent article of Mr. Caruba’s. Please read it, digest it and determine, today, to get involved in the movement to save America and return her to her former constitutional republic status as our forefathers intended.

We CAN save America at the Ballot Box this coming November by voting the Socialists and Progressives and Marxists out of office.

Obama’s Ideology Threatens America

During what can only be hoped will be the final struggle between the socialist and capitalist approach to health care the debate is focused on the cost of Obamacare, its impact on the nation’s economy, its legislative over-reach, and the fact that it will ration care. If Obama wins, America loses. The “reforms” will ultimately end up killing people who would otherwise have survived illness or injury if it is implemented. Beyond that, Obama’s efforts to control large segments of the economy will pick up momentum.

An entire generation or more of Americans who did not live through the Cold War waged against the former Soviet Union or saw the rise of communism in China are unaware of the toll it took on humanity. In a 1997 book, “The Black Book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression”, published by Harvard University, it set the death tolls at 65 million in China, 20 million in the Soviet Union, and so on. The total worldwide exceeded 100 million.

This week Americans will see if their system of government works to represent their will. When it controls the provision of health care, the government will literally have life and death authority over people.

Those who voted for Obama, giving him a fairly slim margin of victory, and those who instinctively sensed something terribly wrong in the man have now had their worst fears confirmed. If our system of government works, it will reject Obamacare because that is what it was designed to do. The Constitution is structured to slow down the passage of a really bad law and to create obstacles to bringing it to a vote.

Only an administration with a totalitarian inclination would go to the lengths we’ve seen to pass a law that 75% of the people reject.

Obama is driven entirely by ideology and it’s the same one that motivated Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, and the other dictators of the last century.

Ideologically, Obama is a communist whose views were shaped by a communist mentor in his youth. He is a true believer in the economic and social views of communism that government must control all aspects of the individual’s life and owns the fruits of his labors and earnings.

Over the years the voters have elected representatives and senators who subscribe to socialism since its introduction during the FDR era. Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not have to concern herself with the nearly 80 members of the Progressive Caucus. She has no Republican votes. It’s the other Democrats who are giving her fits.

Beyond Obamacare, there are other issues that are directly affected by his ideology and at the top of the list is the belief that the economy must be destroyed in order that a new set of governing principles be imposed. It is astonishing how the power of the executive and a highly centralized government facilitates this.

No element of government rule is safe from Obama’s clique of leftist “czars” installed to direct the various departments of government. From attempting to seize large portions of land for federal control to threats to regulate carbon dioxide, the heavy hand of socialist goals can be seen. The administration moved swiftly to acquire control over General Motors and Chrysler instead of allowing them to go through bankruptcy for restructuring. Its “stimulus” program not only isn’t producing jobs, the number of jobless grows with every passing month.

Obama’s most troubling ideological threat to the nation is in the area of national security. In his book, “Courting Disaster”, Marc Theissen documents “how Barack Obama has exposed (CIA) secrets to the enemy, unilaterally disarmed us in the face of terror, and invited the next attack.” Another attack would be the opportunity to declare a national emergency and impose martial law.

Regarding the CIA interrogation program that produced invaluable intelligence about the structure of al Qaeda as well as its plans for more attacks, Theissen notes that “in his first forty-eight hours in office, President Obama shut the program down.” That is not the act of a man whose very oath of office requires that he swear to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States” and, by doing so, protect its citizens.

The President’s ideology and that of his Attorney General blinded both to the obvious idiocy of extending Constitutional rights to enemy combatants, men not even protected by the Geneva Convention rules of warfare. The announcement that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed would be tried in New York City produced instant and widespread outrage.

Outrage has also been demonstrated by the thousand and more TEA Party (Taxed Enough Already) groups that have sprung up around the nation. Their protests are being heard despite the effort of the mainstream media to marginalize them. The best thing Barack Obama could do for his nation would be to submit his letter of resignation as President. He’s not likely to do that because he is too busy trying to destroy America.

The National I. D. Card will guarantee the federal government’s complete control over every man, woman and child in the US, period!

