A few days ago, I wrote a piece in which I declared the current war on terror as a religious war… war between Islam and the Judeo-Christian religions. It raised some eyebrows. The truth, uttered aloud, usually does!
I stand by that today. Only someone totally disconnected from reality can say the war the United States finds itself embroiled in, all over the globe, is anything other than a religious war.
We Americans have become so used to our separation of church and state that we have a great deal of difficulty getting our minds wrapped around the idea of "religion as state" and "state as religion". Not the Moslems. No. Islam is just that.
As I write, Israel is in a dogfight with Moslem terrorists funded by the Islamofacists of Iran and Syria and other Islamic states with lower public profiles that the two just mentioned.
Israel is in this war to save herself… and… to save the United States. Israel knows she cannot exist without her big brother, the US, standing by her side. The US knows Israel is fighting our fight.
The commonality between the two nations is the Judeo-Christian faith. Now, I know it isn’t fashionable to speak openly of such things, to speak openly of a religious war, but the truth, Dear Reader, IS the TRUTH.
We simply must stop this charade and face facts. The fact is… The Moslems want you dead. They want you wife, or husband, dead. They want your son and/or your daughter dead. They want your grand kids dead. Simply put, if you are of the Jewish faith, or the Christian faith… they want you dead! Period! You can’t negotiate with them. There is nothing TO negotiate. They want you dead.
So, let’s put aside the flowery language of the diplomat, and forget political correctness, and call a spade a spade. We have come face to face with an enemy who hates us more than he loves life and he is willing to do whatever it takes, no matter how gruesome, no matter how horrible, to rid the face of the earth of Jews and Christians … and anyone else not a Moslem. It is, honestly, the Moslems versus everyone else.

So, what are we to do about it? We can ignore it and continue to think this is some sort of guerilla war and… we will take a hit every now and again and eventually the terrorists will get tired and go away. UH-UH! Ain’t gonna happen. They will go away when you are dead. When the US is dead. When Israel is dead. The end is just that stark.
Now, we can sit back and await the end, or we can choose to stand and fight, like men, a “no holds barred” fight, and take it to the Islamofacists. They do not fear death, they say. We should not be afraid to take them to their deaths as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will not be safe, you family will not be safe, your country will not be safe, until they are beaten back and made totally harmless.
The fight, of which I speak, is going to be dirty. It is going to be akin to genocide. But we have no choice. When your enemy hates you more than he loves his children, more than he loves his own life, then options available for reducing the threat, or negotiating away the threat, are non-existent.
We did not choose this fight. It chose us. The Moslems brought death and destruction to us. We must stop it by any, and all, means necessary.
But, before we do anything more, we must admit to ourselves... and we must admit openly... this war is about religion. Because… it is.

I agree that it is a war of religions. The Muslums don't care however what religion innocents belong to. They will just as soon murder their own as any other and that goes for agnostics and athiests too. - The "Progressive Liberals" have yet to figure out that they too are on the hit list.
It may well be that some or even most of the terrorists are just using the Muslum religion and don't really believe in it but that does not mean that it is not a war of religions.
Regarding the word Islamofacists I had a joker comment and try to say that there were Christian and Israeli/Jewish facists too but how many Christians and Jews are strapping suicide vests on and blowing up innocent civilians in the market palce? - How many of them are demanding world domination???
Attacking a dairy factory and a proctor and gamble wharehouse, trying to shut off an entire nations food supply is not an act or war, it is terrorism. Telling a village of people to get in their cars and evaquate, only to have their caravan of cars bombed by planes is not War or warfare, it is terrorism. Longstreet you talk about soldiers that stopped fighting to get help their wounded and the wounded of their enemy. Of a brave young soldier carrying whiskey and water to injured and dying soldiers on both sides of a conflict and said, and I agree it is honorable, that is why our country survived, we the people are ammicable to each other. If you and I were on opposite ends of a barrel we are fair game, our wives and children, our elderly, our sick in hospitals, and our wounded and dying that are no longer a threat are not! I thought it was a code of ethics for war, that in the end we were all human beings. Hezzbola's targeting of neighborhoods is equally as wrong. Am I naive of just plain stupid (don't touch that one hoosier) in my thinking (or lack there of)?
