In the unlikely event you have not heard -- the Left HATES Rush Limbaugh.  So, what does the left do when it disagrees with someone?  Well, of course, they make an attempt to shut him/her up.   Wallah!  Hush Rush!  

The intolerance of the tolerant left is exceeded only by their love of Marxism. 

There is this belief (it seems to me) on the left that the First Amendment is meant only for those in America spouting socialist, Marxist, progressive, liberal nonsense.  But woe be unto him/her who dares, DARES, I say, to actually confront the left with their own shortcomings, their own intolerance, their own lies and distortions, and, their assumption of the ignorance of the American people.

Now they are stooping to intimidation.

The hypocrisy of the left is off the scale.  Their fake indignation over Mr. Limbaugh's remarks referencing a female college student testifying before a democratic committee recently is truly awesome.   All one has to do to see that the left's respect for women is less than they claim is listen to their music, watch one of their movies, or TV shows, or one of their TV talk shows.  The language they use when referencing women, especially women who's politics happens to be that of the conservative persuasion, is straight out of the gutter.

They are, indeed, two-faced. They say one thing but do another. They find blame with others who do the very same things they do.  I believe the shrinks call it "projection."

There has got to be a mental illness, a mass mental illness, on the political left in America.  How else are we to explain their total disconnect with reality? 

The REAL problem the Left has with Limbaugh is simple.  He has listeners.  That means his message of the left's hypocrisy is getting out to an America already saturated with leftist propaganda! 

We have seen it time and again.  The Left pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that are either nonexistent, or, are so completely outside the realm of decent society that the majority of Americans  do not recognize them, or, are embarrassed or revolted by them.

It is as if the political left in America views the citizens of America as a "Proletariat."  Proletariat, is a word with its roots in Latin.  It was often used Marxist government in the Kremlin to describe the masses of the Soviet Union's citizens.  Defined it means: a lower social class, usually the working class.  It would seem the American left views the American political left as their own proletariat -- And it is insulting and, frankly, disgusting.

There seems to be this powerful urge to silence dissenting opinion for fear the truth might spur that despicable  proletariat, the left looks down on, into some sort of action that might clear the smoke and mirrors the left  often uses to disguise their Marxist/Socialist agenda.
   

So, Limbaugh MUST BE SILENCED.  No matter that the 1st Amendment says Limbaugh has the right, as do all Americans, to express his opinion.  I mean, hey!  Its only the constitution.  You know, THE constitution, that outdated document this country was built on and thrived on, 'til the progressive movement decided it was no longer relevant and was, in fact, an impediment to their socialist/Marxist agenda for the America.

Limbaugh does not need me to defend him.  He can do that quite well, thank you.

What troubles me about this whole thing is not so much  Limbaugh himself, but the attack on the 1st Amendment. That is an assault on the freedom of every American, left and right.  You may not think this argument between left and right over speaking one's mind is anything more than a political game, but believe me, far more than that is at stake here than one-upmanship in a game..

Intimidation is a tool the left uses to bludgeon out of exitance anyone who disagrees with them.  Now, they have turned it on Limbaugh.  If they get away with it, it will embolden them to go after others.  Eventually, they will get to you -- and me, as well.

They know they can't get at Limbaugh directly, so they are going after his sponsors.  We will soon see which sponsors have the intestinal fortitude, the guts, the gumption, the steadfastness to ward off the left's attacks and continue to showcase their products to the millions of Americans who listen to Limbaugh's program every single day.  Those millions of listeners control millions of dollars of disposable income.  I suspect that when they learn of specific sponsors who fall away from Limbaugh's program, they will certainly hesitate, or even refuse, to spend their money on that sponsor's products.

In an article at Politco entitled: "The left's war on Rush's advertisers," Keith Appell, the Senior VP for CRC Public Relations, told POLITICO:  “It’s not enough to get an apology out of Rush Limbaugh. They want him off the air. He was still exercising his First Amendment rights, Trying to get someone off the air sounds like something out of the old Soviet Union."

Mr. Appel continued “Conservatives disagree, but we don’t try to silence people."  You may read the entire article HERE.

