Repealing ObamaCare

When Obama signed Obamacare into law he promised Americans the bill would only cost us 940 billion dollars over ten years.   We scoffed at those numbers then and continued to warn that when the real figures were in we would learn the extent of the boondoggle Obama and his socialist medicine scam would cost American taxpayer.  We told you then it would be far more than the projections we were assured where accurate.

Well, Tuesday March 13th, 2012, the Congressional Budget Office released their new estimate for Obamacare over ten years.  It is almost double the cost Obama gave us way back when he signed the bill into law.

The CBO says Obamacare will cost us 1.76 TRILLION dollars and not the 940 BILLION dollars Obama promised over a decade (2013 through 2022).  When the even more accurate estimate from the CBO is released next year will have the true estimate of the cost of Obamacare over that decade.  As of today, it is expected to be well over 2 TRILLION DOLLARS.

There is no way American taxpayers can afford it.  The drag on our economy alone will be devastating.

The Supreme Court of the US is set to begin deliberations on that portion of Obamacare which forces Americans to purchase healthcare insurance later this month.  They must decide if that portion of the law is constitutional.  Many expect the court to strike down that requirement as unconstitutional.  I, on the other hand, do not.

The only way America will get relief from this government over-reach is to repeal Obamacare.  To do that we will need to control both houses of the Congress and the office of the Presidency. 

With only seven and a half months left until Election Day, I am not seeing nor hearing the fervor from the American electorate, nor the candidates for office to repeal Obamacare.

I am not surprised.  When our government really wants to do something they know will be unpopular with the voters, they simple use the old "frog in the pot of hot water" approach.  It is tried and true.  We call it “Incrementalism.”  A little bit at a time may be a better explanation of the strategy.  Obamacare is set up to suck in the less observant, the less knowledgeable, and the Americans who are wards of the state (and actually believe government largess is FREE.)  To them, Obamacare is another "free cheese program.  Heck, go get in line.  The cheese is FREE!

Obamacare was "front-loaded" with a smattering of  "goodies" such as the ability to keep your child on your insurance until be is old enough to draw his social security.  Well, that is a bit of an exaggeration.  The child can on it stay on the parents insurance until the age of 26. 

Heck, by the age of 26, I had been in the military, had been married twice, had a career, and a family of my own, my own problems as a career/family man ... and my own insurance!

Different times, you say?  Yes, they were.  Oh, HOW different they were.

Back to the subject at hand.  

I have concluded that if the Supreme Court does not overturn that portion of Obamacare they will soon be deliberating, America is going to be stuck with this law from hell.

Why do I feel this way?  Because I have a gnawing feeling that even the republican candidates are not sincere about repealing Obamacare. 

Look.  Governing is all about power.  Obamacare gives the government control over 1/6th of the US economy.  THAT is a LOT of power and politicians tend to get drunk on power.   Once in Washington they become addicted.  We've seen it a thousand times.   Experience tells me we have no reason to believe the current crop of candidates, whether republicans or not, will do a single thing to actually repeal Obamacare once they get the election past them. 


  Yes, it IS frightening.  There is absolutely NOTHING on planet earth that offers a better example of eternal life than a law passed by the US Congress. 

 China will have to finance our adventure into socialized medicine.  I shutter to think what will happen when China demands payment in full of all the money the USA already owes them.  Maybe China will accept California, Oregon, and Washington state as a partial payment and allow us more time to sell off our territories around the globe to scrape up a few more dollars.  No, it is NOT FUNNY.  Its not much of an exaggeration, either.  The USA is in hock to China and, at some point, they're going to call in that debt.

The reality of the cost of Obamacare to American taxpayers is only one part of the gigantic problem.  Another is the damage it will do to healthcare in America.

Sally Pipes, in an article at realclearpolitics.com back in August of 2010 entitled: “Why ObamaCare Must Be Repealed,” said the following: “Today, Canadians familiar with America's new healthcare law are recognizing remarkable similarities between our healthcare future and their healthcare past. Obamacare adheres closely to the Canadian rubric for how to nationalize a formerly private healthcare system."

