America Seen as Weak in Treatment of Terrorists

Civilian Trials Provide Soapboxes for Terrorists.

So now we are going to try the terrorists in civilian federal trials in New York City, just blocks away from the site of the former World Trade Center Twin Towers, where 3,000 innocents were murdered. Can you possible see how this move by the Obama Regime makes the US appear weak, indecisive, and just plain DUMB to our enemies?

The terrorists had already been charged in military courts. Now the government is snatching them out of the hands of the one judicial system in America where justice for their heinous acts was certain. Instead they will be provided with a soapbox upon which to preach their hatred of America to their acolytes around the world.

As I listen to all the whining from the Left, and from the Right, about the terrible, terrible, way we are treating those poor terrorists who want to kill us, and our kids, it curdles my stomach!

What about the families of the 3,000 they murdered? What about the 5,000 more who have given their lives in combat against their like in the Iraq and Afghanistan where the battles rage on.

Now think about this for a moment: Has anyone considered the imminent danger to every member of the jury/juries in these terrorist trials? It is certainly within the realm of possibility that some Islamic religious authority, somewhere, will issue a “Fatwa” calling for the death of every member of those juries. (A fatwa is issued by a recognized religious authority in Islam. SOURCE). That Fatwa would stand, I suspect, for the lifetimes of those jurors. I have to wonder if the government has made arrangements to place every juror in the Federal Witness Program, along with their immediate families, for the remainder of their lives? (Fatwas involving violence are more likely to be well known than other fatwas, especially to non-Muslims. One possible reason is that non-Muslims regard most fatwas as not affecting them, but fatwas involving violence can potentially affect them. Fatwas do not only affect Non-muslims. From: Wikipedia)

Isn’t this question being considered? Think about it. Who the heck is going to want to serve on those juries? Surely they will be surrounded by armed guards 24 hours a day for months and possibly even years as these trials grind on. As we know, terrorist trials have a way of lasting not weeks, not months, but years.

I am now more convinced than ever that the longhaired clowns from the sixties who chanted: “peace, love, and pot,” are running the US government now. (I have long been convinced they are running the universities, colleges, and public schools in this country.)

I cannot, for the life of me, understand how they can be so stupid! So, utterly, hopelessly, stupid! I guess all that “funny weed” screwed-up their brains! That has to be the answer. Stupidity of that magnitude is not natural. It has to be self-induced.

When we finally get a group of those rabid killers caged up, the “limp-wristed,” and “jelly-spined,” among us begin to worry that we might treat them badly and they would, in turn, think badly of us -- like they loved us before we captured their sorry behinds and tossed them in the can!

I swear… if the Mainstream Media, and the Political Left, of today, had been around during the Second World War, all of us on the east coast would be speaking German and the folks on the west coast would be speaking Japanese.

We have given birth to a generation of wimps!

Look, when some group of “religious nuts” publicly vows to kill you and makes a rather emphatic attempt at it, and in the process manages to kill, oh, say, 3000 of our citizens, I have to believe they are serious… and we are duty bound, as Americans, to hunt them down… and liquidate them by any, and all, means necessary. Eradicate as many as it takes to remove the threat to my family and yours.

If some manage to be taken alive, cage them for the rest of their natural lives. Give them food and water, and little else, until their respective deity calls them home!

I am not interested in treating them with kindness. Not in the least. The fact that they still have a pulse is straining my “compassion limits” as it is.

The MSM, the Political Left, and even some on the Political Right, have managed to make the US the laughing stock of the Middle East! They think we’re a bunch of pansies… and who can blame them. We sure as heck act like it!

All the moaning, and whining, about those poor fruitcakes in Gitmo, is sickening. Some of those guys are living better IN PRISON than they ever did before we grabbed their sorry behinds and tossed them in those cages.

So, if you feel really, really, bad about our treatment of the terrorists, just keep it to yourself. I don’t want to hear it. Your cowering posture and your groveling is making us all look bad. And, in my opinion, it is bordering on giving aid and comfort to the enemy!

We have 3000 dead, from the attack in New York, and another 5,000, or so, dead in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the socialists running the US government these days want to play “patty-cake” with those bloodthirsty killers???

I know the scriptures say:” Vengeance is mine, sayth the Lord.” That’s fine by me… as long as He hurries it up -- and lets me watch!

This is a sad time in world history. The “Shining City on a Hill,” so often referred to by Ronald Reagan, has fallen.

The great American Spirit has been broken by a socialist government, which feeds on power and has neither love nor concern for its people. Just power, raw political power, and they’ll do whatever is necessary to maintain their grasp on that power.

Is this the way the greatest nation ever to exist in the history of the planet goes out… on bended knee, with heads bowed, and necks bared to the blade of a government grown fat and ugly on raw power? Is this it?

Or… do we rise up, in righteous anger, and take our government back from those whose thirst for power has taken the USA to the brink of extinction as a nation?

The people of America must make a decision before November of 2010. Do we allow those we entrusted with our safety, and security, to continue to tear the country apart, or do we clean the house at the polls? Do we vote to send those incumbent politicians back to Washington… after what they have done to this country, or, do we run our own candidates, candidates sworn to take this country back to is roots in the Constitution, candidates sworn to ensure the domestic tranquility and security of this nation? Yes, all this is extremely important, but we are going to desperately need candidates who will return the US to its status as a democratic republic.

The socialist in charge if the US government are working feverishly to impose socialized medicine on all Americans regardless of whether we want it or not. They intend to force us to purchase health insurance although; the constitution invests no such power in the Congress. Many Americans maintain that healthcare is not a concern of the Federal government. It is ONLY the concern of the private citizen. It is up to each individual American to decide for himself, or herself, if they wish to invest in health insurance. But the federal government, in true socialist style, is determined to force all Americans to purchase it.