If you want the government to have total control over your life, then do nothing and very soon we will all be carrying that blasted National I. D. Card.

A National I. D. Card will grant the federal government the power to reach into the everyday lives of people living in this country on an unprecedented level.

If you are one of the few, (rare) Americans, these days, who actually believes in freedom -- actually believes you have a God-given right to privacy, actually believes the you are entitled to the freedoms and liberties outlined in the original Constitution of the United States -- then you had better rise up and fight for them because we are on the extreme edge of losing them and becoming slaves to the all powerful Central Government the “Progressives” such has Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Democratic Senator Charles Shumer of New York apparently want for their fellow Americans.

At “crimefilenews.com” we read the following:

“Washington, DC—There may be benefits to this idea. What we really get is a greater Police State. This is about total control over every man woman and child. The power connected to those with access to the database is absolute. ... .” Read the entire story HERE.

I recently saw a reminder, on the internet, concerning the 2,000-year-old prophecy, in The Bible, that tells of a time when every living person must have a number, a mark, if you will, in order to buy and sell. The writer went on to say that up to the current time, this prophecy could not be accomplished. But now, with the advent of computers, it can be fulfilled and -- it appears -- our own government will be in the vanguard of the nations ordering its citizens to have such a mark, such a number. Could it be “The National I. D. Card?”

As a person who values his privacy I must ask: who will have access to my personal information?

A National I. D. Card could hold huge troves of information. It could include information such as: where you live, where you have lived in the past, information on your family, information on your religion and information on your ObamaCare "Public Option” Government-run Insurance policy, plus more information on your education, and even the registration of your guns!

Think about it. A National I. D. Card will, most likely, contain your fingerprints, a scan of your iris, or even your DNA profile on it.

Of a necessity there must be a National Database containing continually updated personal information. We already know that once that database is created by the government, it will grow larger and larger and more encompassing.

How are we going to know who would seek access to our information and how can we be sure that permission won’t be granted?

A few months back I wrote the following:

“I have to ask: what is wrong with Americans? Are we sheep to be herded by a National Shepherd? Where is the individualism that won this country from the British and then stretched it across the entire continent to the shores of the Pacific? Even the oceans could not hold back our burning desire for FREEDOM! Yet, today, we are begging the federal government to take our freedoms away! This is scandalous! This borders on cowardice of the highest magnitude!

Are we so quick to give back the liberties bought with the precious blood of our forefathers, our ancestors, and in many cases our immediate relatives? In cemeteries all over the globe lie the bodies of American men and women who put their lives on the line and shed their blood up to the "last full measure" to ensure you and I the freedoms we are now begging the Federal Government to take away!

Our national motto is: "In God We Trust." Apparently it’s a lie! If we truly placed our trust in God we would not be so hasty to misplace it in a government, which is already too big and intrusive.”

We are told the National I. D. Card will help in the fight against illegal immigration. How exactly? Illegal aliens will continue to slip across an unsecured border and they will continue to work for cash under the table -- as has been noted by others.

No, a National I. D. Card is just another way for the federal government to gain control over the masses. That’s you and me.

I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me. I am proud of my ancestors some of whom were bootleggers and smugglers. They left me more than fond memories. They left me with a strong distrust of government. I think that distrust is healthy. They left me something else as well. They made me understand that the government is not responsible for me. They taught me that a man is always responsible for himself. They taught me the more I depended on government the more dependence government would require until I had nothing left to give -- and then I would find that I was a slave to that government.

The National I. D. Card must be stopped. Contact your congressperson and your senators and let them know how you feel about the government having complete control over you. Remind them that the Mid-Term Election is coming up in November and you intend to vote.

In this Constitutional Republic we call America; it is up to us, the citizens, to keep our government on a short rein. Indeed, it is our duty, as citizens, to keep the tentacles of government out of our every day existence. They have no business there. We must be wary of "Knee-Jerk" responses to danger, real or imagined, such as I believe the National I.D. Card to be. If the government wants to "Card" somebody, why not make every one not a citizen of this country carry one (an I.D. card) while inside our borders?