It is also reported that a list of sponsors remaining with Limbaugh will be published online.  I wonder if the list of the sponsors who left Limbaugh ought to published online, as well.  Seems to me THAT would be fair.  I mean, the left is always spouting about "fairness." Publication of such a list would allow listeners an opportunity to boycott their products, if they chose to do so.

David Limbaugh, Rush's brother tweeted the following: "
“[Liberals] have no concept of fairness and decency.  We would never seek to suppress their speech…. Libs seek a return of the glory days when the ‘unbiased’ MSM had monolithic control of the airwaves.”

Suzanne Terrell, a co-founder of ShePAC,  a new political action committee set up a month ago by two female activists and a former Palin advisor, (ShePac's Home Page) is reported to have said in a recent written rebuttal,  “The right should raise hell,  And we, every one of our elected officials and every one of our activists should call them out on this."  (SOURCE)

This is not a "tempest in a teapot," this is as important an issue as the Second Amendment's guarantee that American citizens have the right to keep and bear arms.  This is about the First Amendment's guarantee that American citizens have the right to free speech -- whether anyone, including the American political left,  agrees with what they say, or not.

HISTORY CHANNEL CAVES TO POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IN GEORGIA

(ATLANTA - November 29, 2010) The nationally syndicated cable television History Channel has made the controversial decision to force cable television companies, including Comcast and Charter, to pull ads paid for by the Sons of Confederate Veterans in Georgia commemorating the Sesquicentennial (150th Anniversary) of the War Between the States.

The series of twelve television commercials by the Sons of Confederate Veterans is part of a statewide radio and television campaign aimed at commemorating the anniversary of the late War Between the States and educating the public on Georgia's important role and the historical causes of the War. All twelve television commercials, as well as a companion series of radio commercials, are still broadcasting across the state of Georgia; and an entire slate of additional commercials are already in production for 2011.

The commercials came under scrutiny of the History Channel when a little-known liberal Internet site began attacking the Sons of Confederate Veterans for commemorating the War and, subsequently, also the History Channel for allowing the commercials to broadcast in their programming.

Vice-president Nancy Alpert of A&E Television, the parent company of the History Channel, gave the following explanation of her decision to ban the historical ads: "The subject matter of each of the SCV ads, plus the actual language... is well beyond our guidelines for any advertising on AETN." Alpert cited her opinion that the ads violated History Channel guidelines by quoting, among other things, a statement in one commercial that the war was "Not a 'civil war' fought to take over the United States, as it is called in history books today, this was a war... against an aggressive invasion by federal troops." She also complained that one of the commercials related to the causes of the War stated that the South seceded in part because "Northern congressmen were able to vote themselves virtually anything they wanted, using Southern tax money, while the South was powerless to stop it."

The commercials clearly offer a different point of view than that which is usually presented by documentaries on the History Channel; yet the channel has purported in the past to be an outlet, which offers competing, and even controversial, opinions about historical events.

Speaking on behalf of the Georgia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans which paid for the commercials to run, Division Commander Jack Bridwell had this to say, "We find it more than interesting that the History Channel has no problem airing shows with controversial theories about history, including more than one show which speculates that extraterrestrial aliens in UFO's somehow redirected human history, and yet the same channel does not see the value in allowing a non-profit, educational organization to present the Southern view of the causes for the War."

As the organization founded in 1896 and directly descended from the original United Confederate Veterans, the Sons of Confederate Veterans is charged in their initial charter with teaching the historical reasons for the South's heroic stand against overwhelming odds in the War. The charge given at the organization’s founding states, "To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will submit the vindication of the cause for which we fought; To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, and the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish."

With the Sons of Confederate Veterans representing more than 100,000 Southerners across the country, the Georgia Division of the SCV announced today that it is launching a campaign to educate the general American public about the censorship and hypocrisy of the A&E Network and particularly the History Channel. It is estimated that the A&E Network stands to lose several hundred thousand dollars over the course of the next two quarters as their advertisers are barraged by former viewers who are unhappy with this pandering to "political correctness," particularly across the South.