In that 2010 article ms. Pipes said:  "Republicans can stop this march back to the future if they win control of the House and Senate this fall, take the presidency in 2012, and commit to repealing Obamacare quickly and completely. Anything less will consign the United States to repeat Canada's 50-year journey toward socialized medicine.” (SOURCE)

Ms. Pipes went on to say: “If Republicans take control of Congress this fall and the presidency in 2012, they'll be well-positioned to repeal Obamacare before the most egregious government controls kick in. If they don't, American health care in 2050 will bear a striking resemblance to Canadian health care in 1950. Ms. Pipes' article is still posted -- and we recommend you read it at:(SOURCE)

In the same article, Ms. Pipes said this:  "To pay for all this new coverage, Obamacare introduces a number of new taxes on individuals and businesses. Once the Treasury has its hands on all that new revenue, it's unlikely that it will ever be able to let go. Those taxes will be here to stay."

I am concerned that the light we see at the end of the Obamacare tunnel is the headlight of an oncoming train.  America allowed Obama and his socialist minions to paint us into a corner.  

No matter what the Supreme Court rules on Obamacare, I will not feel safe from its nation killing fangs until "Repealed" is stamped across its cover page.

In an editorial at the Washington Examiner titled: “How new GOP Congress can repeal, replace Obamacare” the writer says the following: “If voters return Republicans to majorities in one or both Houses of Congress, their Job One will be to start the process of repealing Obamacare and replacing it with realistic health care reforms that make universal access possible at a reasonable cost without putting federal bureaucrats in charge of U.S. medicine. President Obama will surely veto even a simple repeal measure, but Republicans still should put an end to Obamacare's most damaging and least popular provisions by defunding them. The process will also force Obamacrats in Congress to cast multiple votes they would probably prefer to avoid, thus setting the stage for a titanic 2012 presidential election contest.”

The writer of this editorial is “spot-on!” We urge you to click on the link above and go over to the Washington Examiner’s site and read the entire article.

The writer of the aforementioned editorial goes on to recommend several steps a GOP controlled Congress OUGHT to take to repeal ObamaCare or, at the very least, defund it. It is an extremely well thought out plan to restore so many of the freedoms the ObamaCare legislation will simply wipeout upon its full implementation.

We conservatives have been harping for nearly two years now that we want to “take our country back” and we want to “restore America” – well, The Washington Examiner editor lays out the first steps on the path to doing exactly that.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R.-S.C.) has pledged to work for repeal of ObamaCare and even put out a news release after House passage of the Senate bill demanding immediate repeal. “This bill is unconstitutional and it cannot be fixed. It must be repealed,” he said.

In September, Congressman John Boehner, on CBS’s “Face the Nation” said: “What I want to do is repeal the Obamacare and replace it with common sense reforms that will bring down the cost of health insurance and protect American jobs …” Boehner went on to say: “You need to understand that in my opinion Obamacare will ruin the best health care system in the world and it will bankrupt our country … ”

Months ago we warned, in this column, that one thing the democrats could be counted on to do was … overreach. They ALWAYS do it! And they did not disappoint! Their lust for power is awesome and uncontrolable once they have the reins in thir grasp. We can hope that Americans have seen enough since 2006 to convince them that the liberal-socialists of the Democratic Party have one thing as their goal-- that is to transform America into another socialist dung heap, and gather unto themselves as much raw power, as they possibly can, before the whole thing collapses.

Two things we must do, immediately, take back our government at the polls on November 2nd and repeal ObamaCare as the very first act of a GOP controlled Congress. It can be done and IT MUST BE DONE!

Will Republicans take the pledge? I mean the Pledge to repeal ObamaCare.

The Independent Women’s Voice is promoting the pledge. They are asking members of Congress and candidates for Congress to sign the pledge.

So, who, or what, is the Independent Women’s Voice? According to their website: “The Independent Women’s Voice is a 501(c)(4) nonpartisan, nonprofit organization for mainstream women, men and families. IWV is the sister organization of the Independent Women’s Forum.

Like IWF, IWV is dedicated to promoting limited government, free markets, and personal responsibility. IWV believes that too often the media assumes that all women are represented by liberal organizations that push to expand government. IWV seeks to ensure that our mainstream voices are heard in the media and before state and national policymakers, in order to educate the public about how our conservative principles benefit women, men, and families, and are critical to the future of our country.” (SOURCE)

Let’s take a look at the pledge to repeal ObamaCare candidates are being asked to sign. Here is the text:

“I pledge to vote for all bills which seek to REPEAL the health care bill, HR 3590, signed into law on March 23, 2010.*

“To that end, I do now and will in the next Congress endorse and vote for all measures, including discharge petitions, leading to its defunding, deauthorization, and repeal.