As I look about me today, at modern day America, I have to conclude we have failed at the single most important task we have as adult Americans. That task is to preserve freedom in this country… to guarantee a future for our children in a free nation.

A National ID card is much the same as a tattooed number on your forearm. It is proof of ownership… by someone other than you.

If natural progression holds true, next will come the National RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chip implanted at birth. It will broadcast a radio signal all the days of your life telling the government who you are, and where you are, at all times. National ID, of any kind, takes away one of your basic rights, the right to privacy.

It is time to get a grip, America! Our National Anthem says: “…The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.” Well, don’t you think it is about time we began to act like it? A National ID card would say to the world just the opposite.

Well, the BIG Push is on to ram ObamaCare through the Congress and down the throats of the American people.

Obama is jetting around the country holding pep rallies to try to gin up support for the “Bill from Hell” -- Socialized Medicine. You should know these rallies include ONLY Obama supporters and ObamaCare supporters. The wild enthusiasm is staged for your benefit to, hopefully, give you the impression that ObamaCare is supported by the majority of Americans. The truth is – it is NOT.

These rallies are all propaganda. It’s “The BIG LIE” told over and over again just as the Nazis in Germany did to convince the people of an entire country they truly desired the socialism of the Nazi Party. I must tell you Joseph Goebbels, the Reich Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945, would be proud of the Democratic Party in America today. The Obama Regime has taken a page from the leftist Nazis of the last century on how to brainwash an entire nation into believing a lie. A lie that, once accepted, will spell the absolute doom of America.

The Democratic Party, by itself, simply does not give a damn! They are interested in two things and two things only -- and that is to maintain their hold on the government of the US and to ensure their reelection. They simply have no sympathy for what the American people truly want. Plus, THEY DON’T CARE WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT! All that counts is what they, the Democrats, want.

It is called “Command and Control.” A strong central government in charge of a “command and control economy” is their dream -- and it is their goal. They intend to reach that goal no matter what -- even if it means shredding the US Constitution.

Those of us on the right vowing to throw the Socialists and Marxists, masquerading as Democrats, out of the Congress this November had better watch our backs. The dems are quietly lining up the resistance to our movement and between now and November the right will come under attack, intensifying each day as the election draws nearer and nearer.

They are quietly conspiring with the less literate democrat voters and those who, for generations, have depended on the government welfare dole for their existence. Their intention is to flood the polls in November of 2010 to offset and overwhelm the anti-ObamaCare. These “wards of the federal government” will be flooding the polling places, everywhere in America, to dilute the opposition to ObamaCare and defeat the efforts to save the constitutional republic we know as America. Their intent is to create, once and for all, a Socialist/Communist America. And they may very well succeed!

For years those of us who have had the foresight to see the Socialized Medicine Bill for what it is, even though it is wrapped in the pretty package of ObamaCare, have worked tirelessly to expose it as a true Socialized Medicine Bill anchored in Marxism and Communism.

There are times when this scribe feels as though I am standing in front of a wall shouting the warning at the top of my lungs only to have it bounce back onto myself with little, if any, effect on the people whom the Bible describes as a people who have “stopped their ears.”

I must admit to weariness and fatigue and frustration, as the realization sets in that the masses of ObamaCare advocates, like lemmings, have chosen to follow their own Pied Piper -- this time straight over a cliff and into a Marxist/Communist hell-like oblivion.

During this fight, I have gained a better insight into Noah’s dilemma. He preached over and over the warning that a deadly flood was coming and would wipe out every man, woman, and child – but to no avail. As the story goes every one was killed except for the handful aboard Noah’s Ark.

America is on the verge of collapse. The final step ensuring that collapse is the passage of ObamaCare.

(Americans are being pounded with politicians decrying the state of our healthcare system. Obama is calling for his own sort of socialized medicine we have chosen to refer to as “ObamaCare.” Today it has become known as “ObamaCare 2.0.”)

We have very few freedoms left in this formerly great (and FREE) country. The fastest way to lose those we have left is to have a National Healthcare Program administered by the Federal Government.