Frank, I'm gonna give you the correct answer, not the "politically correct" answer.
When the US goes to war, we target the opposing sides civilian population. The opposing side does ours, as well. Now, the powers that be, on both sides, will deny it, but there it is... and it is fact.
We wiped out Dresden, Germany's civilian population in a conflagration of firestorms like the world had never seen before. Then we did the same thing to Tokyo. We actually killed more Japanese, in Tokyo, when we firebombed it, deliberatly, by the way, than we killed with the two Atom bombs we dropped on.... civilian population centers.
The truth is... you break a nation's will to fight by attacking their women and children and old folks. It is a part of war and has been since the very first war.
War is man's lowest point. It is not glory. It is legal murder. That's why America waits, and waits, and dithers, and dithers, before she goes to war.
Back when the US actually won wars, everyone on the earth knew that the American warrior was the most efficient killing machine ever seen on the planet. And when America went to war we went at it like workmen to a job. We started at one end of a country and marched through it... cleaning out the enemy as we went. Free fire zones were REAL. Anything that moved, within that zone, not wearing a US uniform, was killed.
We didn't do body counts then. We just kept killing until the other side either stopped shooting or there were none of them left to shoot at us. It was efficient and effective.
Body counts began in Viet Nam. A PC war. A war we never intended to win... and didn't. You cannot win that kind of conflict.
We should never worry about winning the hearts and minds of the enemy. You make your enemy fear you... or... you make him dead.
Israel has it's back against the wall. It is do or die. It has known this since the first day of statehood when they were attacked, by three Arab armies, within 24 hours of gaining statehood.
Israel is a tiny state. She cannot absorb frontal attacks by falling back into her territory. She doesn't have the territory to fall back into. The geography just isn't there. So, she takes the battle to the enemy on it's home ground.
That's what she's doing now.
At least Israel did warn the civilian population, in southern Lebanon, they were coming and if the civilians remainded... they could be killed. Hezbollah was forcing many Lebanese to stay... not allowing them to leave. THEY WANT civilian casualties to use as propaganda against Israel. It's the way they do things.
As much as I hate to say this, what you see happening in Lebanon, today, will be happening here, in the states before many more years. My best guess is less than a decade. We will have open warfare in our streets and our cities as we have not had since April, 1865.
The terrorists are sure they can beat us by simply allowing us to beat ourselves. They have been watching, carefully, as we try to rebuild Iraq. Warriors, in the Arab mind, don't do that. That makes us soft and easy marks for terror in the US.
Bin Laden has written that when he saw Clinton pull US troops out of Somalia, he knew, right then, that America could be beaten. All you had to do, according to him, was make America bleed and she will run.
The politicians, in DC, arguing for US troops to be pulled out of Iraq are reinforcing Bin Laden's argument. They are making his case for him.
If we are going to win this thing, we are going to have to harden up. We are going to have to come to an understanding that we are fighting for our very existance. So far, America has not come to that realization... yet.
But, soon, when the attacks begin in our shopping malls, and our schools, and our Football stadia, and Baseball parks, and Basketball arenas, we will have it brought home to us... in spades.
It is horrible to think such a thing is possible. I tell you it is not only possible, it is eminent.
When that happens, Frank, I hope you and I can put away our squabbles and link arm in arm and do what will have to be done to preserve our way of life.
It's fun to argue, and squabble, with each other, as we do, when nobody is getting hurt. But, when we find our country in peril, it's time, then, to put away silly things, like this, and band together to stand against our common enemy. Because, they don't give a rat's rear end whether you and I are democrat or republican. They're gonna try, their dead level best, to kill us.
I apologise for ramblng, but it's the best I could do on the spur of the moment.
We may fuss and fight about this silly system we call national politics... but... when the time comes, and it IS coming, we had better be ready to put all that behind us and gird up our loins for battle.