True Americans do not rely on the government. Americans who wish to better themselves, to amount to something, must rely upon themselves, not the federal government. Here is what President Theodore Roosevelt had to say about that: “If an American is to amount to anything he must rely upon himself, and not upon the State; he must take pride in his own work, instead of sitting idle to envy the luck of others. He must face life with resolute courage, win victory if he can, and accept defeat if he must, without seeking to place on his fellow man a responsibility which is not theirs." I don’t know about you, but I want my country back! I want that America which would look anybody, any nation, any political philosophy, such as socialism, in the eye and say: “If you want my country, then, by God, you’ll have to fight me to the death for it!”

Something must be done. The federal government has made it clear they intend to foist socialism on the people of America. We have a chance to stop them a year from now at the ballot box. One year is not a long time in a fight for the life of a country. We must begin now.

Defense of a nation by the people of that nation is "Self Defense." Self-defense is a God given right. Many Americans took oaths, upon entering the US military, to defend America from all enemies foreign and domestic. Many are now remembering their oaths and asking themselves if there is an expiration date on the oath they took. It is a question well worth pondering.

If we want to save what is left of the republic, we must begin now and be ready in November 2010. We cannot afford to lose the next round at the ballot box. Even if we win, many decades of hard work will await us as we attempt to heal the nation from the damage done it by the brief experiment with socialism lead by the current administration.

The nation cries out for rescue. We must not turn our backs a second time. She will not survive.

Ever hear of something called “The National War Powers Commission”? Well, it was put together by the Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia. It is billed as a private, non-partisan, panel led by former US Secretaries of State James A. Baker, III and Warren Christopher. It is said the commission will examine how the Constitution allocates the powers of beginning, conducting, and ending war.

From our perspective (as a lowly American citizen) this is just another way of getting “creative” with the US Constitution because there are elements within our government that do not like the Constitution, especially in it’s original form, and are determined to change it. All the flowery language aside, they are screwing around with the balance of power in the US government.

There is an interesting article by William Matthews entitled “Congress Mulls War-Powers Overhaul” at the “Defense News” site. We recommend it to you. You will find it HERE.

So, what have they proposed that has my ire pulsing a bright red? A number of things, but first and foremost… they chose to ignore the clear, plain, language of the US Constitution. There is no ambiguity in the Constitution’s bestowing upon the Congress the power to declare war. Period. The President can ASK for a declaration of war… but he does not have the constitutional power to declare this country at war, period. Along comes the so-called National War Powers Consultation Act and, suddenly, the office of the President is dragged into the decision to declare war. That is clearly unconstitutional. The President is given only the power to command the armed forces in a war, which has been declared, FIRST, by the Congress. Nothing could be clearer.

I ask you, what is so hard about reading the constitution and understanding what it says in plain English? I do not understand it! Ever since the 2nd Amendment was ratified Americans have had the right to keep and bear arms, but… just a short time ago 4 out of the 9 Supreme Court Justices didn’t think Americans had that right… even though The Constitution plainly says that we do. Now comes this abomination, which totally ignores the constitution and decides that Congress doesn’t have the sole power to declare war but must share that power with the executive branch, the office of the Commander-in-Chief. It’s another attempt at an end run around the constitution and it ought to be shot down immediately.
We have had four wars since World War Two and the Congress could not drag up enough courage to declare war. I suppose we Americans are expecting too much of our Congress when we ask them to show a little courage and leadership.

Oh, and allow me to remind you that the Congress of the US approved the invasion of Iraq! It is a matter of record. And that is as close as they are ever likely to come, again, to declaring war on another country.

One must remember that even though the Founding Fathers had no telephones, telegraphs, e-mail, faxes, or text messaging, the first Congress of the US was much more in touch with the people of the United States than the current Congress. Understand, the original idea was that the Congress would maintain a link with their constituents, so they would always know the people’s feelings about the direction of the country. But recent congresses have seen fit to cut themselves off from their constituents. With no term limits on their time in office we have created a “ruling class”, for all intents and purposes, unanswerable to the American people. The power to declare war was bestowed upon the Congress because The Founders felt that link to the people would always be there -- more so than with the office of the President.

Declaring war is quite likely the most daunting decision a Congressperson or a Senator will make while in office. Since World War Two the Congress has been running from that responsibility. The War Powers Consultation Act would give the Congress one more fig leaf to hide behind, and it would do nothing to aid the country in time of crisis. It should be tossed out… the sooner the better!

Obama Hood and his Merry Band, up on the Hill in DC, are doing their best to emulate the tale of Robin Hood by robbing the rich and giving it to the, well, who the heck ARE they giving it too? Beats me!

Look, I make no secret of the fact that I rather like rich folks. As a matter of fact, I’d really like to join their ranks, but, alas, time is running out for wealth acquisition for this old scribe and even if I made it suddenly, I‘d be hard pressed to spend it all before I go. You see, I DO understand that I cannot take it with me and since I have no say in whether I go, or not, I have concluded that I must be content with my station in life for the last few years.

