Mending European Fences...NOT!

Mending European fences…NOT!

You may choose to believe the President is in Europe mending fences if you wish. I, on the other hand, do not. George Bush is a leader. He doesn’t have to mend fences. Especially when the breakage was caused by the Europeans.

President Bush is ‘splaining it to them. He is laying out his vision for the next four years and inviting them to join us…or not.

Look, Bush is a leader. Right or wrong, he understands that a leader must lead from the front. A leader does not feel the need of consensus. Only an insecure “wannabe leader” would feel he, or she, needed consensus. “Consensus is the negation of leadership”. Thus said the Iron Lady of Great Britain, Lady Margaret Thatcher. The words were directed at George Bush’s father, George Herbert Walker Bush, prior to Gulf War One. This dire warning would not have been necessary with Bush Two.

Europe has chosen to make itself irrelevant. There is no more fight left in them. As they slowly adopted Democracy then swapped it for Socialism and voted themselves welfare from the cradle to the grave, they lost all aspiration for greatness. It’s gone. They appointed the US as the policeman of the world and the town marshal. Now they feel they have the right to moan and complain about the way we actually police it.

As a former police officer, I will never forget what the Clerk of Court said to me as she administered the Oath and pinned my badge on the front of my uniform. She said: ”You know, of course, that from this moment on, you are a Son of a Bitch.” Truer words were never spoken. It describes, to a tee, the situation between the USA and the rest of the world, especially Europe. They haven’t the spine to do what needs to be done and they hate us because we do.

Well, they’re going to have to live with it.

Your Obedient Servant,

“Longstreet”