“I shall do so whether those measures are taken for the whole of the bill or those component parts that impose mandates, restrict patient and doctor choice and access, violate individual freedom and privacy, reduce healthy competition, increase costs, or raise taxes

“*The healthcare bill is defined as consisting of: 1) The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590), signed into law on March 23, 2010; and 2) The Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act (H.R. 4872), signed into law on March 30, 2010.” (SOURCE)

It will, indeed, be interesting to learn who signs and who does NOT sign the pledge to repeal ObamaCare.

Those of us who are set on riding this nation of ObamaCare understand that as long as Obama is President, he will veto any bill repealing ObamaCare. We KNOW that. But, we also understand we have to begin chipping away at it, as soon as we can, to cripple it and hopefully “starve” the despicable law by seeing that funds for its implementation are cut off, bottled-up, or in some way denied to those who will put the law into practice. Those efforts must begin immediately.

The repeal of ObamaCare is the primary goal. That should never be forgotten. It will take time. It will take dedication on the part of citizens and legislators alike. And it will take work.

The first step is to insure that we vote for candidates for Congress who are dedicated to repealing ObamaCare. The pledge from the Independent Women’s Voice is important in defining who those candidates are, exactly.

In an article at The New American entitled: “Repealing ObamaCare” William F. Jasper describes ObamaCare this way: “This is one of the most far-reaching legislative efforts ever passed by Congress. It is far more than “mere” nationalized, socialized medicine. It will, if allowed to stand, inaugurate social engineering by “experts” on a scale heretofore unimagined … except in the dreams of apostles of the total state. Did the American people demand healthcare “reform” that mandates federally imposed “lifestyle behavior modification” with regard to “proper nutrition,” “appropriate exercise,” “mental health,” and “behavioral health”? Did we envision the invasion of our homes and family privacy to implement “domestic violence screenings,” “childhood home visitation,” and “improvements in parenting skills”? How will ObamaCare’s provisions on abortion, sex education, vaccinations, rationing, and database monitoring play out — if we fail to repeal it?

Analysts for pro-life organizations have charged that the abortion provisions of

ObamaCare represent the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade. Other sections of the legislation are sure to prove equally far-reaching.” (SOURCE)

If America is to remain free it is imperative that we repeal ObamaCare! It is as simple as that. But just because it is simple doesn’t mean it is easy. The forces in America, and in America’s current government, striving for a totalitarian state in America are dug-in and ready to repel any and all attempts to rid this country of the plague known as ObamaCare.

The current lawsuits in the courts will take years to reach a conclusion, one way, or the other. Those states nullifying the law will, almost certainly, be challenged in the courts by the federal government resulting in years of legal wrangling costing the state taxpayers whopping amounts from their state treasuries -- with no assurance they will win. Not to mention the risk they run of having federal funds for ongoing projects in their states cut off.

ObamaCare must be repealed by the US Congress either with the President’s signature or by overriding his veto.

In the next few weeks pay close attention to reports of who signs the Pledge to repeal ObamaCare -- and who does not. Then you will know how to vote in November.

It is “not getting much press,” as they say, but the repeal of ObamaCare is very real in the US House of Representatives. “More than three-quarters of the needed members of the U.S. House of Representatives have signed onto a measure to have a new vote on Obamacare that essentially would allow the chamber to withdraw its approval of the law and begin the process of banishing it from American shores.” (From World Net Daily. Well, that’s interesting, what? Hadn’t heard about it – had you?

Are you surprised?

You shouldn’t be. With the mainstream media in the tank for Obama, they seem ready to sweep under the rug, look the other way, or completely ignore, in this case, one of the biggest stories leading up to the Democratic Party massacre in the Mid-Term Election just a few weeks away.

Ok, so what’s going on with the efforts to repeal ObamaCare, anyway?

According to WND, the discharge petition has already obtained 162 signatures of the 218 it will need. Under the provisions of the discharge procedures in the House, the signatures of 218 members, a majority, of the 435-member chamber is needed before it can move forward. As the 218 signatures IS a majority of the House membership, it is near certain to be approved once it reaches the point of advancement. With a majority signing onto the discharge petition, Speaker Pelosi cannot stop it.

You may remember that all of the Republicans and 34 Democrats opposed Obamacare when it was passed on a narrow 219-212 vote earlier this year. That should mean that at least 212 members of the House should be ready to repeal ObamaCare since they were against it, and voted against it, just a few months ago. If it turns out that way, those pushing the discharge petition will only need a handful (roughly a half dozen) of democrats for the petition to advance.

Now, all of this activity on the repeal of ObamaCare has been going on, successfully, in the face of massive opposition from Speaker Pelosi and the hardcore Obamacrats in the U. S. House.