Rich folks pay too darn much in taxes! There, I’ve said it. It needs saying because it is the truth. The following is from an article by Ed Feulner entitled: “Tax the Wealthy Even More? That’s Rich”. Mr. Feulner said the following: “Economist Curtis Dubay of The Heritage Foundation ran the numbers earlier this year. He found that in 2006, the top 20 percent of earners made 55.7 percent of all pre-tax income, up slightly from 54.8 percent in the year 2000. Yet at the same time, their share of federal income taxes increased from 81.2 percent to 86.3 percent. And the further up the income ladder one goes, the greater percentage of the total tax burden one shoulders. According to the IRS, in 2007 the top 1 percent of taxpayers paid more than 40 percent of all federal income taxes. The US cannot continue to wring every cent it can get from the rich. Why? Because the rich are going to leave, that’s why. We are all familiar with stories of wealthy families moving about within the United States from high tax states to lower taxing states. The same applies to the globe. If we are not extremely careful there is going to be a flood of rich folks leaving these shores and taking their wealth with them to other countries that, frankly, treat them, and their money, much better that the US government does.

The US is already broke. If the private wealth pulls out, we will be in a much worse economic state than we are today. Never forget that.

The wealthy provide the jobs, REMEMBER? Did you ever hear of a poor family opening a factory and hiring hundreds to work for that factory at decent wages? I dare say you have not. The government may boast of creating jobs, but it is all hot air. The private sector creates jobs and that portion of the private sector creating those jobs is the wealthy among us

Of course, we now have a socialist government in the US and the redistribution of the wealth is the hallmark of such a government. That simply means they take the wealth from those who have it and spread it around to those who don’t until everybody suffers equally.

With unemployment approaching ten percent in the US and marching toward 12 or 13 percent we are looking at years of hard times ahead. And we have precisely the wrong people in charge of our government at precisely the wrong time in our history.

Over three years ago we warned that the US might be nearing the brink of another shooting war in the Middle East. The expected antagonist will be Iran. Since then we have had a Presidential Election and a new President has taken over and, at least publicly, our new President says he wants to “talk” with Ahmadinejad, Iran’s leader. We felt now would be a good time to refresh our memories as to who the leader of Iran REALLY is

We are facing an enemy, in Ahmadinejad, every bit as dangerous as Hitler and the Nazi party. At some point the US will have to deal with this man and with his insane plan to take the world into chaos. When that day comes, chances are extremely good that the world will, once again turn to the United States to retrieve it’s chestnuts from the fire.

While the totally ineffective UN plays at placating Ahmadinejad, he grows stronger as he nears the realization of his dream of an Iranian Atom bomb.

If the US were blessed with forward thinking leaders, we would be building up our armed forces in preparation for this confrontation, which is just around the corner. But we cannot do so with the limp-wristed leaders we have in the Congress today.

The US “standing Army” should be doubled. Our Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corp need to be doubled in strength… and as quickly as possible. If that means reinstitution of the draft… then so be it. When war with Iran comes, it won’t be fought from 15,000 feet with smart bombs. It will be a slugfest in the air, on the sea, and on the land. It will not be contained in the Middle East. The continental US will be hit. We can count on it! Missiles launched from ships, lying off shore in international waters, can burst through our radar defenses and hit targets before we can react to stop them.

The US military is seriously weak at this point in our history. Shortsightedness, and a tendency to believe “we can all just get along,” has led the US into a “head in the sand” policy, which will come back to haunt us… and to hurt us.

The US needs a crash program, right now; to build up our military might to a state of readiness we reached in the midst of the Second World War. Although our leaders don’t want to admit it, we are facing the same intensity of danger as we did at the beginning of that war when our military was at one of its lowest ebbs.

When one looks at the threats to the security of the US today and compares it to the reaction of our leadership toward meeting that threat, if one has an ounce of sense, one must be seriously frightened. Our Congressional leadership is tooling along as if nothing in the world matters except passing socialized medicine legislation into law ASAP.

Well, I have news for Congress… and the White House. (It ought not be news to the Congress or the President, but it apparently is.) It will soon be time to go to war in a serious manner. “Pussyfooting” around, with Iran, as we have been doing with Iraq and Afghanistan will only end in the destruction of the US as a nation. We will only win a war with Iran by utterly destroying them. There will be no room for political correctness. There will be no call for “winning the hearts and minds” of the Iranians. We won’t have time! We’ll be fighting for our very existence!

In the meantime, I fully expect the current administration to continue along it’s fairy tale path, assured in it’s own ignorance, that we can talk our way, negotiate our way, out of war with Iran, until thousands of Americans lie dead, and irradiated, in the streets of our large east coast cities.

However, over at the Pentagon, they are preparing a 30,000-pound “Bunker Buster” Bomb designed to reach down into the depths of the Iranian soil and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities. The new bunker buster is called the "Massive Ordnance Penetrator," or “MOP” – and it is the largest non-nuclear bomb in the U.S. arsenal. It is designed to carry 5,300 pounds of explosives. The “MOP” is about 10 times more powerful than the weapon it is going to replace. Sources say the MOP will be ready by next summer. There is a good chance, however, that when the military admits they WILL HAVE a new weapon – they already have it. That actually means the US could use the bomb NOW, should the need arise. Many of us would argue that it is past time to bring the “MOP” online. In fact, I worry that we may learn that we should have already used the “MOP.” (Learn more about the “MOP” HERE. and HERE.)

We civilians have grown fat, and lazy, and extremely vulnerable while our military has grown lean... too lean, maybe. Unfortunately, I have come to believe that it will take a mushroom cloud over New York, Boston, or Washington, DC, to wake this nation up!

Suicide is a sorry way for a once great nation to go!

Rome burned as Nero fiddled. So goes the myth of the destruction of ancient Rome. There was more to Nero’s rather extensive “Urban Renewal Project”, of course. Much has been lost in the mists of time, and some has just plain been invented.

But, today, if Nero decided to burn Rome, we’d have TV cameras there as he struck the match and applied the flame to the nearest drapes or, thatched roof, as the case may be.

What am I rambling on about? Well, I’ll tell you. It is just this: While Obama fiddles; American soldiers are being killed in Afghanistan.