Just so we are clear here: This site does not accept political advertising for any candidate, or any political party, or any special interest group. The opinions, expressed here, are my own and those of my readers. I have no plans in future to accept paid political advertising. As a former broadcaster, I had my fill of all the required paperwork inherent in handling political ads. I learned quickly, the money, paid for those ads, did not make them worth the trouble.

The broadcasting Industry was, and remains, one of the most heavily government regulated industries in the United States. Political ads only bring state and federal government to your doorstep… always with the threat of heavy fines and, the ultimate punishment for any broadcaster, pulling the company’s broadcasting license.

So far, the blogging industry, and let’s face it, it HAS become an industry, is on the threshold of government regulation. The Blogosphere is far to powerful a force to go unregulated by a government afraid of any thing, any entity, or any person, which may be able to influence the American public, especially voters. So, every day the blogoshere goes without government regulation is a gift. For when the hammer comes down, it will come down with a resounding echo across the entire globe.

Look, there are bloggers out in the “sphere,” with which I am diametrically opposed… and they with me. But, we share a freedom unlike any in the annals of human history… at least since the advent of governments. If we ban together, we stand a chance of extending this freedom for a while longer. But, be aware, we WILL lose in the end.

You see, bloggers have power. We have proved it time and again. Governments fear all power not wielded by them. The blogoshere is a threat to government… and believe you me… they are fully aware of that threat.

Do not delude yourselves, fellow bloggers, we are being scrutinized, and we are being analyzed by the powers that be -- and they do not like what they see.

Here in America, political parties have tried to use the power of the blogosphere to spread their influence into yet untapped resources of money and support. Somehow, they seem to have balanced each other out, or, in some cases, cancelled each other out. So far, we bloggers have done a fairly good job of policing ourselves. But, again, do not be complacent. The end IS neigh.

The long and the short of all this is… freedom of thought, no matter how strongly those in political power support it publicly, is a threat to them and they know it. It stands to reason, they will make every effort to bring it to “heel,” or to stop it altogether.

So, we bloggers had best enjoy it while we can!

Acting FCC Chair, Michael Copps, is reported to have said the new political climate marks a new opportunity to remake the nation’s airwaves so that they can better reflect the country’s diversity.

The democrats are going to muzzle right wing radio. I have no doubt about it. It won’t be called “The Fairness Doctrine” but it will do the same thing… only worse.

There is an excellent article at CNS News.Com titled: “Acting FCC Chair Sees Government Role in Pushing ‘Media Diversity” that you really need to read. You’ll find it HERE. In the article Acting Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Copps says that some of those rules and regulations would include new licensing requirements that focus on public interest and station ownership. “I think we have a tremendous opportunity going forward to reinvigorate our media,” Copps continued, “to ensure that the public airwaves truly deliver the kind of news and information that we need to sustain our democratic dialogue and to reflect the great diversity of our country; its races and ethnic groups and culture and music and arts. Commissioner Copps went to say: “that the new political climate marked a new opportunity to remake the nation’s airwaves so that they can better reflect the country’s diversity.”

As a retired broadcaster, Copps words sent chills racing up and down my spine! Did you know the FCC overturned the fairness doctrine in 1987? Oh, yes! They discarded the rule because, contrary to its purpose, it failed to encourage the discussion of more controversial issues. There were also concerns that it was in violation of First Amendment free speech principles.

The Democrats never change. It’s always the “same song, next verse”. And that’s what we have here. They’re going to force legislation on the nation’s broadcasters and the American public. You see, they must. It is the way they insure their hold on power. They MUST control YOUR sources of information. The Mainstream Media is basically the “Media Wing of the Democratic Party.” The independent broadcasters, and the community stations, and the company owned chains of stations, must be brought to heel… and the “NEW Fairness Doctrine” will do it.