You may remember that Pelosi said they’d have to pass ObamaCare before we could find out what was in it, right? Well, they passed it, and we read it, and the majority of the electorate is P.O.ed that the US Congress would foist such a statist, socialist, piece of bovine scatology on the American citizens. As a result, the Democrats in the current “Kamikaze Kongress” are facing the worst defeat at the polls in the modern history of the United States.

This November, a slew of Democrats are going to have to answer to their constituents for having voted for socialized medicine and saddling those same voters with massive tax increases, and even more government intrusion in their lives.

If there are any two things Americans hate, it is taxes and government meddling in their private lives.

Here’s the wording on the petition: "Pursuant to clause 2 of rule XV, I, Steve King of Iowa, move to discharge the Committees on Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, Education and Labor, the Judiciary, Natural Resources, Rules, House Administration and Appropriations from the consideration of the bill (H.R. 4972) to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which was referred to said committees on March 25, 2010, in support of which motion the undersigned Members of the House of Representatives affix their signatures."

So, the effort to repeal ObamaCare is underway and your help is needed. If you want to see this law, which was dragged from the sewer of socialism, repealed -- and a spike driven through its heart so that it can never be revived -- then we suggest you contact your congressperson right away and tell them you want them to sign on to the discharge petition TODAY! With your help it is not impossible to overturn ObamaCare during THIS SESSION of Congress!

Congressman John Boehner, Republican of Ohio, is recently reported to have said: "While rushing their massive government takeover of health care through Congress, President Obama and congressional Democrats promised it would create jobs, lower costs, reduce the deficit, allow Americans to keep their health care, protect seniors' coverage, prohibit taxpayer-funded abortion and, of course, gain the support of the American people…” Boehner continued: "It isn't just that none of these promises or predictions have turned out to be true. In every instance, Obamacare has made matters worse."

Boehner went on to say: "The American people remain squarely opposed to this government takeover of health care that has already failed to live up to specific promises made by President Obama and Washington Democrats.

"Republicans are listening to the American people, and fighting to repeal Obamacare so we can replace it with common-sense reforms focused on lowering costs and protecting jobs…"

There is much to be done to ensure the repeal of ObamaCare and the sooner we begin -- the sooner we will be rid of this abomination from the depths of hell.

Surely, you didn’t believe President Obama when he declared there would be drilling for oil off the east of America, did you? Nah! Say it ain’t so!

Look, the truth is – many Americans alive today will never receive the benefit from a single drop of oil pumped from beneath the seafloor off the coast of the Eastern US, including the waters of my beloved Carolina coast.

Always, always, read the fine print. When you do you will learn a simple truth. There will be years and years of studies and hearings and court cases to supposedly determine the feasibility of drilling in these just opened areas. Should those multiple studies, somehow, find it IS feasible, then the environmentalists will step in and begin the years of challenges in the courts. As I said, many of us will not live long enough to see one drop of oil from those “fantasy wells” some 100 miles, or so, off our coast.

The same goes for the promised Nuclear power plants, as well. It simply ain’t gonna happen.

So what is this all about? It is all about “Cap and Trade.” Unlike some folks believe, Obama has not given up, nor has he forgotten his beloved Cap and Trade Bill, which he intends to ram down the throats of Americans -- much as he did ObamaCare. The promises of drilling for oil off the east coast and the new nuclear power plants is nothing more than lubricant for the “shafting” Americans are, once more, about to receive from the Obama Regime and his cohort of socialists and Marxists in the White House and the Congress.

Face it, dear reader, Obama is ruling much as a dictator. A benign dictator? No. So far as this scribe is concerned, there is no such thing.

The limp-wristed liberals will declare Obama’s dictatorial actions are “tough love.” They will declare “it is all for our own good.” That is pure bovine scatology! Just keep THAT in mind when you are pumping 6 to 8 dollars a gallon gasoline into your car’s gas tank in a few months.

Americans don’/t much care for dictators – benign or otherwise. Our American ancestors fought a revolution to free themselves from a dictator, a tyrant, a king, a man who held their very lives in his hand. Americans freed themselves, wrote a constitution, and created a government called a constitutional republic in which the government could govern only with “the consent of the governed.” From the 18th to the 21st century Americans fought, bled, and died to ensure the preservation of this republic. Then in 2006 and 2008, we gave it away – at the ballot box, no less!

Americans made a grave error. In the space of 5 years America’s current government has taken America from a constitutional republic to a strong, socialist, central government.