The US military commander of Afghanistan has requested 40,000 more troops as fast as he can get them in country to fight the resurgence of the Taliban and whoever else has, and is, joining their ranks.

The Commander-in-Chief says it will be weeks before he will respond with a “Yes” or a “No.” In the meantime, more American lives are being lost and the loss of those lives can be laid at the feet of Obama! The war in Afghanistan is now “Obama’s War!” And so far, he is bungling it, like nearly everything else this inexperienced president has touched.

I’d very much like to see an amendment to the constitution which says that a candidate for President of the United States must show proof of honorable service in the military of the United States.

Let me spell it out for you as plainly as I know how. Unless you have served in the US Military, you have no idea what fighting for your country, (war), is all about. You cannot understand the inner workings of the military. You cannot understand the code of honor, which is the common thread that binds all the military services to one another and to the country.

I do not care how much propaganda those who disagree with me on this throw at you, take it from another old vet, the military is different from anything you have ever experienced in your life and there is zero comparison with anything political or the political world our Commander-in-Chief resides in at the White House.

Now: Here’s what I think is about to happen. Obama dearly wants out of Afghanistan. The delay in answering General Stanley McChrystal is Obama buying time with the blood of American patriots.

The long and the short of it is, Obama is going to pull US troops out of Afghanistan. He doesn’t care about how bad it will make America look around the world. He doesn’t care about that. He has no idea how badly the American character will suffer. He doesn’t care how such an action will damage the US military. He has no understanding of how badly the Vietnam fiasco rocked the US Military for decades. Some say the US military did not fully recover from Vietnam until Gulf War One. Many of the Vietnam vets are STILL not over it! But Obama doesn’t care. Why? Obama is a Narcissist. He cares only for himself. Everyone, and everything, else is here to serve him and his interests.

Now: Do not entertain the erroneous notion that Obama is willing to take the blame for losing a war, specifically the war in Afghanistan. Oh, NO! Obama will not lose the Afghanistan War. The US Military will lose the Afghanistan War. You can count on it. There will be Congressional Hearings and kangaroo courts much like the old “Star Chamber” proceedings where the heads of Generals will roll, but nothing will touch Obama. Obama’s henchmen on the Hill and in the Mainstream Media will see to that. All the while, though, you and I and the thousands upon thousands of soldiers and military veterans will know who the culprit was.

The American Left HATES the US Military. It has a cold, unreasonable, hatred for anything military. I have leftist friends who all but spit anytime I mention the military for any reason. Their hatred goes deep. It is primordial. It seems to come from some place deep inside the pre-caveman depths of their brains. It is pathological. They would be quite happy to see the US Military go down to defeat no matter how many American lives are lost. They hate the US Military that much.

There is no reasoning with them. I have tried. I explained that the US military was the only organization that stood between them and annihilation. I explained that the US military made their freedom possible and without the military they would not be free men but slaves. Nothing made any difference. There is simply no reasoning with them. So, I must conclude that it is something in their internal wiring. It should not be difficult to detect in Obama’s White House.

The men and women who give of themselves to defend this country deserve better. They have earned the respect of the world. It seems to me the American people could insure that the Commander-in-Chief is always a military veteran with a constitutional amendment, which would require that a candidate for President of the US always be a veteran of one of the military services of the United States. It would not insure victory on the battlefield but it would show respect for the military by providing that one of their own is always in command. They deserve that -- and more.

The AP (Associated Press) is reporting that they have seen a secret report, which says that Iran has all the information it needs to build a nuclear bomb and is in the process of building missiles, which will be capable of carrying an atomic warhead.

Reportedly, the document was drafted by senior officials at the International Atomic Energy Agency and, they say, it indicates that the leaders of that agency share Washington's views on the weapon-making capabilities of Iran. Go HERE for more.

I fail to understand how ANYBODY could be the least bit surprised by the contents of any document expressing the view that Iran CAN build a nuclear weapon and the missiles to carry those devastating warheads. We all knew it was coming. Everyone with their heads not in the sand have known for years that if the US, or Israel, did not take out Iran’s nuclear facilities they were going to make a nuclear bomb and strike Israel with it the very first chance they got. Iran has openly threatened to “wipe Israel off the map.” Soon, very soon, they will have the ability to do just that.

Israel is on its own. No longer can they count on assistance and aid from the US. -- not with the socialists in charge of the US government. At its core socialism is anti-God and one cannot overlook the fact that the Christian religion looks upon Israel as “The Holy Land.” That fact alone is enough to cause the socialists in the US government to drawback much as the mythical Hollywood vampire does at the sign of a cross.

Israel MUST destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities post haste. It seems to us that Israel has no other choice. Iran has set a course for self-destruction and refuses to be deterred by any actions, such as sanctions, in her all out drive to manufacture an Atomic Bomb.

Without US help with air borne tankers and such, Israeli pilots, making the sortie(s) on Iran, may be making a suicide run without enough fuel to return to their home bases in Israel. Add to that the fact that those pilots will be flying into a hornet’s nest of some of the latest Russian Surface to Air Missiles (SAMS) Rest assured the Israeli pilots know this. It is a sacrifice they, apparently, are ready to make if it will secure their homeland, Israel… even if only for a few short years.

There have been media reports, in the fairly recent past that Israel has asked the US for special munitions to destroy the underground nuclear facilities of the Iranians. These are munitions that only the US can supply, and… the US has refused those specialty weapons.
Even that setback is not enough to deter a determined Israel. So, don’t count the Israelis out. They have some of the brightest minds on the globe and it wouldn’t surprise me if, by the time the Israeli fighter-bombers launch toward Iran, they were laden with Israeli made “bunker busters” of their own.