I have quoted “someone” a number of times on this site that said: “If you think Healthcare is expensive now… wait ‘til it’s free!” Truer wirds have never been spoken!

I have a food bank near me. I watch as folks drive up in fancy, expensive, automobiles and load their trunks up with free food. I watch as lines form to get the “free” food with those in the line chattering away on their cell phones. . It occurred to me that what I am seeing is exactly what will happen to our healthcare system if the government pronounces it free! People who haven’t been to a doctor in many years will suddenly have an urge to visit a physician. I mean -- it’s FREE! No matter that it is estimated that roughly 40% of all illnesses will eventually run their courses and the patient will be returned to good health, whether or not they see a physician. I mean… damn, it’s FREE!

Soon the hospitals and doctors will be swamped with the tsunami of new patients. (Already America is suffering a shortage of doctors.) The system, not able to handle it, will collapse. It will fall to the government to decide who sees the doctor and when. And that, dear reader, is when things REALLY get screwed-up! A bureaucrat will be making decisions on whether YOU see a doctor, or not, and which doctor you will see… and when. And it goes down hill from there.

I know I sound like somebody in perfect health who is not sensitive to the problems of people with illnesses. Well, if you think that, you are incorrect. I have been hospitalized between over 75 times in my life. I have an incurable disease, which will eventually, directly, or indirectly, cause my death. I am a walking, talking, “pharmacy tech” who has never had a day of formal training. Thank God, my offspring IS a Doctor of Pharmacy.

The long and the short of it is… I know about the healthcare system in America, because I have seen it, experienced it, if you will; close up, for my entire life. And must tell you, I have seen it implode in the past 20 years, or so, and I know why. Among my close friends are doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and radiologists with whom that I am on a first name basis.

One of the reasons we are in such a situation is the illegal immigration in this country. It has put such a tremendous load on our healthcare system that it is near collapse today..

We have been told that if you don’t have insurance you cannot be treated in America. That, to put it bluntly, is a lie of the first order. If you show up at a hospital emergency room in America it is against the law for the hospital to turn you away and not treat you… whether or not you can pay. If you doubt me, I invite you to choose a hospital close to you and drop in on the Emergency Department on any weekend. You will quickly see the truth in what I am telling you here. Many Emergency Departments have had to close down simply because they can no longer afford to care for those without insurance in America.

So far, the hospitals have been passing along the cost of treating those without insurance to those with insurance. That’s why a cotton ball, which you can purchase in any department store, will cost you about a penny, or less, but the same cotton ball will cost you several dollars in an American hospital. SOMEBODY has to pay. Problem is… the hospitals have reached a saturation point with their insured patient’s insurance companies. Some insurance companies are, even now, sending their subscribers overseas for surgery. Contrary to what you may have heard, they are not sending them overseas for a better quality of care… but for a lower cost to the insurance company!

If you think our healthcare system is in a mess now, as Al Jolson would say: “You ain’t seen nothing yet!”

We have all dealt with government bureaucrats at some point in our lives. You already know the tedium, you know the frustration. Wait ‘til your doctor is a bureaucrat!

And finally, NOTHING is FREE! Those who are determined to create a nanny state here in the USA will tell you the National Healthcare System will be free. That, dear reader is a crock, a load of bovine scatology! You are going to pay for it. I’m going to pay for it. Taxes will go sky high… and then some.

The politics of Universal Healthcare is pure socialism. You can call it what you want, but the bare fact is… it is socialism!

There has been a movement underway, in this country, which the democrat party adopted, way back in the fifties and sixties, to turn America into a socialist state like unto Europe. They have almost accomplished their goal. Universal Healthcare will be their crowning achievement!

For all intents and purposes, America is no longer a democratic republic. America has already become a socialist state. Those of us old codgers who remember when we were prepared to go to war to fight the spread of socialism cringe when we see how our country, America, has deteriorated into the black hole of socialism. We cringe when we hear today’s politicians, national leaders, as it were, spouting Marxist slogans from the floor of the Congress. The national nightmare has become the American dream. Now we wait to see “American Socialism” suffocate the human spirit in Americans as it has already begun to do.