It is time to get real. It is time to focus on the things that matter in America -- and to Americans. If America is to survive ObamaCare must be repealed. Obama’s Cap and Trade Bill must be defeated, or repealed, and we Americans must retake our government, at the ballot box, and secure it from such threats as socialism, Marxism, communism and, yes, progressivism.

You have heard it said -- and read it as well, that the coming election in November, just 7 months from now, will be the most important election in the history of America. It is not an overstatement. It CANNOT BE OVERSTATED! Either America returns to the constitution’s way of government and preserves its freedom, or we will continue deeper and deeper, straight into the bowels of a socialist, and finally, a communist hellhole.

Remember in November – and vote for freedom.

Many Conservatives are worried that they won’t be able to maintain the high level of outrage at the Obama Regime and the democrats/socialists until the election in November. That concern is not without some merit.

Politicians tend to exploit the short memories of their constituents. The American electorate has the shortest collective memory of any people on the planet. The democrats are counting on it to save their behinds in November.

Meantime, they plan to hand out a few goodies by way of ObamaCare between now and November 2nd, as well. Yes, ObamaCare WAS deliberately “front-loaded” with a number of the more popular portions of the new law to, shall we say, pacify the masses. And yes, they ARE treating us as though we are children. Sadly, they are not very far off the mark. And that is what is so worrisome.

Already, the dems are shamelessly buying votes with their mortgage bailouts for homeowners unable to make their house payments. There will be many such acts of Obama largesse between now and November.

These should be reminders to Americans that the democrats have just reached into our pockets and stripped as much money from us as they could find -- for the moment.

Just a few days ago, a number of major corporations announced the millions, and even billions, of dollars ObamaCare will cost them possibly leading them to drop retiree’s insurance and causing major lay-offs of employees as the corporations attempt to off-set the losses caused them by ObamaCare.

With the predictability of a Stalinist regime, the democrats have summoned the heads of a number of the corporations to Washington to prove their claimed losses before committees made up, primarily, of Obama lap-dogs whose job it is to cover Obama’s behind. (I wonder if they have any idea just how ridiculous they appear to their fellow Americans out here in the hinterlands?)

Then—there is the shortage of doctors and other healthcare professionals. There are reports that as much as 40-some-odd percent of American doctors practicing today intend to quit, or retire, and walk away, as a result of ObamaCare. They simply do not want to become “government apparatchiks.” I mean – think about it. Why would anyone want to spend 8 to 12 years, or more, in school to earn a degree just to work for a salary from the government, rather than setting up their own business, hanging out a shingle, and practicing medicine as God intended? They don’t want to take orders from the government about whom they will treat, how they will treat them, and when they will treat them, and with what equipment they will treat them.

When nearly half of this nations doctors decide to just walk away, that has got to put a crimp in things -- especially when you consider that we already have a doctor shortage in America. A BIG one!

So, ask yourself – where will all the doctors come from to treat the current patient load -- plus the 32 million more who will be dumped into the system in 2014? Will the government import doctors from overseas? They’ll have too! Then you have to ask: How will the patients of those imported doctors know the doctors assigned to them have been trained to the high standards Americans have always demanded of their medical professionals? The answer, of course, is: we won’t!

There is no question the healthcare system in America will be overloaded. The high quality of healthcare will most certainly decline. And there will be rationing of healthcare…quality healthcare, at the very least. I know you don’t want to hear that, you don’t want to believe that, but healthcare rationing IS coming to America. Under ObamaCare, there is no way to avoid it.

Look, common sense dictates the use of healthcare rationing. How else will so few doctors provide healthcare for so many? It cannot be done without rationing of healthcare. And yet, the Obama Regime and his cohorts in the Congress have lied to the American people -- yet again!

As the evidence of the Obama Regime’s lies and the congressional lies become ever more obvious to the American electorate, the level of outrage at the progressives, socialists, Marxists, Maoists, Stalinists, and just plain communists in America’s government today will only grow hotter. Remembering in November will not be a problem.

Will Obama Suspend the Mid Term Election?

More and more politics-watchers are coming around to the conclusion that the scheduled Mid-Term Election in November of 2010 will be a political bloodbath for the Democratic Party. It is beginning to appear as if the democrats may, indeed, lose control of BOTH houses of the Congress. As a conservative I can only hope and pray they do.

But – the democrats lust for power is so great and their zeal for socialism so intense, that I cannot see them allowing their hold on power to be placed in jeopardy by, of all things, an election where the voice of the people is actually heard.

