Obama Has Been Rolled!
Obama
Should Resign
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
***************
Back in the day, to say someone had been
"rolled" meant that that person had been out-smarted, out-maneuvered,
made a public fool of, etc.
When I was in the military, to be rolled
meant that you had stumbled out of a bar late at night, sailing more than three
sheets to the wind, were snatched into a dark ally, whereupon you were
cold-cocked , rendered unconscious, and
stripped of everything on your person of value.
Until recent decades, for a President to be
rolled simply meant he had been HAD by the opponent. It meant he had been fed a line of BS and he
bought it.
On the other hand, when one has been
"played" it is explained thusly:
The opponent used your own arrogance and narcissism against you by
allowing you to believe you were the smartest negotiator among them, stroking
you, and waiting for you to go that one tiny step too far -- at which point --
they slammed the door, locking you inside your own trap in full view of the
entire world. Once again, you have been
made a laughing stock , a public fool.
Mr. Obama ought to resign in
humiliation. The nation's honor demands
it.
But of course, he won't. He'll do what people like him always do --
blame someone else and continue dancing along the edge of disaster with full
knowledge that he is king and nothing bad can ever go wrong because he IS
king.
The import and the impact of what just
happened in history will not strike the people, or the government, of the US for a while yet. But it will.
Count on it. Unfortunately, by
then it will be too late to plan for the inevitable.
If there was any doubt, any doubt at all,
that the US President is an amateur, unfit for the high office he holds, then
this Syrian fiasco, this disaster of arrogant bungling, ought to be proof
enough.
A REAL
President would call his political party leaders in and tell them to prepare
for his imminent resignation. He would
then address the nation, admitting his gross mistake and error(s) in judgment,
announce his resignation -- effective immediately -- and pack his bags and
leave Washington.
But that would take a real man. A man with character, a man with honor, a man
who genuinely loves his country more than himself.
Sorry, but I just don't see it happening
with Mr. Obama.
Look.
Putin and Assad are not difficult to read. All of us "bookworms" and
"geeks" learned to read bullies by the time we reached third grade.
By the time we reached fourth grade, we had learned how to use their own
arrogance against them. Many of them had
strange, unexplained, "accidents" that brought a degree of shame to bear on
them. Those were quiet victories for the
bookworms and the geeks who celebrated in silence.
So. Now we get to wait weeks, months, and even
years for the scenario of the destruction of Assad's chemical weapons to play
out.
Take a deep breath now and consider
this: Nothing has changed! Oh, a
few words have been spoken, promises have been made, promises that are about,
roughly, the value of the paper they
haven't yet been written upon, the war in Syria continues unabated, Assad
continues killing his fellow Syrians in large numbers, al-Qaeda continues
strengthening and training volunteers for their wars in other Arab/Muslim
nations of the Middle East --and-- the US.
All in all, it's just another day in the murderous Middle
East.
Except --
Except that -- now they have a great
propaganda victory to celebrate. They
have "backed-down" a US President and made him look a fool in the
eyes of their people AND HIS people. They have tricked him into bringing shame,
humiliation, and defeat on the people of the US.
They have made Obama a target of derision. He, a man so cock-sure of his
personal powers of persuasion, has been HAD! Oh,
how sweet it is! And -- how EASY it
was!
THIS
is one of the unspoken reasons so many Americans were frightened to distraction
over the possibility that Obama would take this nation into war as
Commander-in-Chief. See, we KNEW he was/IS incapable of anything approaching
military leadership. Being a "War
President" is simply outside the pale for Obama.
Iran now understands it has nothing,
whatsoever, to fear from Obama. Their
endeavor to create their own nuclear arsenal, is safe and secure from American
bombs and missiles -- unless those American munitions are attached to the wings
and decks of Israeli war machines. However, with the new missiles Russia has offered Iran, she will become immune to attack -- even
from Israel!
So. Get ready for a nuclear armed
Iran and the coming nuclear war between Iran, Israel ad the United States.
See how all this fits so nicely
together. Understand now way so many of
us on the right were, and continue to be, so frightened of Mr. Obama's
naïveté? We warned over and over of the
danger. But ears were stopped and eyes
were blinded to the horrendous danger to the US -- and to the world -- an unqualified US President could and would pose.
It is too late now. The Rubicon has been
crossed, the dye has been cast.
There is a price -- yet to be determined --
for Mr. Obama's vacillating decision on Syria.
One can vacillate and waffle only so long until the decision is snatched
from you by a more determined and resolute decision maker. In the case of Obama and the Syrian
decision, Mr. Putin of Russia proved to be the most resolute and steadfast. Putin gets the prize and Obama gets the
razzie!
When I think that the US has three more years of suffering under
the so-called guidance of Mr. Obama,
I tremble. Under Obama, the US is crumbling even faster than the old Soviet Union.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower once
said: "History does not long entrust
the care of freedom to the weak or the timid." It seems to me we have just seen a
demonstration of just how freedom is endangered by a weak leader.
Three more years. Can the US survive?
That is most certainly the
question
uppermost in the minds of at least half of the American electorate today.
We live in constant fear of the phone ringing at three AM in that bedroom on the second floor of the
White House. The question is ever in the
air -- can we count on him to answer with
a firm decision, or will he defer to Mr. Putin -- again. For, make no mistake about it, Putin and Russia are in the ascendency, they are both on
the rise -- and -- unlike Mr. Obama, Mr.
Putin will not shrink from the role of world leader.
If Mr. Obama does not resign -- and he
won't -- we can expect more head-butting between Obama and Putin over the next
three years. The events will be well
planned and intended to polish Mr. Putin's allure and diminish Mr. Obama's
already badly tarnished reputation.
When considering our weak President and the
effect he is having on the US, I think often of something the actress
Marlene Dietrich is credited with having said:
"The weak are more likely to
make the strong weak than the strong are likely to make the weak strong."
For evidence of the truth in Ms. Dietrich's
words, just look around you. Look
particularly at the United States today.
