John McCain, the GOP’s “Sacrificial Lamb” for 2008!!!
John McCain, the GOP’s “Sacrificial Lamb” for 2008!!!
It appears, and we are beginning to get reports that, the “powers that be”, in the GOP, are coalescing behind John McCain as the next Presidential candidate of the Republican Party for 2008.
This is a HUGE mistake! It might even be a fatal mistake, as far as continued control of the House and Senate… as well as the Oval Office are concerned.
John McCain cannot win. It is obvious to everyone, it seems, except those who live in their ivory towers and power palaces and pull the strings in American politics!
McCain’s name is spoken as though it is something vile here in the South. His insult of the South has not been forgotten. (Nor will it ever be!) We WILL NOT VOTE FOR McCain… under any circumstances. The GOP would have better luck running Bob Dole again!!!
McCain is a moderate, to liberal, candidate. He is not nearly conservative enough for a Southerner to give him a second glance even had he not insulted
us!
I look at the current GOP and I wonder at their total disconnect from the grass root Republicans. How is this possible? How did they manage it? I suppose it makes no difference since they HAVE managed to isolate themselves from the input of their voters.
This disconnect, this isolation, is going to cost the GOP… dearly. If the GOP continues on the path it has so obviously chosen, it will lose the White House in ’08. It will lose a number of seats in the Senate and the House, and quite likely, lose controlling power in the government.
If you are familiar with politics, then you are familiar with the term “sacrificial lamb”. If not, I’ll explain: A political sacrificial lamb is a candidate the party, either party, puts forth, and supports, for the sole purpose of losing the election. Now, the reasons can be wide and varied. But, most often the party does not want it’s name and reputation connected with an upcoming national, or world event, which is thought to present a severe tainting of all politicians connected with it.
I believe the GOP is going to push McCain forward as that sacrificial lamb. McCain is so taken with himself that he is blinded to the fact that he is being offered up to the wolves on a silver platter.
I repeat… McCain cannot win! There is simply no way. So, I come back to the sacrificial lamb scenario.
I think the GOP has lost its nerve. I believe the GOP wants to relinquish control in Washington. But they want to do it so that it appears they put up one hell of a fight and went down fighting. So, they are putting up McCain as the sacrifice and they are willing to put the money up to make his failure look as good as is possible!
It’s a sham. It’s a trick. It is a show of cowardice for the GOP to run away, rather than stand and fight, and Conservatives want no part of a spineless party.

I'm in Minnesota and i hate him, most people do
All I can say is "Run Johnny run".
As a Liberal I just hope that the Dems. don't run Hilary, at first I thought she'd be great until all this Wal-mart and George W. butt kissing... It just sickens me that she is going Republican-light. We've had enough of these Republican sheep in wolves clothing.
There, my young friend, you have stumbled into the truth about Hillary. She couldn't care less about the Democrat or the Republican parties. She is out for number one... and she will use, and walk over, and discard, anyone, or anything, she feels she has to, to ensure her power. It's all a power play for her. Period.