So, the question must be asked: Will Obama and the socialist/democrats in our government suspend, postpone, or “call-off” the Mid Term Election scheduled for this coming November?

First we must remember that Obama promised during the presidential campaign to bring “Fundamental Change” to the United States. I do not believe a person alive in America today could doubt his sincerity when he said that. Plus, the evidence of that fundamental change is right before our eyes, and in our wallets. In less than eighteen months the Obama Regime has managed to take America from a constitutional republic to a socialist republic. That accomplishment alone should give you reason enough to suspect that when their power is threatened they will use the full force of the Central Government to ruthlessly crush any and all who they perceive as a threat. At this moment in history, a threat is anyone, any American, who does not agree with them.

What the Obama Regime needs is a national crisis of some kind, a national emergency, in order to suspend the election in November. There is much talk about the Obama Regime declaring martial law as the result of a national emergency. That would take care of the election.

Next question: Who decides what a national emergency is? You’ve got it -- the Obama Regime!

Ok. So now I am worried about a natural disaster such as a major hurricane striking the Eastern Seaboard this summer or this fall. As all of us who live in Hurricane Alley will attest, we know from experience that we are due a major strike.

All right, already! I KNOW this all sounds paranoid as the dickens! But understand this: A little paranoia in the face of danger can save your butt! Lord knows -- we are starring danger in the face every day the Obama Regime enjoys in power.

Will there actually be a Mid Term Election this year? I honesty wish I could answer affirmatively, but I fear the raw power on which the democrats are drunk may decide that for us. Understand this: there is nothing as dangerous to freedom in the US as a Progressive (Socialist) Democratic Party inebriated on raw power.

I can say this: The American people are a patient people. We will put up with a lot of nonsense from our government – for a while. But we draw the line when that government ignores the constitution, as the Obama Regime and the Democrats in the Congress have done. There is a seething rage in America today. It has cut to the quick many a patriotic American’s soul. There is a tidal wave of unrequited anger, roiled up and posed, ready to fling itself at a government it sees as a threat to America’s freedom and liberty. Woe be unto him who is caught in the deluge.

Look, some of us have a knack, a talent, a curse, call it what you will, of sensing huge changes around us well before they actually occur.

During the past few months I have sensed a change in the American atmosphere. Where there was anger, there is now rage. Believe me, there is a HUGE difference between anger and rage. Both are great motivators. but motivation by anger can be considered and well thought out. On the other hand, motivation by rage (or outrage) is often not well considered and thought out. It is more akin to lashing out, and is, therefore, to be avoided when it is possible.

But, my senses tell me it is too late to avoid the “lashing out” Americans are about to unleash.

Why do I even bring this up? I bring this up because -- at this very moment that tidal wave of anger and outrage is damed up, increasing in power and intensity, waiting, just waiting, for an incident that will knock the chocks from the dam wall holding back the cascade. Postponing, or suspending, the Mid-Term Election, currently scheduled for this coming November, would be the spark that ignites a firestorm that will consume all in its path.

But those in our nations legislature, intoxicated on their acquisition of more and more raw power, haven’t seemed to notice the shadow of liberty loving Americans looming over them as they celebrate.

Elections are a sort of safety valve in America. Without a safety valve to release unwanted pressure a boiler would soon explode. This coming Mid Term Election, in November, is one of the most important safety valves ever to exist. Shut it, remove it, or disable it, and believe me, the boiler will explode with unimaginable force.

If America was one huge computer, we could simply “reboot.” Of course we cannot do that – but many are saying we CAN “reset.” That is the aim of Americans in the coming Mid Term Election.

The federal government MUST be brought back under the control of the citizens and limited to only that power, and those particular powers, granted by the US Constitution. If Americans can accomplish that -- then most everything else can readily be taken care of -- and a return to constitutional republicanism in America restored.

I don’t even want to think about what will happen if we are unsuccessful in saving and restoring America at the ballot box in November. It MUST happen if America is to survive.

And so, today we celebrate the short life of a constitutional republic formerly known as the United States of America.

In her former life she was a jewel whose glistening light illumined an entire planet and even “near space.” She was often referred to as “A shining City on a Hill.”

The charity of our now lifeless Titan was without compare. She fed the hungry, rescued whole countries and even continents from the clutches of tyrants even as she had once rescued herself. In return she asked only friendship from those she had saved from the darkness of dictatorial serfdom. The downtrodden did not run away from her army. No. Instead, they ran joyously toward her army for they knew that she brought, not only salvation, but justice and mercy, as well.