The ObamaCare 2.0 plan is more socialism. It will only strengthen the power the government already has over the citizens of America. The “Public Option” will cause those of us who have healthcare provided by our employers, or former employers to lose our healthcare and leave us no choice but to migrate to one of Obama’s Healthcare “exchanges,” and ultimately to the government-run health insurance company.

Even though the public option is not a part of ObamaCare 2.0 rest assured that it will be – and soon. Understand ObamaCare 2.0 is only a “starter plan.” The socialist government we have in charge in America today plans to continue passing healthcare packages extending the reach of ObamaCare 2.0 until it encompasses everything the original plan contained including the Public Option and much, much, more. One day, when it is far too late, Americans will look back and ask themselves; “How did we allow this to happen?” But, of course, as we said, it will be too late. Our government shackles will restrain us from turning back the clock until we can recapture our lost freedom. We will be slaves to an all powerful socialist central government

America was once, not very long ago, a land of unlimited possibilities…a land of new horizons everyday. No longer. We have chosen security over freedom. That’s all it took. Freedom is s fragile thing. One blow from the hammer of socialism and freedom shatters… and is no more.

Change is not always good. This “changed” America is definitely not as good as the America we had before we decided to exchange freedom for socialism.

Today, Americans are just beginning to awaken and learn the nightmare they are experiencing is not a nightmare one experiences during REM sleep. In fact, they learn, to their utter surprise, they are NOT sleeping. This nightmare is NO DREAM. It is REAL. And, it was brought on by Americans who THOUGHT they wanted, and yes, even NEEDED change.

Many of the votes that were cast last November for “change” were votes from young people who had no idea what they were trading and what they were getting for the trade. They are the product of a public education system in America now almost totally ruled over by the political left, which still seeks the Nirvana of Utopia through Socialism. After 12, or more, years in the public education system, then 2 to 4 more years in those bastions of liberalism/socialism we refer to as colleges and universities, is it any wonder their Pavlovian response in the voting booth was to pull all the levers by the names of the candidates who were decidedly left-wing candidates? Hardly! They were simply reacting to the stimuli implanted in their malleable minds as they made their way through an education system designed to do just that.

And now, some six months after the deed is done, we are just on the cusp of the avalanche of hurt coming our way as our country is about to collapse around us.

Those of us who knew socialism’s sad story of lies, deceit, and destruction are not surprised at America’s precarious position today. We knew it would happen. We have watched socialism from its birth. We watched socialism’s struggle to grow while it murdered its host country all the while. Like a physician trying to heal a patient, by draining the patient’s body of all its blood, socialism drains a nation of it’s life-giving force and leaves it a broken shell of its former self. Even as robust a nation as Russia required assistance from former enemies, just to survive, after throwing off the bonds of socialism a few short years ago.

Pope Pius XI once said: “It is wrong to withdraw from the individual and commit to the community at large what private enterprise and industry can accomplish. So, too, it is an injustice, a grave evil, and a disturbance of right order for a larger and higher organization to arrogate to itself functions which can be performed efficiently by smaller and lower bodies.”

Now we are observing this “wrong,” and this “injustice,” Pope Pius XI warned of, play out right before our eyes here in America.

The “old” America was truly “something else!” She was a dream. She was a land of unlimited opportunities and horizons that went on forever. She was the envy of the world!

Americans were optimistic people who threw themselves into the task of firing the furnace of the engine of democracy and delighting in the rewards of their own labor. The “American Dream” was so big and so multi-faceted that no one could describe it!

One British author, John Keegan, described America this way:

“Left to themselves, Americans build, cultivate, bridge, dam, canalize, invent, teach, manufacture, think, write, lock themselves in struggle with the eternal challenges that man has chosen to confront, and with an intensity not known elsewhere on the globe.

Bidden to make “War” their work, Americans shoulder the burden with intimidating purpose. If I were obliged to define the American mystery, I would say it is the ethos - masculine, pervasive, unrelenting - of work as an end in itself. War is a form of work, and America makes war in a particularly workmanlike way. I do not love war; but I love America!” - John Keegan, author of “Fields of Battle: The Wars for North America” is a British military historian, lecturer, and journalist.