We are quickly getting down to the “nitty gritty” in the Iran-Israeli standoff.” The Israeli-Iranian conflict has been brewing for a very long time and, in our opinion, the US should step aside and allow Israel to “take care of business”.

Israel cannot absorb a nuclear attack on their home soil and survive. They know that. Their backs are against the wall and they have no intention of cowering like frightened sheep. For that -- they have the admiration of this scribe.

When thinking of the coming Israeli-Iranian conflict my mind goes back to the story of Belshazzar’s Feast related in the Holy Scriptures of the Christian bible. As at Belshazzar’s Feast, the Handwriting is on the Wall, this time, for the Iranians. The words written by that miraculous finger of that moving hand were: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN". Interpreted they mean: “God has numbered your days. You have been weighed in the scales and found wanting”. The interpretation went on to say that that very night Belshazzar’s kingdom would be taken away and divided among his enemies. And, as the story goes, that same night Belshazzar’s body lay dead upon the cold floor of what had been, just a few hours earlier, his palace.

As we observe the behavior of the Iranian leadership today, we find they are reacting in the same manner as Belshazzar. The warnings are there, for Iran, just as plainly written as the moving finger wrote the warning to Belshazzar. Yet the Iranians, too, are arrogantly ignoring them just as Belshazzar did. Sadly, I have no doubt the leaders of Iran will succumb to the same end as the once great king. For God, Himself, made Belshazzar another promise. He said: ”Thou fool! This night thy soul will be required of thee.” Soon, thereafter, Belshazzar’s soul had departed his lifeless body. He lost his kingdom and his life.

Iran will not be the only loser when the bomb ladened Israeli aircraft lift off with their deadly cargo for Iran. The US will also lose an immense portion of its stature as a leader among the world’s great nations. The Obama Administration will be suspected of siding with the Muslim community over its only real friend in the region, Israel. That suspicion will be shared by the bulk of the Christian community here in America a well. Already, there a growing segment of America’s Christian community who believe that Obama is a “Closest Muslim," himself. If he chooses not to assist Israel in this life or death struggle with another Muslim country, Mr. Obama, will pay the price at the polls in 2012. His name will be added to the growing list of one-term Democrat presidents.

I do not support Homosexuals serving in the US Military, at all.

I most certainly do not support the “Don’t ask. Don’t tell” policy Clinton, and the Dems, saddled the US military with over a decade ago.

If you support the current policy and you have never served in the Military, in any branch, then you are forgiven your ignorance. However, that does not give you the right not to be challenged by those of us who have served in uniform.

The first thing a new enlistee learns, upon arrival at his first military post, is… that he has zero privacy. None! Everything he does is in the open. Usually he is surrounded by others of the same sex in multiples all the time, around the clock. He showers with a crowd. He uses the toilet, without stalls, with a crowd, he eats with a crowd, and he sleeps with a crowd. He lives, breathes and has his being… with a crowd!

In order for the training to be effective the enlistees must be broken of their individuality and re-made into a cohesive unit. One way the Army does it is to give the recruits a common enemy, the drill sergeant! It works! The enlistees will hate his guts, in a few hours, and the first clues of unit cohesion begin to develop.

You hear “Unit Cohesion” tossed about a great deal. Simply put, it means that a unit of men, must all be pulling together to accomplish whatever that unit’s goals happen to be on any given day. They must function as one! If there is one recruit in that unit for which the reminder of the men cannot relate, then unit cohesion is not possible.

Now, allow me to clear up something for those of you who have never served. It is a wonderful thing to spout the words that a soldier fights for his country. That is true… but the actual fact is, each soldier fights for his fellow soldier along side him. This combined effort is combat for one’s country. Why is that important? Simply because… if that soldier is NOT fighting for his fellow soldiers beside him, they are both vulnerable… and so is their unit. So, Unit Cohesion is a must.

In the 1950’s when I reported to “Tank Hill” at the US Army’s Fort Jackson, South Carolina, for Basic Training, I vividly recall that as we were in formation, in the company street, the Platoon Sergeant told us, in no uncertain words, that if we suspected there was a man among us who was a homosexual we where bound to report that man and he would be gone in a matter of hours, sometimes even faster. We were told that if we knew of a homosexual and did not report him WE would be gone, too.

Why were we told that? For two reasons: One was to ensure that any homosexuals among us would indeed be reported and removed, and secondly, it assured each remaining man that the man he was working with, and sleeping next to, and eating with, and fighting with, was exactly who he appeared to be.

If you have never served in the Military you are not going to understand this… but the Military is so far from society, as you have known it, as to be unrecognizable to you. It is that way of necessity. The Military is in the business of killing people and breaking things. It’s what they do. Men are taught to act on command, with out thought, or question. The only order you are allowed to not obey is an unlawful order.

Social experimenting with the military is absolutely wrong! It gets good soldiers killed. It has gotten scores of female soldiers killed in Iraq.

Truman DID order the integration of black and white troops in the US military and it worked! Great! But those Blacks were men… just like the white guys! The same no homosexuals in the military applied to them as it did for the white troops. Some of the best troops I saw while in the military were black men.

The whole point of this is that if we continue to integrate homosexuals into our military, recruiting of straight troops will drop and the military will be in worse shape than it already is, today. Unit cohesion will be a thing of the past. It may have already begun.

I said from the beginning we’d be lucky to finish this war in fifty years. I still believe that. By my calculations we have 42 more years left in Iraq. Yes, American troops are coming home from Iraq. But – American troops will remain in Iraq to “assist” Iraqi troops. When their body bags begin arriving on American soil, will we still deny the war continues in Iraq?