There is absolutely no doubt the Democrats will make every attempt to re-impose this Stalinist-type “law” or “regulation”… if not by the Congress, then certainly by installing their minions among the commissioners at the FCC where the rule will be issued, again, “with the force of law”. It is the Democrats way of “controlling the flow of information” and it is right out of the “dictator’s” handbook. They’re intent upon ramming their theocracy of socialism, down the throats of Americans in any way they can. Their “NEW Fairness Doctrine” will stifle the free expression of opinion and strangle free speech on the broadcast media in the United States.

Do not kid yourself. If the socialist, in charge of the US government today, are successful in controlling the free flow of information on the broadcast media, they will not hesitate to attack the internet, or the way Americans use the internet, to express opinions other than those of the left wing in this country.

Those of us on the right side of the political spectrum in America warned Americans of the crazed power trip the left would indulge in if given control of the US government. It has only just begun. Their “child-like” naiveté is dangerous to the nation. Under Democrat/Socialist control, freedom of speech is tolerated so long as that speech is censored by them and agrees with their party’s philosophy, which, of course, is subject to change at any given time in order to maintain control of the reins of power by their party.

Voices from the right have warned, many, many, times that Democrats out of power are funny, but IN power they are dangerous! That statement was never meant to be funny! It was always meant as a warning to Americans that Democrat control of the US government is as close to a political dictatorship as is possible, at this moment in time, in this country. But little by little, the American will for freedom, and free expression, has been dampened down. Each new generation of Americans has come to value their freedom less than the generation preceding them. Soon, American freedom will be no more. Care to guess who will be in control of the US government on that red-letter day?

President Reagan vetoed the last attempt by the Left Wing Congress to resurrect this Marxist attempt at information control, and control of free speech. We conservatives warned America that if a Democrat was elected President in 2008, and the Democrats maintained control of the Congress… the Fairness Doctrine, in some form, would certainly, without a doubt, be one of the first bills passed from the new Congress and signed into law by the Democrat/Socialist President.

In order to understand Democrats/Socialists you must remember… they exist for only two things in life. That is… the acquisition of power and maintaining that power!

If I were still in the broadcasting business today, I’d be investigating ways to alter my station’s formats to get around whatever our socialist government finally hands down from on high as regards their idea of “fairness”. Their intention to muzzle right wing talk radio is a fire burning deep in their bellies and driving them, like a drug-crazed dope fiend, to destroy this “thorn in their flesh.” And when that mission is accomplished… guess where they will turn their attention? The Internet.

Conservative blogging sites, such as the one you are reading right now, are certainly within the field of fire of the US socialist government. If I were a betting man, I’d wager they have socialist internet techies working, even as I write, on some way the government can stop writers like “yours truly” from publishing our warnings to America of the diabolical machinations of our new government.

Who cares about the Constitution! Why they believe it is a “living document” meaning it is subject to change and to the “change of interpretation” at their whim. These are the folks who find things in the constitution whenever it suits their fancy, things that you and I can’t find with a magnifying glass! They find things that are not in the constitution, but things a left-loaded Supreme Court is more than willing to assure us are REALLY there!

Do not kid yourself. The new socialist government of the United States IS coming after right wingers on the Internet. I don’t know just how they will do it, I only know they WILL do it. As soon as they fully understand that we are driving their bedrock supporters, the print media, out of business, you’d better believe they will come after us with everything they have… and they have a lot to throw at us.

Yes, the Super Highway of Information, the Internet, looms large as a target of the Democrat/Socialists. I say, again, do not think they have no plans to silence the voices of dissent, that is to say… the voices from the right, on this “network of citizen journalists”! When you think about who our government is today you will understand why they cannot allow the Internet to exist as it currently exists.

At this moment, the conservative blogosphere is an irritant that cannot be ignored much longer. Our constant, persistent, drumbeat of dissent against their Socialist/Marxist philosophy will eventually awaken America to their dark intent. When that is coupled with their inevitable overreaching Americans will find they want their old government back. I mean the Representative Republic the Founders gave us. You remember, don’t you…the country with an economic system based on capitalism and not socialism.

So rest assured, they will be coming after the Internet. They have no choice. We bloggers are a danger to them… so we must be silenced. Conservative bloggers should be prepared. Make ready. It’s coming!