In her all too brief lifetime she was a force for good on this earth. Now that she exists no more, that force for good is gone. Evil is now loosed on the planet with no counter force to protect those unable to protect themselves.

In all her might she was unable to save herself from the evil within. Her might was no match for the dark forces at work within her very on government to bring her downfall and to recreate her as a Socialist, Marxist, and Communist entity pulsating with a lust for power.

She was betrayed -- betrayed by her very own citizens who did not love her enough to stand beside her and defend her from the denizens of the deepest parts of hell, itself.

Their weapon was ignorance. A populace whose ignorance had been taught them in her very own public education institution brought this giant of giants to her final resting place on the ash heap of history. Here she will rest beside other colossi of nations whose fate, much as her’s, was sealed by their very own citizens.

The United States of America is gone. She no longer exists except in our memories. Now, instead of turning our faces into the wind and plowing ahead toward victory, we turn away from the breeze and allow the zephyr of fortune to blow us where ere it wishes.

We raise a glass to the glories of the United States of America and toast her memory.

A second glass we raise to the new Socialist States of America -- and tremble as we bring the shaking glass to our lips and our eyes dart furtively around the room searching, in vain, for the government spies who watch our every move, for our own benefit, of course.

The ice-cold fingers of fear clutch our hearts as we wonder just how awful this new future will be without our beloved “Columbia” standing as a guardian at the gates of freedom.

And then we become conscious of the heavy blanket of guilt resting unpleasantly on our shoulders. It is guilt well earned. It is a guilt that accompanies the “Mark of Cain.” It is the guilt of a murderer.

We stand in horror at the memory of what we have done. We have murdered our own country. Her own children cut down the noble experiment in constitutional republicanism.

As we leave this mournful gathering, with our National I. D. cards and papers in hand for the authorities to scrutinize, the searing of our souls over the flames of Marxism is near complete. Deep within our throats we form the words “God Bless America,” but choke them back as we realize there IS NO America for God to bless! She is gone – gone forever. Worse yet, we realize that God will have nothing to do with this new country where He is unwelcome.

Through tears of awful dread we mutter the words: “The Socialist States of America” and taste their bile-like bitterness on our tongues -- bitterness that nothing, nothing, will ever take a way. It is the eternal bitterness of self imposed slavery.

May God forgive the democrats for what they have done to America!

And finally: may God aid us in our efforts to purge our government of Socialists, Progressives, and Marxists -- and return her to the constitutional republic she was intended to be by The Founders of the God-inspired experiment we call America.

(I have learned, since this article was posted originally, that my Congressman, Mike McIntyre , a conservative "Blue Dog" Democrat, stood his ground and voted "NO" on ObamaCare! Our heartfelt thanks to Mike for the good sense to recognise socialism for what it is and to stand against it! "Thanks, Mike!" I WILL remember this come November!)

America, as we knew it, ceases to exist today (Sunday, March 21st, 2010). You may think that is an overly broad statement, a statement that just isn’t so. But, I would assure you it is, if anything, an understatement!

Today the socialists in the US House of Representatives will pass (or by the time you read this tome will have passed) National Healthcare Reform – that which we have chosen to refer to as ObamaCare. It will forever have HIS name on it, as well it should, because it was his campaign to “fundamentally change America” and his use of the ignorance of most publicly educated Americans that brought us to this reintroduction of slavery in America.

Yes, ObamaCare, by any other name, would still be slavery. Why? Because it is pure, flat-out, socialism, and socialism is the enslavement of a people until communism takes over their nation’s government.

I may have lost one of the best friends I have ever had, in my entire life, as a result of our own debate over ObamaCare and socialism in America today. His belief in a strong central government and my belief that a strong central government is pure evil, and my persistent belief in “state’s rights” as granted by the US Constitution, drove us to a heated debate. Later, I reminded myself that the socialists in charge of our government today NEED Americans at each other’s throats.

You know, ObamaCare is scary enough -- all by itself. But when one understands that it is only the BEGINNING, only the very first step in total control of the lives of Americans, it is not only frightening, it is terrifying. Freedom loving Americans must, somehow, stop this socialism.

Freedom-loving, liberty-loving, Americans must begin the campaign to repeal ObamaCare right now, today. Actually, I have already begun my personal campaign to have the “law from hell” repealed. I urge you to do the same.