Point is… why make it more difficult by allowing homosexuals to serve openly in the US Military. It can only harm the performance of our troops and no good can come of it. If the Commander in Chief wants to do something constructive, something that will lift our troops morale and give them confidence in their fellow soldiers, then he will make every effort to scuttle the “Don’t Ask, Don’ Tell” policy and go back to the day when homosexuals were not allowed to serve in the US Military, at all.

What is Christian Zionism?

OK, so what IS Christian Zionism, anyway? I was surprised to learn, over the weekend, that I had never heard the term before – or if I had, it had completely flown right by me without mussing even a single hair on my rather thick head!

Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about Christian Zionism:

Christian Zionism is a belief among some Christians that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land, and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, is in accordance with Biblical prophecy. It overlaps with, but is distinct from, the nineteenth century movement for the Restoration of the Jews o the Holy Land, which had both religiously and politically motivated supporters.

Some Christian Zionists believe that the "ingathering" of Jews in Israel is a prerequisite for the Second Coming of Jesus. This belief is primarily, though not exclusively, associated with Christian Dispensationalism. The idea that Christians should actively support a Jewish return to the Land of Israel, along with the parallel idea that the Jews ought to be encouraged to become Christian, as a means fulfilling a Biblical prophecy has been common in Protestant circles since the Reformation. The term Christian Zionism was popularized in the mid-twentieth century. Prior to that time the common term was Restorationism.

Many Christian Zionists believe that the people of Israel remain part of the Chosen People of God, along with the in-grafted (based on Romans 11:17-24, Holy Bible) Gentile Christians. This has the added effect of turning Christian Zionists into supporters of Jewish Zionism.

Now let us turn to an article in June 2009 edition of “The Lutheran” magazine, a publication of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, (ELCA) a denomination, which has my name engraved on its rolls ONLY because it would embarrass my wife to near death if I resigned my membership and ANYONE found out! But, in the interest of full disclosure, allow me to explain that I no longer attend services, and haven’t, since the church, in my humble opinion, was taken over by hardcore leftists and, somehow, lost it’s way in it’s mission to spread the Gospel (the Good News of Jesus) and appears dangerously close to having replaced a scriptural doctrine with a secular doctrine. (This is another of those instances when I sincerely hope I am wrong for I have a deep and abiding love for the Lutheran Church.) For, you see, I believe in “sola scriptura” (from the Latin meaning: “by scripture alone.”) and for me, as a protestant that means that I maintain that the Scripture alone is the authority for the people of God. For my Roman Catholic friends, however, I respect your different interpretation. I reserve the right to disagree, but I do respect your position.

On page 23 under the caption “Key Terms” Christian Zionism is defined this way: “Political action, informed by specifically Christian commitments, to promote or preserve Jewish control over the geographic area now comprising the State of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. Not all Christian Zionists are motivated by end-times speculation.”

MY definition goes something like this: I am a Christian Zionist because one: I am a Christian - and two: because the land in question belongs to Israel traditionally, historically, and in every other way that counts. Add to that the fact that there has never been a land of Palestine or a Palestinian people. (Who was the last Palestinian king? Where is the capital city of Palestine?) Those refugees who lay claim to the name of Palestinians and also lay claim to the land of Israel have bogus claims.

I have never read a single one of the “Left Behind” books. Not interested. In my humble opinion they are based on a flawed premise, therefore they can be dangerous to those who read them without a solid base in real history, not the revisionist stuff passed off by today’s academia as the real thing. Plus, for those with only a passing knowledge of the scriptures that kind of literature can be extremely dangerous.

I just happen to believe that Israel has the only legitimate claim to the land of Israel and I support their claim. By some definitions, as noted above, that makes me a Christian Zionist. I also believe the Jews remain God’s Chosen People as Saint Paul said, (“I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin….” From the eleventh chapter of the book of Romans) and, I believe, as a Christian, I am expected to love them and/or “bless” them. You see, I recognize God's biblical commands for Christians to support the Jewish people. Some biblical scholars tell me that belief puts me, and all like me, in a special group of Christians - and I am hated for it.

As I delved deeper into what Christian Zionists are today, I found that Christian Zionists are "Biblical advocates" for the Jewish people and the state of Israel. Furthermore, they stand in firm, diametrical, opposition to land concessions of any sort which involve the forfeiture of the holy land of Israel as it is a sacred manifestation of the promises of God to the people He calls the "apple of His eye". (Learn more HERE.) That pretty much sums up my own stance on “land concessions.” and the Two State Policy the Obama Administration is attempting to foist onto the people of Israel this very day.

Now, I want to tread softly here. What I am about to say will be difficult for some of you to hear and some of you will never accept it’s validity.

Here’s the way I see it: I cannot support a Two-State Policy (a State of Israel and a State of Palestine) when that policy involves giving away land, which was given to Israel by God (If one believes the scripture.). It is my considered opinion that no man has a right to interfere with such a divine endowment. For any nation, even the United States of America, to force Israel to go against the dictates of God, can only bring destruction upon that nation. And so, with those few words I shall forever be known as a “Christian Zionist.”

So, why, then, am I writing what some will see as a “religious” piece here on what is normally a political site? Because this is one of those instances in which religion and politics manage to crash, smack-dab, into each other. For whether one wishes to believe it, or not, the vast majority of Americans, both left and right, are people of religion. From the earliest explorers of this land, who came ashore bearing a sword (politics) and a cross (religion) right up to the modern era, religion and politics have never been completely divorced from each other. Now, especially now, that we are neck deep in the birthplace of the world’s three major religions it would be a fool’s folly to think, for one minute, that we can navigate the political minefield before us without major clashes over religion and politics. It is an equal folly to believe the Obama Administration can tiptoe through that minefield with impunity. It is not going to happen.