Mr. Keegan had it right This is what America used to be like. And for those of us who STILL remember her, as she was, today’s “changed” America is a bitter pill to swallow!

In the upcoming “summit” between Obama and the Republicans on his ObamaCare proposal… you know, the one the American people have flatly rejected… you can forget the democrats tossing out anything in the current proposal. Ain’t gonna happen. The dems, with the added weight of Obama, hope to overwhelm the Republicans and force them into folding and agreeing to reluctantly support ObamaCare so they, the democrats, can save face for Obama and themselves.

WE appeal to the GOP to hold fast. Don’t give an inch. This sorry piece of legislation deserves to be flatly, and completely, defeated, with a stake driven through its heart, and committed to the trash bin of history for all time.

It is nothing more than a power grab by the Progressives in the Congress. It is power they will use to ram their remaining socialist agenda through the Congress and into law. It is a sure and certain formula for the utter destruction of our constitutional republic. And that, dear reader is exactly what they want and what they are working tirelessly to accomplish.

If they win, it will spell the doom of the United States of America -- at least, what is left of the US today.

They must be stopped at the ballot box!

We warned they would try this. They have -- and they are.

Already, the White House is admitting that the “NEW” ObamaCare Proposal is only a “Starting Point” for healthcare legislation. We have warned many, many, times that the current Congress believes the American people are basically stupid. We have warned, just as many times, that they will pass ObamaCare by “Incrementalism,” one small piece of the plan, at a time, until they get the whole “hell spawned plan” in place and the government will have total control of the lives of every American.

It now appears the Obama Regime is readying itself to use the reconciliation process, which requires only 51 votes instead of the usual 60 votes for passage of a budget bill, to pass their abomination of a healthcare bill through the Senate. It appears to this scribe the democrats are still pressing to gain at least one republican vote for political cover in case their plan fails. Woe be unto any republican dumb enough to side with the dems in favor of what is now being referred to as ObamaCare 2.0.

Many conservatives, including “yours truly,” have been fighting ObamaCare for over two years. We began alerting our readers and listeners in the early days of the Presidential campaign and as far back, in some cases, as 2007. Why are we so dead set against government run healthcare? To put is as clearly and concisely, yes, as bluntly as I know h -- ObamaCare is socialized medicine, it is socialism, and socialism is the final step a nation takes before becoming a communist nation.

The American people HATE ObamaCare. The American people have told the government we do not want ObamaCare in any form. As evidence of this, look at the number of states that have already amended their state constitutions to ban any kind of government healthcare mandates handed down by the federal government. If you know your American history then you already know this has happened before in the US. Just before the American Civil War broke out into a shooting war, the southern states began passing “nullification” laws, within the states, which nullified federal laws and mandates placed on those states by the federal government of that day. Simply put a nullification law means those states will NOT adhere to, or abide by, those federal laws and mandates. Need I remind you of the next step taken by those states?

The American Civil War did not have to happen. It DID happen because the arrogant US Congress of that day refused to listen to the people of the southern states telling them, flat out, they would leave the Union if the Congress continued to govern against the will of the southern people.

Today the current US Congress is making the exact same mistake the Congresses of the 1840s and 1850s made -- and this time, it is not just the southern states warning Congress to take heed. This time, states all over the nation are frantically attempting to get the attention of the federal government by passing modern day nullification laws.

The signs are all there. A blind fool can read them. And yet, the federal government cannot hear them or, worse, it is ignoring them.

This way lies destruction. The peoples of the states have issued the clarion call. Just as the election of 1860 was the turning point, the day the nation split into two nations, the election of 2010 will decide if the US remains one country or shatters into two or more separate nations or confederations of states. One thing is certain: America cannot continue as a single entity of 50 states ruled over by a socialist government.

The 2010 election is the safety valve. If the pressure is released by a purge of the incumbents in the Congress then the US will survive. It the valve remains closed, and no pressure is released, the explosion of the US tearing itself apart will be heard, and felt, around the globe and will spell the end of the Great American Experiment.
