Outlaw the Practice of Islam Within the US???
Outlawing Islam Within the US.???
****************
What is it with the Islamic people?
I mean, they go to war with each other… people of their own faith. They murder and maim their brothers in the faith... OVER the faith. Well, over the way they choose to observe the faith, anyway.
How do we do it here in America? How do we manage to have as many separate, different religions, as we do, and manage not to kill each other, or maim each other, over whether one chooses to use wine or grape juice in Holy Communion, or the Eucharist.
This is crazy!
If we had the same sort of thing going on here we'd have the Baptists, and Methodists shooting at each other, blowing each other up, and bombing churches, etc. The Presbyterians and the Episcopals and the Lutherans would be doing much the same, except the Lutherans would bring a cover dish to the bombing! (We can't help ourselves. We Lutherans have been accused of not believing one can gain admittance to heaven without a covered dish!)
We also have the ability to laugh at each other’s practice of the Christian faith and we even, on occasion, laugh at our own practice of the faith.
Not the Muslims! (Or, Mohammedans, as they were called in my childhood).
No, it's off with your head if you dare make light of the one true faith... Islam.
Thank God the founders of this country made certain that would not happen here. We have the right to practice our religion, or not practice it, as we choose, save for those times and incidences, in which, the ACLU is offended… then we have to defend our practice of the faith in a court of law. Still, we do not blow the opposition to “kingdom come”.
But that may be drawing to a close. The Muslim community is growing by leaps and bounds in America... funded largely by the Middle Eastern oil producing Islamic countries who claim to be our friends. Their aim is to make America an Islamic country, also. If, and when, that occurs "Freedom of Religion" is GONE!
Recently we swore-in the first Congressperson of the Muslim faith (Islam). He refused to use the Bible to take his oath upon and did, instead, use the Koran, the holy book of Islam.
What we are seeing here is the "foot in the door" movement of Islam to eventually gain control of our government. But, you say, one Congressman is no threat! Well, I don’t feel that way. In fact, if I were a member of the House I would have lead a movement to not seat him in the House of Representatives. Plus, I would introduce a bill calling for a constitutional amendment to amend the First Amendment to prohibit the practice of Islam within the United States of America.
Sounds ridiculous, right? Well, in years down the road, I guarantee it will not sound so ridiculous… and we will, unfortunately, see that we missed a chance to stop a bloodbath in the making. For, eventually, that is where we, as a nation, are headed… unless we find the backbone to outlaw the practice of Islam in America.
Well, you may say, ole Longstreet is off his nut! Ok, that may be... but it is beside the point. Let me give you an example of how such a set of circumstances can and does lead to the complete takeover of a country or region of a country:
When Americans began to dribble into that part of Northern Mexico, which would later become a large part of the Southwestern US, one could only own land there if one converted to the Roman Catholic faith. Many "would-be landowners" did just that. They became Catholic and bought the land and married brides of Mexican descent. Just look at the state of Texas today! It is no longer a part of Mexico, and it sure as heck is not a Catholic state! If you don't believe it... ask the Baptists!
Nobody wants to "mess around" with the Constitution. But we have amended it 27 times so far. I point that out simply to suggest that just because the Constitution says something today, does not mean that it cannot be changed, especially when the security of the country might, very well, be at stake.
Looking at Europe today, and the way the Islamic community has turned on the people of other faiths, in the various European countries, I'll bet many of them wish they had taken measures to outlaw Islam there. They didn't... and they are about to lose their countries. Look at France. She is at the mercy of Islamic gangs. (Did you ever see a Christian gang???)
Ok, OK, I know it isn't going to happen. But, when the "defecation hits the rotary oscillator" in coming years, just remember, we proposed a way to avoid it.

As he should have... why should someone swear an oath on a book that means nothing to that individual? John Adams took his oath on a law book! As long as they do "protect and defend the Constitution" I don't care what they swear their oath on, as long as it means something to the person swearing to do so. Hebrews don't swear oaths on bibles containing the new testament, and if you want a book, any book to be used, you have to provide it. I personally would swear on a truck load of toilet paper, it is what would be needed to clean up all the crap in D.C. anyway, at least it would be handy.

Sounds familiar. I live in Northern Ireland, and Christian Terror groups (we have 15 outlawed by your state department) have been killing other Christians since the 60s in our perfectly preserved 16th century society. Sectarian violence is nothing new to me.

That is such a shame. It has become so common that it has slipped into the background noise of our lives. It is rare for any of our Media to report that ongoing tragedy anymore.
Hope you had a relaxing Christmas and New year!

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. -- Franklin
I'm about as anti-terrorist and anti-appeasement as they come, but you can't brush all Muslims with a single brush, any more than you can Christians. Northern Ireland has already been mentioned, but it's by no means the only time in history when Christian sectarian violence has spiraled out of control.
I think it's a great step forward for our country when we accept that Christianity is not a prerequisite to being an American. This entire debate reminds me of the furor when JFK was elected President. Millions of Americans were mortified, believing that a Catholic would always obey the Pope, and thus the US would be placed under Papal control. It didn't happen then, and it won't happen now. There are moderates in every religion.
It's very important that we remember who our enemies are. Our enemies are all those who think they know better than the people, and can disregard the will of the populace to get what they want. In effect, those who oppose democracy because they think they know what's right and we don't. Bin Laden falls clearly in this category, as do terrorists trying to destroy the elected Iraqi government. Be careful when you call for the removal of an elected representative of the people, based solely on his religion. After all, the Iraqi government has a few Christians elected. The terrorists think only (Sunni/Shia, edit as appropraite) representatives should be allowed. What do you think?
If the Catholics, and Protestants, and Jews, wanted to establish a theocracy in the States, I'd say outlaw them, too.
Therein lies only one of the many differances, as I see it.
Thanks for the comment!

I would like to see the day when religion is kept firmly out of politics. In Northern Ireland we do not have elections based on the issues of economy, education, health provision etc.. all we have is a sectarian head count when we ask the all important question, "are there still more prods than micks."

As Nervouse Rodent states "Our enemies are all those who think they know better than the people, and can disregard the will of the populace to get what they want."
Terrorism here in Northern Ireland has failed to force us into a United Ireland, the same as islamic terrorism will fail.

In these days of Political Correctiness it is awfully difficult to see thru that PC Facade and keep one's eyes on "The good guys always win!"

Then outlaw the Christian Coalition , shut down Bob Jones University, and get the Zionist factions and influence out of our media and politics.
If they were trying to establish a Theocracy, I'd agree with you. But they are not. I know those people. They're "originalists". They want the government to stick to the original intent of the Constitution. All that changed in April of 1965. The original Constitution was trashed in order to set up a strong central (federal) government.
We all see how well that has turned out!