So, as one of those hated “Christian Zionists,” I offer this warning: Strap in! We are in for a very bumpy ride ahead in our dealings with Israel and the so-called Palestinians, and Israel and the Iranians. Either we, the US, get out of the way and allow Israel to be Israel, and deal with those problems as she sees fit, or we can interfere and get hammered. Judging from the performance of the Obama Administration to date, it is not difficult to predict which course his government will take. It is the wrong course and it will cost the US dearly, and in the end, America will still be fighting wars in the Middle East many decades from now.

The Obama Administration certainly seems content to allow Iran to build an “A” bomb even with the knowledge of what Iran will do with that bomb and what the proxies of Iran will do with the “other” bombs Iran will build and surely divvy out to their lackeys in the various Islamofacist farm teams around the world, several of which are active here in this hemisphere and even in this country.

It is becoming even clearer as each day goes by that the Obama administration is not going to do a single thing to stop Iran from acquiring the bomb. And after the head of the CIA, Leon Panetta, flew (secretly) to Israel recently to read the riot act to Israel in an attempt to scare Israel into stopping their planned raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, it is apparent that Obama is desperate to stop Israel. I have to wonder if Mr. Obama understands just how difficult it is to frighten a people who lost six million of their own to another terrorist state in the twentieth century. It is damn near impossible - and the sooner Obama understands that, the better off his relationship with Israel will be. For the moment, US/Israeli relations have tanked.

One has to wonder just how those American Jews who supported Obama, in his run for the presidency, feel now as they find themselves in the same situation their recent ancestors found themselves with FDR in the White House and their relatives in Europe being gassed to death by the Nazis while the White House chose to look the other way.

We are rapidly approaching the day when another six million Jews will be killed if SOMEBODY doesn’t do SOMETHING to stop Iran. From the Obama White House we can expect nothing but Jimmy Carter diplomacy, which was to “speak softly and do nothing.”

So here is a news flash for Mr. Obama and the White House: Get ready for all hell to break loose in the Middle East. It is coming as surely as night follows day - and very soon.

After the chief spook, Panetta, flew in with his bullying tactic, Israel, understands, even better now, that they stand alone. What Obama and his bully boys do not seem to grasp is that once that visit by Panetta was ended, Israel was free from any constraints upon them by the US to go ahead and make their much planned and rehearsed raid as soon as possible, the sooner the better.

Washington does understand that once the Middle East goes up in flames all the things they worry about, primarily the free flow of oil from the Gulf region to the rest of the world, will certainly be curtailed, if not stopped entirely. Oil tankers attempting to navigate the Straits of Hormuz will most likely be hit by Iranian missiles, set ablaze, and sunk in the straits, effectively closing them to all oil shipments out of that region. THAT is the point at which the US military will be involved and we will then have a three front war in the Middle East. Obama IS smart enough to know that once the missiles begin to rain down on American sailors, on American ships, the American people will demand that the US military strike back at Iran with everything we have.

Look, a head-on military conflict between Iran and the US is unavoidable unless Obama is willing to sacrifice six million more Jews AND the state of Israel. It certainly looks, today, as if Mr. Obama is ready to do that very thing.

After all the apologies Obama made in his “victory tour” of Europe, following his election, I have to ask - is there no end to the shame his government is willing to bring upon the people of the United States?

Among the latest news out of Mexico was the discovery of four U.S. citizens found in a van, strangled, beaten and stabbed in the border city of Tijuana. The victims, ages 19 to 21, were two men and two women from San Diego and Chula Vista areas.

In 2008, 6,292 Mexicans were killed in the drug wars between the drug cartels. In the first eight weeks of 2009, there were already a thousand casualties, some of them beheaded. By way of comparison, in six years of war in Iraq, this exceeds U.S. losses by more than three thousand.

In mid-March, however, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, third in the line of succession to lead the nation, told a crowd of legal and illegal Hispanics that enforcement of federal or even local laws regarding immigration is “un-American.” She called the illegal aliens in the audience, “very, very patriotic.”

No, Madame Speaker, the patriotic, indeed the constitutionally responsible thing to do is to enforce the laws of the nation. You even took an oath of office to do so.

It is an open secret in Washington, D.C., that Obama and his fellow Democrat travelers in Congress want to push through an amnesty in order to increase the number of voters likely to support Democrats in coming elections. Congress has a short memory and no doubt has conveniently forgotten the firestorm of protest that erupted when the Bush administration attempted the same thing.

President Obama’s proposed budget cancels plans to extend the border fence along the U.S.-Mexican border beyond the 670 miles already completed or planned. That leaves 1,277 miles open. In addition, the budget would end payments to states and communities to cover the cost of jailing illegal immigrants.

Sooner or later, some innocent American bystanders in downtown Tucson or any other American city are going to get caught in a hail of bullets as Mexican narco gangs exchange fire in a territorial dispute. Then Americans will demand action. You may recall that was the feeling right after 9/11 in 2001.

When I say “territorial dispute” I am referring to the network of American cities in which these gangs are currently operating. In April 2008, the Justice Department reported that Mexican drug cartels represent “the largest threat to both citizens and law enforcement agencies in this country and now have gang members in nearly 200 U.S. cities.”

Obama’s response to this was a promise to reduce gun sales that end up across the border and I believe him because we are already witnessing efforts to take away everyone’s guns. While calling for tougher border security, Obama so far is doing nothing beyond the management of a U.S.-Mexico agreement forged during the Bush administration.