I was thrilled to see the crowds of Americans in Washington yesterday demonstrating against socialized medicine. It was a great event for the Tea Party. I thought, as I watched on TV, that we have to bring this same level of energy toward defeating as many of the socialists and RINO’s in Congress as we possibly can this coming November in the Mid-Term Election. America will need a fresh start and she cannot get it if the incumbents remain in power in our national legislature. What is even more important -- we won’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of repealing ObamaCare if we do not remove the incumbents and replace them with representatives and senators sworn to support repeal of ObamaCare.

Repealing ObamaCare will certainly not be easy. Some fellow commentators are questioning the fortitude of the GOP members of Congress when the chips are down and the battle rages for repeal. I must tell you, I have the same concerns. Remember, even if we manage to gain control of both houses of the Congress this November, Obama will STILL be in the White House and he will most certainly VETO any bill that repeals ObamaCare -- should it ever reach his desk. Yes, repeal will be an uphill battle – all the way.

Repeal of ObamaCare will be one of the most difficult tasks ever undertaken by the American people. Once a government program wraps its tentacles around the freedoms and, yes, the wallets, of the American people it is near impossible to loosen them enough to forcibly extract them and return America to its free state.

We have a most difficult job ahead of us. It begins now, today. We absolutely must see that the democrats are defeated at the polls in the Mid-Term Election this coming November. Between now and then we have to locate and encourage candidates who believe in freedom for Americans -- and candidates who hate socialism -- to run for the offices up for election. And, somehow, we must only elect that candidate who will not fold when the going gets rough in Congress.

Bipartisanship be damned! It was bipartisanship that got us to this point in American history where the country has adopted socialism. In order to repeal ObamaCare and return America to its “constitutional republic” form of government, we cannot afford to elect a single limp-wristed, weak-spined, candidate. We will be engaging in a war in our national legislative body and we will need WARRIORS!

I urge you to begin your personal efforts today to Repeal ObamaCare.

Like Dracula, ObamaCare seems to crawl away when the light of day threatens only to climb out of its coffin at moonrise.

To paraphrase the famous line from the movie “Jaws”: “Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…” We can say: “Just when you thought it was safe to breath free…” ObamaCare twitches.

It looks dead. But is it? Poke it with a stick and see if it moves. Hold a mirror beneath its nostrils and watch for condensation. If this were the TV series “CIS” or “NCIS” we’d punch a spike thermometer through its abdomen, and into the liver, to determine time of death – if any.

Sadly, I have to report, that ObamaCare is NOT dead. Weakened, yes. Nigh unto death? Yes. Dead? NO.

I am still convinced the democrats will get some form of ObamaCare thru both house of the Congress and on the President’s desk before Spring -- probably a lot sooner, actually.

The house has some serious problems with the bill as written. Speaker Pelosi KNOWS she cannot get it through the House in its current configuration, so she is hoping the Senate will configure a bill the House dems can agree so she can get it passed on her side of the building. Then on to the President for his signature and -- Walla! ObamaCare is the “Law of the Land.”

I have no clue as to how, exactly, they will accomplish this feat, but, I am satisfied that they will. Now is not the time to be complacent. We must keep up the fight against ObamaCare.

Even more importantly, the Republicans ought to crying loudly and clearly that should ObamaCare pass into law, the battle cry for the campaigns between now and the Mid-term Election, this November, and beyond, will be “REPEAL OBAMACARE!”

Democrats need to understand this is no threat. It is a promise. They need to understand they vote for ObamaCare at the expense of their political careers.

Few things have inflamed the American anger quite like ObamaCare and the Democrats insistence on ramming it down the throats of Americans. Yet the far left understands that this is their best chance to grab all the power that government control of the nation’s healthcare will gain them. They are willing to go for broke even if it means losing their hold on the Congress -- as they surely will. It doesn’t matter. They are the “true believers” and they are in charge.

No, dear reader, Obamacare is NOT dead -- not by a long shot.

ObamaCare is, after all is said and done, not about healthcare. It is all about power. If ObamaCare passes into law, the socialists will maintain their power over your life, and the life of every American, even when they are out of power in the Congress!

Some Republicans get it. Senator Lamar Alexander, of Tennessee, said over the weekend: “"People are saying, 'We don't want it.' The Democrats are saying, 'We don't care, we're doing it anyway.' The Democrats will try to jam this through, and the rest of the year we're going to be involved in a campaign to repeal it."

At this moment, however, we need to expend our energy on killing ObamaCare. If that fails the republicans should switch immediately to a campaign to repeal it.

Be aware, however, the dems do not believe the republicans have the intestinal fortitude to mount a campaign to repeal ObamaCare. In fact, they are counting on it. It helps them justify the political massacre of their party at the polls this coming November.