Meanwhile, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, is saying stupid things to blame America for the chaos of Mexico, claiming that American “is at least as responsible as Mexico for the violent drug wars…” No, we are not responsible for Mexico’s endemic corruption and its failure to crack down on the drug cartels many years ago.

Forgive me if I have little confidence in any real action being taken by Obama’s new director of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. When she was Governor of Arizona, she called out the National Guard to back up the Border Patrol, but essentially had them man desks. It was a serious waste of man power by all accounts. Currently she is calling for more motion sensors and aerial surveillance to spot those entering the nation illegally. That’s just a bad joke.

If the U.S. wants to avoid an all-out border war with the narco cartels, it needs to put up one very high fence along the 1,947 miles we share.

I have even less confidence in the Mexican government to deal with the narco gangs. It isn’t like they’re not trying. Meeting with George Bush in 2007, the president of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, asked for help to fight the gangs and to his credit, he has been making a serious effort, deploying thousands of police and military, but at a terrific cost to their lives. It is, in the very truest sense of the word, a war.

Mexico’s drug war is closing in on becoming Obama’s “Iraq”; a war not so much of choice as one that is integral to our national security.

This is not an exaggeration. In December, Four-Star general (ret.) Barry McCaffrey and former national drug czar said that Mexico is on the verge of becoming a narco-state. An Adjunct Professor of International Affairs at West Point, McCaffrey released a report that predicted Mexico will be in control of the narco gangs within a decade. “Chronic drug consumption in Mexico has doubled since 2002 as has cocaine use, while U.S. cocaine consumption has dropped by 70% in the past two decades. An estimated 5% of the Mexican population now consumes illegal drugs.”

Fully 90% of all U.S. cocaine use transits through Mexico and it is also a dominant source of methamphetamine production for the U.S. market.

All this is occurring while Speaker Pelosi is encouraging illegal immigration and denouncing enforcement of our laws to prevent it.

All this is occurring as the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has released a report that border gangs were becoming increasingly ruthless, targeting rivals, along with federal, state and local police. Citing a dramatic rise in border violence over the past three years, it called it “an unprecedented surge.”

“Good fences make good neighbors” says the famous Robert Frost poem, Mending Wall, but a vastly increased border patrol and other steps are needed now to ensure the safety of Americans everywhere within the nation. It must be coupled with a renewed and vigorous effort to thwart the influx and to encourage as many of the estimated twelve million illegals living among us to return home.

The story continues to bubble just below the surface of the consciousness of the American electorate primarily because the Mainstream Media is so deep in the tank for Obama that they refuse to cover it. But it is there, nevertheless, and eventually it is going to break through and chances are very good that it will create chaos when it does.

The question of whether or not Obama is legally qualified to even be President of the US has never been answered. Many lawsuits have been filed in an attempt to answer the question. Many have been dismissed, for one reason or the other, but many are still in the queue waiting for a ruling and eventually that ruling will come.

The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."

The question that really troubles many of us is why the President doesn’t just present the evidence that he is a natural born American citizen and put it all to rest? It seems so simple. Yet, reports have it that the President has legal teams, all over the country, fighting all attempts by citizens to get to the bottom of what could turn out to be a constitutional crisis for the country. Some reports say that huge sums of money have been spent, already, just to stop the release of that birth certificate from the state of Hawaii. Why not release that certificate and put this whole thing to rest?

Obama’s reluctance to produce proof of his American citizenship certainly leads one to question a lot of things about the President. For instance: What is his real name? Was his father an African, an Arab, or a Muslim? (Find more on this

See, the problem here, over and above the obvious, is… this may happen again. We need to have laws that clearly describe what it means to be a natural born citizen of the US and laws that clearly delineate the steps one MUST go through in order to prove one’s eligibility to be President of the US.

Unknown to a great many Americans is the fact there is just such a movement in Congress that would require presidential candidates to verify their eligibility to hold the highest elected office in the United States --- not to mention the office of Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the US. Congressman Bill Posey, a Republican of Florida, filed the bill --- HR 1503 --- an amendment to the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971. H.R. 1503 would "require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of president to include with the committee's statement of organization a copy of the candidate's birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution." Last week, Congressman Bob Goodlatte, a Republican of Virginia, signed onto the bill. You can read the story on this HERE. The bill was referred to the US House of Representatives’ “Committee on House Administration,” where it remains. I would urge my congressman to get behind this bill and get it passed.

As we mentioned above there are numerous lawsuits still pending on this issue. At least one of those suits asked the question of whether or not the President was, indeed, born in the state of Hawaii, as he insists, or rather some place outside the United States. If it turns out he was born outside the US, Obama's American mother, would have been too young (at the time of his birth) to confer American citizenship on her son under the law at the time. (Confusing enough for you?) Still other lawsuits are looking at the possibility of conferring citizenship through Obama’s father, a Kenyan, and a British subject. That would confer dual citizenship on Obama, and, constitutional experts say the constitution does not allow anyone holding dual citizenship to be eligible to stand as a candidate for President of the United States.

There is no need for this confusion. Obama can clear the air, once and for all, by producing proof of HIS birth within the United States, in particular, the state of Hawaii. The Congress can stop this from ever happening again by passing HR 1503 and tacking it onto the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 as an amendment.

Do I think it will happen? No, I do not. Why? That’s simple enough to answer. It won’t happen because those same groups of people who form the infamous “Shadow Government” do not want it to happen.

Like many Americans, I thought the “Shadow Government” was only a creation of the conspiracy nuts. But, such stunts as this have certainly pushed me much closer to believing in the existence of a group of powerful, wealthy, families who pull the strings of governments all over the globe for their mutual benefit.
